Abstract
Description
ポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)は、IVおよび血液バッグ、外科用チューブおよび関連構成要素、カテーテル等の医療用途に最も広く使用されるポリマーの中の1つである。単独では、PVCは硬質で剛性が高い物質である。しかし、PVCが可塑剤で可塑化された場合、PVCは柔軟であるにもかかわらず強靭で、耐キンク性になり、シクロヘキサノン等の溶剤を使用して他のポリマー構成要素に容易に溶剤接着することができる。しかし、PVCの使用は、アクリルベースまたはABSベースのポリマー等の他のポリマーに対するPVCの接合強度の経時的な劣化によってある程度妨げられている。
本開示は、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマー(そのようなポリマーを含む物品またはデバイスを含む)に対する、非フタル酸ジ(2−エチルヘキシル)(DEHP)で可塑化されたポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)(非DEHP PVCベースのポリマーブレンド、およびそのようなポリマーおよびブレンドを含む物品またはデバイスを含む)の接着性を改善する方法を提供する。

本開示は、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーに対する非フタル酸ジ(2−エチルヘキシル)(DEHP)ポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)(例えば、非DEHP PVCポリマーブレンド)の接着性を改善する方法を提供する。医療用途では、PVCを含む物品は、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーを含む物品に溶剤接合されることが多い。このような用途では、DEHPを含まないPVC組成物(例えば、非DEHP PVCポリマーブレンド)は、PVC物品からのDEHPの溶出に対する高まりつつあるに懸念にかんがみて好都合である。しかし、このような接合は経時的に劣化し、その結果、このような接合を含む医療デバイスまたは構成要素は、適切な保管寿命を有さない。驚くべきことに、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーに対する非フタル酸ジ(2−エチルヘキシル)(DEHP)ポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)(例えば、非DEHP PVCポリマーブレンド)の接着性(例えば、接合強度および/または接合寿命)は、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーを耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドすること、および/または高分子量のアクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーを使用することによって改良され得ることが見出された。医療デバイスまたは構成要素が、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーを含む物品に接合された、非DEHP PVC(例えば、非DEHP PVCポリマーブレンド)を含む物品を含む場合、医療デバイスまたは医療デバイスの構成要素を製造するために本方法を使用することができる。
Claims (23)
- アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーに対する、非フタル酸ジ(2−エチルヘキシル)(DEHP)で可塑化されたポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)の接着性を改善する方法であって、
前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマー中のゴム含量が12%(w/w)を超えるように、前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーを耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドするステップを含む方法。 - 前記非DEHP PVCが、テレフタル酸ジオクチル(DEHT)PVCである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記非DEHPで可塑化されたPVCが、可塑剤の総重量に対して、15%(w/w)〜46%(w/w)の範囲の量で非DEHP可塑剤を含む可塑剤を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記非DEHPで可塑化されたPVCが、エポキシ化油を除いて、6%(w/w)〜42%(w/w)の範囲の量で非DEHP可塑剤を含む可塑剤を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーが、耐衝撃性改良されたアクリルベースのマルチポリマーである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ABSベースのポリマーが、耐衝撃性改良されたABSベースのマルチポリマーである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーがアクリルターポリマーである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルターポリマーが、メタクリル酸メチル/スチレン/アクリル酸エチルターポリマーである、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記ABSベースのポリマーが、(1)ABSを含むメタクリレートポリマー、(2)透明グレードのABS、および(3)メタクリル酸メチル−アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン(MABS)からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーが、98%(w/w)を超えるポリ(メタクリル酸メチル)含量を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーが透明である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記耐衝撃性改良剤が、ポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)、ポリ(メタクリル酸ブチル)、ポリブタジエン、メタクリル酸メチル−ブタジエン−スチレンコポリマー(MBS)、アクリルゴム、およびElvaloy(登録商標)ACからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたは前記ABSベースのポリマーが、ポリブタジエン系の耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーが、ポリブタジエン系の耐衝撃性改良剤および/またはポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマー中のゴム含量が、12%(w/w)を超え、最大40%(w/w)までである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 非DEHP PVCを含む第1のメンバーを、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーを含む第2のメンバーに接合する方法であって、
前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマー中のゴム含量が12%(w/w)を超えるように、前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたは前記ABSベースのポリマーを耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドするステップ;
前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたは前記ABSベースのポリマーを含む前記第2のメンバーを形成するステップ;および
前記第1のメンバーを前記第2のメンバーに溶剤接合するステップ
を含む方法。 - 前記非DEHP PVCおよびアクリルベースのポリマーが、5.5lbfを超える結合力を少なくとも5年間有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたは前記ABSベースのポリマーが、ポリブタジエン系の耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドされる、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記アクリルベースのポリマーが、ポリブタジエン系の耐衝撃性改良剤および/またはポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドされる、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のメンバーがチューブであり、前記第2のメンバーが成型部品である、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のメンバーおよび前記第2のメンバーが、シクロヘキサノンまたはシクロヘキサノンおよびMEKの混合物を使用して溶剤接合される、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 非DEHP PVCを含む第1のメンバーを、アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーを含む第2のメンバーに接合する方法であって、
前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマー中のゴム含量が少なくとも15%(w/w)となるように、前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたは前記ABSベースのポリマーを耐衝撃性改良剤とブレンドするステップ;
前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたは前記ABSベースのポリマーを含む前記第2のメンバーを形成するステップ;および
前記第1のメンバーを前記第2のメンバーに溶剤接合するステップ
を含む方法。 - 非DEHP PVCを含む第1のメンバー、および
アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーの成型部品を含む第2のメンバー
を含むデバイスの構成要素であって、第1のメンバーが第2のメンバーに溶剤接合されており、前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマー中のゴム含量が、12%(w/w)を超えるように、前記アクリルベースのポリマーまたはABSベースのポリマーが耐衝撃性改良剤を含む、構成要素。
