Description
本発明は、複合負極活物質に関する。前記複合負極活物質は、リチウム二次電池に好適に使用されることができる。

本発明は、上述の負極を含む二次電池、具体的には、リチウム二次電池を提供する。
実施例1:複合負極活物質の製造
シリコン系コア粒子SiO(平均粒径(D50):5μm)に炭化水素ガスとしてメタンを950℃で化学気相蒸着(CVD)し、シリコン系コア粒子上に内部炭素コーティング層を形成した。内部炭素コーティング層は、シリコン系コア粒子および内部炭素コーティング層の全重量に対して5重量%で形成された。
熱処理温度を300℃にした以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で実施例2の複合負極活物質を製造した。
内部炭素コーティング層が形成されたシリコン系コア粒子、外側炭素コーティング層形成用前駆体、SWCNTを99.95:0.03:0.02の重量比で混合した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で実施例3の複合負極活物質を製造した。
内部炭素コーティング層が形成されたシリコン系コア粒子、外側炭素コーティング層形成用前駆体、SWCNTを99.75:0.15:0.1の重量比で混合した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で実施例4の複合負極活物質を製造した。
熱処理温度を200℃にした以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で比較例1の複合負極活物質を製造した。
熱処理温度を700℃にした以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で比較例2の複合負極活物質を製造した。
SWCNTの代わりにマルチウォールカーボンナノチューブ(Multi-Wall Carbon nanotube、以下、MWCNT)を使用したこと、内部炭素コーティング層が形成されたシリコン系コア粒子、外側炭素コーティング層形成用前駆体、MWCNTを98.75:0.75:0.5の重量比で混合した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で比較例3の複合負極活物質を製造した。
実施例1で使用された内部炭素コーティング層が形成されたシリコン系コア粒子、カルボキシメチルセルロースおよびSWCNTを99.83:0.102:0.068の重量比で混合したもので比較例4の負極活物質を製造した。比較例4の負極活物質の場合、熱処理が行われておらず外側炭素コーティング層は形成されていないものである。
実施例1で使用された内部炭素コーティング層が形成されたシリコン系コア粒子、カルボキシメチルセルロースおよびSWCNTを99.65:0.21:0.14の重量比で混合したもので比較例5の負極活物質を製造した。比較例5の負極活物質の場合、熱処理が行われておらず外側炭素コーティング層は形成されていないものである。
実施例および比較例で使用されたSWCNT(またはMWCNT)とカルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)を40:60の重量比で水に添加した溶液(固形分含量は、溶液の全重量に対して1重量%)を水に1,000倍希釈する。次に、前記希釈溶液20mlをフィルタでフィルタリングし、前記SWCNT(またはMWCNT)が濾過されたフィルタを乾燥する。前記乾燥したフィルタを走査電子顕微鏡(SEM)で100枚撮影し、imageJプログラムを用いてSWCNTの長さを測定し、前記長さの平均値をSWCNTの平均長さとして定義する。
実施例および比較例で使用されたSWCNT(またはMWCNT)とカルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)を40:60の重量比で水に添加した溶液(固形分含量は、溶液の全重量に対して1重量%)を水に1,000倍希釈する。前記希釈溶液をTEMグリッドに1滴滴下し、TEMグリッドを乾燥する。前記乾燥したTEMグリッドをTEM装置(製品名:H7650、メーカー:Hitachi)で観察し、前記SWCNTの平均直径を測定する。
実験例1:SEM観察
実施例1、実施例2、比較例1、比較例2および比較例4で製造された複合負極活物質の外観を走査電子顕微鏡(SEM)で観察した。
実施例1~4、比較例1~3の複合負極活物質のXPS 深さ方向プロファイル(depth profile)を測定した。前記XPS 深さ方向プロファイルにより、酸素(O)の検出有無に応じて内部炭素コーティング層と外側炭素コーティング層との境界を区分し、外側炭素コーティング層内の酸素の含量を測定し、その結果を下記表1に示す。
<負極の製造>
負極材として実施例1で製造された複合負極活物質と、炭素系活物質として天然黒鉛(平均粒径(D50):15μm)を15:85の重量比で混合したものを使用した。
面積1.7671cm2であり、円形であるリチウム金属薄膜を正極として使用した。
実施例1~4、比較例1~5で製造した二次電池に対して、電気化学充放電器を用いて、サイクル容量維持率を評価した。

- 前記外側炭素コーティング層形成用前駆体は、カルボキシメチルセルロース、メチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、メチルヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、エチルヒドロキシエチルセルロース、メチルエチルヒドロキシエチルセルロースおよびセルロースガムからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項7または8に記載の複合負極活物質の製造方法。
- 前記混合するステップの前に、前記シリコン系コア粒子上に内部炭素コーティング層を形成するステップをさらに含む、請求項7から9の何れか一項に記載の複合負極活物質の製造方法。
- 前記内部炭素コーティング層を形成するステップは、メタン、エタンおよびアセチレンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の炭化水素ガスを使用する化学気相蒸着法(CVD)により行われる、請求項10に記載の複合負極活物質の製造方法。
- 負極集電体と、
前記負極集電体上に形成された負極活物質層とを含み、
前記負極活物質層は、請求項1から6の何れか一項に記載の複合負極活物質を含む負極材、バインダーおよび導電材を含む、負極。 - 前記負極材は、炭素系活物質をさらに含み、
前記負極材は、前記複合負極活物質および前記炭素系活物質を5:95~30:70の重量比で含む、請求項12に記載の負極。 - 請求項12または13に記載の負極と、
前記負極と対向する正極と、
前記負極と前記正極との間に介在されるセパレータと、
電解質とを含む、二次電池。
