Claims (12)
- 液体を吐出するノズルと、前記ノズルに連通する圧力室と、前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える圧電アクチュエーターと、を備える吐出部と、
前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させないように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える不吐出振動パルスを含む駆動波形を生成する駆動波形生成部と、
前記圧力室内の液体の温度に応じて、前記不吐出振動パルスの前記圧電アクチュエーターへの供給を制御する制御部と、
を備えることを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 前記不吐出振動パルスの前記圧電アクチュエーターへの供給及び非供給のうち一方を選択する選択部と、前記液体の温度を検出する温度検出部と、を備え、
前記制御部は、
前記温度検出部の検出結果が所定の温度未満の場合、前記圧電アクチュエーターへの前記不吐出振動パルスを供給し、
前記温度検出部の検出結果が前記所定の温度以上の場合、前記圧電アクチュエーターへの前記不吐出振動パルスを供給しないように、前記選択部を制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記吐出部内の液体を排出するメンテナンス処理を行うメンテナンス部を備え、
前記制御部は、前記温度検出部の検出結果が前記所定の温度未満であっても、前記メンテナンス処理を実施する前に、前記圧電アクチュエーターに前記不吐出振動パルスを供給しないように、前記選択部を制御することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記ノズルが開口するノズル面に接触する可能性がある物体を検出する接触物検出部を備え、

前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させないように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える不吐出振動パルスを含む第1駆動波形と、前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させないように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える印刷内不吐出振動パルスと前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させるように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える吐出振動パルスとを含む第2駆動波形と、を含む駆動波形を生成する駆動波形生成部と、
前記駆動波形の前記圧電アクチュエーターへの供給および非供給のうち一方を選択する選択部と、
液体の温度を検出する温度検出部と、
印刷データに応じて印刷媒体上に画像を印刷する印刷動作期間では、前記印刷データに応じて前記印刷内不吐出振動パルスおよび前記吐出振動パルスのうち一方を前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給するように前記選択部を制御し、前記印刷動作期間外の待機期間では、前記温度検出部の検出結果に応じて、前記圧電アクチュエーターへ前記不吐出振動パルスを供給するように、前記選択部を制御する制御部と、
を備えることを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記液体吐出装置の電源投入動作に基づいて、前記液体の温度に応じた前記不吐出振動パルスの供給の制御を開始することを特徴とする請求項1~5の何れか一項に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記液体吐出装置の電源停止動作に基づいて、前記液体の温度に応じた前記不吐出振動パルスの供給の制御を停止することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記待機期間では、前記温度検出部の検出結果が所定の温度未満の場合、前記圧電アクチュエーターへの前記不吐出振動パルスを供給し、前記温度検出部の検出結果が前記所定の温度以上の場合、前記圧電アクチュエーターへの前記不吐出振動パルスを供給しないように、前記選択部を制御することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記駆動波形生成部は、前記印刷動作期間では、前記温度検出部の検出結果が前記所定の温度未満の場合の、前記印刷内不吐出振動パルスによる前記圧電アクチュエーターの発熱量が、前記温度検出部の検出結果が前記所定の温度以上の場合の前記印刷内不吐出振動パルスによる前記圧電アクチュエーターの発熱量より、大きくなるように、印刷内不吐出振動パルスを生成することを特徴とする請求項5又は8に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記液体は、紫外線硬化型インク又は溶剤系インクであることを特徴とする請求項1~9の何れか一項に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 液体を吐出するノズルと、前記ノズルに連通する圧力室と、前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える圧電アクチュエーターと、を備える吐出部と、
前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させないように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える不吐出振動パルスを含む駆動波形を生成する駆動波形生成部と、
を備える液体吐出装置の駆動方法であって、
前記圧力室内の液体の温度に応じて、前記不吐出振動パルスの前記圧電アクチュエーターへの供給を制御することを特徴とする液体吐出装置の駆動方法。 - 液体を吐出するノズルと、ノズルに連通する圧力室と、圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える圧電アクチュエーターと、を備える吐出部と、
前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させないように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える不吐出振動パルスを含む第1駆動波形と、前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させないように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える印刷内不吐出振動パルスと前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給されると前記ノズルから前記液体を吐出させるように前記圧力室内の液体に圧力変動を与える吐出振動パルスとを含む第2駆動波形と、を含む駆動波形を生成する駆動波形生成部と、
液体の温度を検出する温度検出部と、
を備える液体吐出装置の駆動方法であって、
印刷データに応じて印刷媒体上に画像を印刷する印刷動作期間では、前記印刷データに応じて前記印刷内不吐出振動パルスおよび前記吐出振動パルスのうち一方を前記圧電アクチュエーターに供給し、前記印刷動作期間外の待機期間では、前記温度検出部の検出結果に応じて、前記圧電アクチュエーターへ前記不吐出振動パルスを供給する
ことを特徴とする液体吐出装置の駆動方法。
