Abstract
Description
本発明で述べる異相ポリマーは、2つの異なる相、すなわち、2段階プロセスで製造される、ホモポリプロピレンと、エチレンとプロピレンの共重合体とを有する。ホモポリプロピレンの重合が第一反応器で行われ、第二反応器でエチレンプロピレンゴム重合が行われ、必要に応じて第三反応器でも同様に重合が行われてもよい。この重合プロセスで使用される触媒は、チーグラー−ナッタ触媒またはメタロセン触媒とすることができる。エチレンプロピレン共重合体のエチレンの比率は10〜80重量%である。ASTM D5492による、最終的な異相ポリマーにおけるエチレン含有量は8〜20%であり、得られたポリマーのキシレン含有量は10〜25重量%である。ASTM D1238による、不均一ポリマーのMFIは、3〜12g/10分である。ASTM規格D790による、異相ポリマーの曲げ弾性率は700〜1300MPAであり、また、ASTM規格D256による、室温で測定されるノッチ付きアイゾッド法により規定される衝撃特性は80〜700J/mである。本発明で述べる異相ポリマーは、反応器外における粉体形態または造粒物形態で使用される。
本発明の方法は、2つのステージを含む。ステージ1は、形態改質剤組成物の調製、および、反応性改質添加剤/形態改質剤組成物と異相ポリマーとを混合するステップを含む。ステージ2は、反応押出成形プロセスを含み、ステージ1で得られた最終混合物を150℃〜260℃で、二軸押出機で押出成形する。
形態改質添加剤/反応性改質添加剤混合物/形態改質剤組成物:
有機溶媒(例えば、アセトン、DCM、パラフィン油、エタノール)において多官能性添加剤と過酸化物の予混合を0〜100ml/kg、好ましくは5〜40ml/kg、より好ましくは5〜20ml/kgの範囲で行う際は、10〜35℃、または、有機溶媒、過酸化物、もしくは多官能性添加剤の沸点を超えない温度で行うことが好ましい。予混合は、2分以上、好ましくは5分以上、より好ましくは10分以上、特に30分〜45分以上行う。予混合は、不活性ガスの存在下または空気の存在下のいずれかで、周囲圧力で行う。
次いで、予混合された混合物を、最大スクリュー回転速度が800rpmであり、スクリューの直径が26mmであり、長さ/直径比が40:1である、Labtech社製の二軸スクリュー押出機で溶融混合した。押出機の速度は100〜200rpmに維持し、バレル温度は100〜250℃に維持し、供給率は8〜20kg/時に維持した。改質されたバッチの押出成形物を、水浴で冷却した後、2〜3mmサイズのペレットにペレット化した。
ポリマー:
PP1Aは、プロピレンおよびエチレンの共重合体の反応器粉体/異相ポリマーであり、MFR2(230℃)が9〜11g/10分、エチレン含有量が14〜15%、キシレン可溶量が21〜23重量%、曲げ弾性率が800〜1000MPa、ノッチ付きアイゾッド衝撃強度が500J/mより大きいものである。
実施例で使用される化学製品の詳細は次のとおりである。
●過酸化物1−Luperox 101(2,5−ジメチル−2,5−ジ(tert−ブチルペルオキシ)ヘキサン)分子量290g/mol,0.877g/ml,およびアッセイ90%。
●過酸化物2−Triganox 301(3,6,9−トリエチル−3,6,9−トリメチル−1,4,7−トリペロキソナン)
●使用したMFC1−PETA(ペンタエリスリトールトリアクリラート)は、分子量298.29g/mol、25℃で1.18g/mlおよび反応抑制剤としてモノメチルエーテルハイドロキノン300〜400ppmを含む。
●MFC2−PETeA(ペンタエリスリトールテトラアクリラート)
●溶媒1−使用したアセトンの純度は99%、20℃での1mlあたりの重量が0.79〜0.792g、不揮発性物質の不純物の上限は0.002%、酸性度0.015%、および水0.4%
●溶媒2−DCM(ジクロロメタン)
●溶媒3−使用したLP(液体パラフィンライト)は、25℃での粘度が25〜80mPas、25℃で1mlあたりの重量が0.82〜0.88g、水の最大不純物は0.05%
反応押出成形プロセスのペレット化した組成物を使用してASTM規格に従った機械的試験用の試料を準備した。この準備は、スクリュー直径が40mm、L:D比が20:1、および60トン数の型締力で、L&Tプラスチックマシネリー社の射出成形機により行った。バレル温度は150℃〜300℃に保ち、金型温度は60℃に保った。得られた射出成形試料を使用して、ASTM規格に従って、引張、屈曲、および衝撃強度を測定した。
