Claims (5)
- 燃料フィルタ(32)に接続される吸入口(34)を有する燃料ポンプ(29)ならびに当該燃料ポンプ(29)を駆動する電動モータ(28)がポンプハウジング(30)にともに収容されるポンプユニット(31)が、燃料タンク(23)の外方に配置されるモジュールケース(27)内に収容され、前記燃料ポンプ(29)のポンプ室(52)からベーパーを排出するベーパー排出孔(53)が前記ポンプハウジング(30)に形成される燃料ポンプモジュールにおいて、前記燃料ポンプ(29)から吐出される燃料の圧力を調整するようにして前記モジュールケース(27)に収容されるレギュレータ(33)から戻される燃料を溜める燃料貯留室(54)が、前記ベーパー排出孔(53)に通じて前記モジュールケース(27)内に形成され、前記燃料タンク(23)内に前記燃料貯留室(54)から前記ベーパーを含む燃料を戻す戻り管(56)が前記モジュールケース(27)に連設され、その戻り管(56)の前記モジュールケース(27)への開口端(56a)の上端よりも下方に、前記ベーパー排出孔(53)が配置されることを特徴とする燃料ポンプモジュール。
- 前記燃料フィルタ(32)が前記ポンプハウジング(30)に収容され、前記燃料貯留室(54)が、前記ポンプユニット(31)の周囲で当該ポンプユニット(31)の軸線方向全長にわたって延びるとともに前記レギュレータ(33)から戻される燃料を貯留する第1貯留部(58)と、その第1貯留部(58)に通じて前記燃料フィルタ(32)の周囲に配置される第2貯留部(59)とを備え、前記戻り管(56)が前記第2貯留部(59)に通じるようにして前記モジュールケース(27)に連設されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料ポンプモジュール。
- 前記モジュールケース(27)に、前記第1貯留部(58)の上部および前記第2貯留部(59)の上部間を連通する第1連通孔(60)と、前記第1貯留部(58)の下部および前記第2貯留部(59)の下部間を連通する第2連通孔(61)とが形成されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の燃料ポンプモジュール。
- 前記電動モータ(28)に電力を供給するための接続端子(62)が、当該接続端子(62)の内端部(62a)を前記第1貯留部部(58)内に臨ませるように前記モジュールケース(27)を貫通しつつ当該モジュールケース(27)に配設され、前記接続端子(62)の前記内端部(62a)が、前記第1連通孔(60)よりも横断面積を大きくした前記第2連通孔(61)よりも上方に配置されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の燃料ポンプモジュール。
- 前記モジュールケース(27)内に前記燃料フィルタ(32)を囲む環状の未浄化室(46)が前記第2貯留部(59)とは独立して形成され、前記燃料タンク(23)から燃料を導くための燃料導管(63)が、前記未浄化室(46)に通じるようにして前記戻り管(56)よりも上方で前記モジュールケース(27)に連設されることを特徴とする請求項2〜4のいずれか1項に記載の燃料ポンプモジュール。
