Claims (16)

  1. 屈曲可能部分を横断して画像を表示し、スタイラスを用いて入力を受信し、ユーザタッチから入力を受信することが可能である可撓性画像表示装置であって、前記可撓性画像表示装置は、
    2つの平面部分および屈曲可能部分を含む可撓性電気光学ディスプレイであって、前記屈曲可能部分は、可撓性であり、画像を表示することが可能である、可撓性電気光学ディスプレイと、
    2つの平面支持部材であって、各平面支持部材は、長方形であり、かつ、固定領域および非固定領域を備え、前記固定領域は、前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイの前記平面部分のうちの1つに結合され、それを支持し、前記非固定領域は、前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイに結合されない、2つの平面支持部材と、
    前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイによって画定された中心線と平行な2つの別個の回転軸を備える屈曲機構であって、前記2つの回転軸のそれぞれは、前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイによって画定された前記中心線から離れるように設定され、前記回転軸のそれぞれは、平面支持部材の枢動を画定する、屈曲機構と、
    前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイと前記平面支持部材との間に配置されている、スタイラスの位置を検出するためのデジタル化層と、
    前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイの平面部分の表面と略平行な方向に光を放出し、タッチする物体から反射される光を検出するように構成されている、タッチセンサユニットと
    を備える、可撓性画像表示装置。
  2. 前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイの一部は、前記固定領域内の前記平面支持部材に接合されている、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  3. 前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイの一部は、支持部材に対して自由に摺動するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  4. 前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイは、電気泳動媒体を備える、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  5. 前記電気泳動媒体は、カプセル化されている、請求項4に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  6. 前記電気泳動媒体は、複数のマイクロセル内に分散されている、請求項4に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  7. 前記2つの別個の回転軸のそれぞれは、各回転軸の端部に結合された回転歯車を含み、前記屈曲機構はさらに、前記回転歯車の回転を同期させるための回転同期装置を備える、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  8. 前記回転同期装置は、2つの別個の同期歯車を備え、前記同期歯車のそれぞれは、他の同期歯車と、回転軸に結合された前記回転歯車のうちの1つとに係合されている、請求項7に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  9. 前記屈曲機構はさらに、その個別の回転軸を中心とした前記2つの平面支持部材の前記非固定領域の回転によって掃引される体積を超える空体積を備える、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  10. 前記屈曲可能部分の後方撓曲を防止するように構成された補助支持構造をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  11. 前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイは、ピクセルのアレイを含む可撓性バックプレーンを備える、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  12. 前記可撓性バックプレーンは、前記バックプレーンを横断して2.5cmの線形距離毎に、少なくとも100ピクセルを含む、請求項11に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  13. 前記デジタル化層は、電磁共鳴(EMR)デジタル化層である、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  14. 前記デジタル化層は、それが前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイと共に折畳することを可能にするように、前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイに継合されている、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  15. 前記可撓性電気光学ディスプレイの平面部分の表面と略平行な方向に光を放出し、タッチする物体から反射される光を検出するように構成されている、第2のタッチセンサユニットをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
  16. 前記タッチセンサユニットおよび前記第2のタッチセンサユニットは、異なる周波数の光を放出する、請求項15に記載の可撓性画像表示装置。