以下の例は、様々な反応性形態改質剤組成物を使用したインパクト共重合体ポリプロピレン反応器粉体(PP3A)の反応性改質、および本発明の方法により強化された特性を示したものである。
以下は、上記に開示された、従来技術に優る本発明の技術的利点である。
●従来の技術で製造された既存のインパクト共重合体ポリプロピレン(ICP)から、耐衝撃性および高流動性を達成する。
●曲げ弾性率に大きな影響を与えることなく、メルトフローインデックス(MFI)および衝撃強度を同時に高めることができる。
●従来の方法で製造されたPPから熱可塑性オレフィン(TPO)を製造するための、経済的に実行可能な代替ソリューション。
Claims (13)
- 形態改質異相ポリマーであって、2つの異なる相、すなわち、
ホモポリプロピレンと、プロピレンとエチレンの共重合体と、必要に応じてC4〜C10アルファオレフィンとを含むプロピレンポリマー相であり、プロピレンポリマー相中のプロピレン含有量が90〜95重量%である第1相と、
ホモポリエチレンと、エチレンとC3〜C10アルファオレフィンの共重合体を含むエチレンポリマー相であり、エチレンポリマー相中のエチレン含有量が20〜50重量%である第2相とを有し、
ASTM規格D256に従ったノーブレーク衝撃強度が500J/m〜700J/mであり、ASTM D1238に従った高メルトフローインデックスが3〜150g/10分であり、ASTM規格D790に従った平衡曲げ弾性率が700〜1400MPaであることを特徴とする形態改質異相ポリマー。 - 形態改質異相ポリマーを調製する方法であって、
(i)多官能性添加剤と過酸化物とを有機溶媒中で予混合して形態改質剤組成物を得て、形態改質剤組成物を異相ポリマーと混合して予混合組成物を得るステップと、
(ii)予混合組成物を押出成形して、形態改質異相ポリマーを得るステップとを含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項2に記載の方法であって、予混合組成物が、160〜300℃の温度で、二軸スクリュー押出機で押出成形されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、多官能性添加剤が不飽和有機ビニル化合物であり、ペンタエリスリトールトリアクリラート、ペンタエリスリトールテトラアクリラートおよびブタンジオールジアクリラートからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、多官能性添加剤の添加量が1000〜7500ppmであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、過酸化物が過酸化アルキルおよびペルオキシエステルからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、過酸化物の添加量が25〜2000ppmであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、有機溶媒がアセトン、ジクロロメタン(DCM)、パラフィン油、およびエタノールからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、有機溶媒の添加量が0.5〜60ml/kgであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、予混合を、10〜35℃の範囲の温度、または、有機溶媒、過酸化物若しくは多官能性添加剤の沸点を超えない温度で行うことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、予混合を2分〜30分間行うことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、ステップ(i)が、酸化防止剤、酸捕捉剤、および核剤添加剤パッケージを添加することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法であって、異相ポリマーが、2つの異なる相、すなわち、
ホモポリプロピレンと、プロピレンとエチレンの共重合体と、必要に応じてC4〜C10アルファオレフィンとを含むプロピレンポリマー相であり、プロピレンポリマー相中のプロピレン含有量が90〜95重量%である第1相と、
ホモポリエチレンと、エチレンとC3〜C10アルファオレフィンの共重合体とを含むエチレンポリマー相であり、エチレンポリマー相中のエチレン含有量が20〜50重量%である第2相とを有することを特徴とする方法。
