- 液体を収容している体積部内に伸びる細長いストリップと、
前記ストリップに沿って該ストリップによって支持された一連のヒーターであって、該ヒーターの各々は、前記体積部内の異なる深さにある、一連のヒーターと、
前記ストリップに沿って該ストリップによって支持された一連の温度センサであって、該温度センサの各々は、前記体積部内の異なる深さにある、一連の温度センサ
とを備える装置であって、
前記温度センサは、前記体積部内の前記液体の液位を示すために、前記ヒーターからの熱の放散を示す信号を出力することからなる、装置。 - 前記細長いストリップはシリコンから構成される、請求項1の装置。
- 前記一連のヒーター及び前記一連の温度センサが封入される、請求項1の装置。
- 前記一連のヒーターと前記一連の温度センサは交互に配置される、請求項1の装置。
- 前記温度センサの各々がダイオードを備える、請求項1の装置。
- 前記液体を収容するための前記体積部を画定するチャンバーと、
前記体積部から液体を受け取るために前記チャンバーに流体結合されたプリントヘッド
をさらに備える、請求項1の装置。 - 前記一連のヒーターは第1のヒーターを備え、前記一連の温度センサは、前記第1のヒーターから20μm以下の距離だけ離れて配置された温度センサを備える、請求項1の装置。
- 温度センサによって出力された信号を受け取って、該信号に基づいて、前記体積部内の前記液体の液位を決定するための処理ユニットをさらに備える請求項1の装置。

前記一連のヒーター及び前記一連の温度センサを支持する第1の層と、
前記一連のヒーター及び前記一連の温度センサを覆うように、前記第1の層上に形成された第2の層
を備えることからなる、請求項1の装置。 - 前記一連の温度センサが、第1の密度と第2の密度を有し、前記第1の密度は、前記ストリップの第1の垂直部分に沿った密度であり、前記第2の密度は、前記ストリップの第2の垂直部分に沿った密度であって、前記第1の密度とは異なることからなる、請求項1の装置。
- 体積部に沿って垂直に配置されたヒーターから熱パルスを放出するステップと、
前記放出された熱パルスの各々について、温度センサへの熱の伝達を検出するステップと、
前記放出された熱パルスの各々について検出された前記熱の伝達に基づいて、前記体積部内の液体の液位を決定するステップ
を含む方法。 - 各々の熱パルスは、ある持続期間を有し、前記放出されたパルスについての前記熱の伝達が、少なくとも前記持続時間が経過した後に検出される、請求項11の方法。
- 前に検出された前記体積部内の前記液体の液位に基づく順番で、前記ヒーターを順次パルス駆動するステップをさらに含む、請求項11の方法。
- 液体を収容するための体積部を有するチャンバーと、
前記チャンバーに沿って支持された一連のヒーターであって、該ヒーターの各々は、前記体積部内の異なる深さにある、一連のヒーターと、
前記チャンバーに沿って支持された一連の温度センサであって、該温度センサの各々は、前記体積部内の異なる深さにある、一連の温度センサ
とを備える液体容器であって、
前記温度センサは、前記ヒーターからの熱パルスに応答して、前記体積部内の前記液体の液位を示す信号を出力することからなる、液体容器。 - 前記チャンバーの前記体積部内に伸びるストリップをさらに備える請求項14の液体容器であって、前記ストリップは、前記一連のヒーター及び前記一連の温度センサを支持することからなる、請求項14の液体容器。
