Abstract
Description
(1)基材と、該基材の上に形成された、水素含有量が3原子%以下および厚さが3μm以上の硬質炭素皮膜と、を有する摺動部材であって、
前記硬質炭素皮膜のマルテンス硬さをHMとし、インデンテーション硬さをHITとして、HM/HITが0.40以上であることを特徴とする摺動部材。
図1を参照して、本実施形態による摺動部材100は、基材10と、基材10の上に形成された硬質炭素皮膜12と、を有する。
本実施形態における基材10は、摺動部材として必要な強度を有するものであれば特に限定されないが、例えば鉄、鋳鉄、超硬合金、ステンレス鋼、アルミニウム合金など導電性を有する材料が挙げられる。さらに、基材10に対して、窒化クロムや窒化チタンなど金属窒化物、金属炭窒化物、金属炭化物などの硬質皮膜やめっき処理、鉄系材料の場合は焼入焼戻しなどの硬化処理、窒化処理を施してもよい。例えば、ピストンリングには、従来から適用されているマルテンサイト系ステンレス鋼、バネ鋼、炭素鋼などを用いることが好ましい。
本実施形態における硬質炭素皮膜12は、ダイヤモンドライクカーボン(DLC:Diamond Like Carbon)皮膜12である。
図2を参照して、本発明の一実施形態によるピストンリング200は、上記の摺動部材100からなるものであり、その外周面20が図1に示すDLC皮膜の表面12Aとなる。ピストンリング200は、摺動面となる外周面20が高い耐剥離性と高い耐摩耗性とを両立させたDLC皮膜の表面12Aとなっているので、高負荷の摺動環境下でも耐剥離性と耐摩耗性に優れる。なお、ピストンリングの内周面22および上下面24A,24Bは、図1に示す構造とする必要はない。
各発明例および比較例において、DLC皮膜の厚さ、表面粗さ、HM、及びHITを既述の方法により得た。ナノインデンテーション硬さ試験機はエリオニクス社製ENT−1100aを用いた。また、HMとHITの試験値を用いてHM/HITを算出した。なお、HMとHITの試験では、発明例1〜6,8及び比較例1〜4は押し込み荷重を50mNとし、発明例7及び比較例5は押し込み荷重を6mNとすることによって、ダイヤモンド圧子の最大押し込み深さを膜厚の1/10以下になるようにした。

- 基材と、該基材の上に形成された、水素含有量が3原子%以下および厚さが3μm以上の硬質炭素皮膜と、を有する摺動部材であって、
前記硬質炭素皮膜のマルテンス硬さをHMとし、インデンテーション硬さをHITとして、HM/HITが0.40以上であることを特徴とする摺動部材。 - 前記HITは、15GPa以上50GPa以下である、請求項1に記載の摺動部材。
