Description
バインダーとしてPVdF−HFP(ポリフッ化ビニリデン−ヘキサフルオロプロピレン共重合体)をアセトンに添加し、50℃で約12時間以上溶解させてバインダー高分子溶液を用意した。用意したバインダー高分子溶液に非ベーマイト粒子として平均粒径500nmのアルミナ(Al2O3)粒子と、平均粒径200nmのベーマイト(γ−AlO(OH))粒子とを添加し、分散させて多孔性コーティング層用スラリーを製造した。
バインダー高分子の重量、ベーマイト粒子とバインダー高分子との重量比、及びセパレータの厚さを下記表1の条件にしたことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
バインダーとしてPVdF−HFPをアセトンに添加し、50℃で約12時間以上溶解させてバインダー高分子溶液を用意した。製造されたバインダー高分子溶液に無機物粒子として平均粒径500nmのアルミナ(Al2O3)粒子を添加し、分散させて多孔性コーティング層用スラリーを製造した。
ポリエチレン多孔性膜の両面に形成された2つの多孔性コーティング層(第1多孔性コーティング層、第2多孔性コーティング層とする)におけるバインダー高分子の重量、ベーマイト粒子とバインダー高分子との重量比、及びセパレータの厚さを下記表1の条件にしたことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
ポリエチレン多孔性膜の両面に形成された2つの多孔性コーティング層(第1多孔性コーティング層、第2多孔性コーティング層とする)におけるバインダー高分子の重量を下記表1の条件にしたことを除き、比較例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
ポリエチレン多孔性膜の両面に形成された2つの多孔性コーティング層(第1多孔性コーティング層、第2多孔性コーティング層とする)におけるバインダー高分子の重量、及びベーマイト粒子とバインダー高分子との重量比を下記表1の条件にしたことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
ポリエチレン多孔性膜の両面に形成された2つの多孔性コーティング層(第1多孔性コーティング層、第2多孔性コーティング層とする)におけるバインダー高分子の重量、セパレータの厚さを下記表1の条件にしたことを除き、比較例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
ポリエチレン多孔性膜の両面に形成された2つの多孔性コーティング層(第1多孔性コーティング層、第2多孔性コーティング層とする)におけるバインダー高分子の重量、ベーマイト粒子とバインダー高分子との重量比、及びセパレータの厚さを下記表1の条件にしたことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
実施例1〜10及び比較例1〜11で製造されたセパレータの通気時間、及び熱収縮率をそれぞれ測定して下記表1に示した。
ガーレー空気透過度値はASTM D726−94方法で測定した。ここで使用されたガーレーは、空気の流れに対する抵抗であって、ガーレーデンソメーター(Gurley densometer)によって測定される。ここで説明されたガーレー空気透過度値は、100mlの空気が12.2水柱インチの圧力下で1平方インチの断面を通過するのにかかる時間(秒)、すなわち通気時間で示した。
実施例1及び比較例1で製造されたセパレータを50mm×50mm大きさに裁断し、A4用紙の間に挟んで150℃の対流式オーブン(convection oven)に30分間入れた後、機械方向(MD)と横方向(TD)の熱収縮率を測定した。このとき、熱収縮率は[(最初の長さ−熱処理後の長さ)/(最初の長さ)×100]で計算した。
Claims (14)
- セパレータであって、
多数の気孔を有する多孔性基材;及び
前記多孔性基材の両面にそれぞれ形成され、多数の無機物粒子及び前記無機物粒子の表面の一部または全部に位置して前記無機物粒子同士の間を連結及び固定させるバインダー高分子を含む一対の多孔性コーティング層を備えてなり、
前記一対の多孔性コーティング層内のバインダー高分子及び無機物粒子の含量が互いに同一であり、
前記多孔性コーティング層の全体重量に対するバインダー高分子の重量が5〜40重量%であり、
前記無機物粒子がベーマイト粒子及び非ベーマイト粒子を含んでなり、
前記ベーマイト粒子とバインダー高分子との重量比が1:1〜1:5である、セパレータ。 - 前記非ベーマイト粒子と前記ベーマイト粒子との重量比が1:99〜99:1である、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記非ベーマイト粒子は、誘電率定数が5以上の無機物粒子、リチウムイオン伝達能力を有する無機物粒子又はこれらの混合物である、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記誘電率定数が5以上の無機物粒子は、BaTiO3、Pb(Zr,Ti)O3(PZT)、Pb1-xLaxZr1-yTiyO3(PLZT)、PB(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3−PbTiO3(PMN−PT)、ハフニア(HfO2)、SrTiO3、SnO2、CeO2、MgO、NiO、CaO、ZnO、ZrO2、Y2O3、Al2O3、TiO2、SiCまたはこれらの混合物である、請求項3に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記リチウムイオン伝達能力を有する無機物粒子が、リチウムホスフェート(Li3PO4)、リチウムチタンホスフェート(LixTiy(PO4)3、0<x<2、0<y<3)、リチウムアルミニウムチタンホスフェート(LixAlyTiz(PO4)3、0<x<2、0<y<1、0<z<3)、(LiAlTiP)xOy系列ガラス(0<x<4、0<y<13)、リチウムランタンチタネート(LixLayTiO3、0<x<2、0<y<3)、リチウムゲルマニウムチオホスフェート(LixGeyPzSw、0<x<4、0<y<1、0<z<1、0<w<5)、リチウムナイトライド(LixNy、0<x<4、0<y<2)、SiS2系列ガラス(LixSiySz、0<x<3、0<y<2、0<z<4)、P2S5系列ガラス(LixPySz、0<x<3、0<y<3、0<z<7)又はこれらの混合物である、請求項3に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記ベーマイト粒子の平均粒径が前記非ベーマイト粒子の平均粒径の0.01〜0.9倍である、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記非ベーマイト粒子の平均粒径が0.5〜3μmである、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記ベーマイト粒子の平均粒径が0.05〜0.4μmである、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記多孔性基材がポリオレフィン系多孔性基材である、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記ポリオレフィン系多孔性基材が、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブチレン及びポリペンテンからなる群より選択される一種又はこれらの二種以上の混合物で形成されたものである、請求項9に記載のセパレータ。
- 前記多孔性基材の厚さが5〜50μmであり、
前記多孔性基材の気孔の大きさが0.01〜50μmであり、
前記多孔性基材の気孔度が10〜95%である、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。 - 前記バインダー高分子が、ポリフッ化ビニリデン−ヘキサフルオロプロピレン、ポリフッ化ビニリデン−トリクロロエチレン、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリブチルアクリレート、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリビニルアセテート、エチレンビニルアセテート共重合体、ポリエチレンオキサイド、ポリアリレート、セルロースアセテート、セルロースアセテートブチレート、セルロースアセテートプロピオネート、シアノエチルプルラン、シアノエチルポリビニルアルコール、シアノエチルセルロース、シアノエチルスクロース、プルラン及びカルボキシルメチルセルロースからなる群より選択される一種又は二種以上の混合物である、請求項1に記載のセパレータ。
- 電気化学素子であって、
カソード、アノード、前記カソードと前記アノードとの間に介在されたセパレータを備えてなるものであり、
前記セパレータが請求項1〜12の何れか一項に記載のセパレータである、電気化学素子。 - 前記電気化学素子がリチウム二次電池である、請求項13に記載の電気化学素子。
