Claims (8)
- 軸線に沿う方向に並設された複数の刃部を有し、前記軸線を中心に回転駆動されるカッタと、回転自在にワークを保持するワーク保持手段と、前記軸線に沿った前記カッタの軸線方向に沿って前記カッタを前記ワークに対して相対的に移動させるカッタ駆動手段と、制御手段とを備え、
前記各刃部が、前記カッタの軸線周りに周設された複数の切刃から構成されて、前記カッタの周面に各々別々にリング状に形成され、
前記カッタと前記ワークとの相対移動と前記ワークの回転とを連動させ、前記カッタを回転させた状態で前記ワークに押し当てることで、前記ワークの周面に歯車又は歯車状の断面を有する軸の外形形状を形成する加工装置において、
前記制御手段は、前記カッタ駆動手段が、前記カッタを前記軸線の周りに一方向に回転させるとともに、前記カッタを前記軸線に沿ってワークに対して相対的に2つの反対の方向に往復移動させるように構成され、
前記制御手段は、前記ワーク保持手段を、前記カッタの往復移動に応じて、前記ワークを回転させて、前記カッタが前記軸線に沿った一方の方向に移動するときに、前記ワーク保持手段が前記ワークを正回転し、前記カッタが前記軸線に沿った他方の方向に移動するときに、前記ワーク保持手段が前記ワークを逆回転するように構成され、前記カッタの各前記刃部を前記ワークの周面に接触させて、前記ワークに対して歯車又は歯車状の断面を有する前記軸の前記外形形状を形成するように切削することを特徴とする加工装置。 - 前記切削は、スプライン軸又はセレーション軸からなる前記歯車状の断面を有する前記軸を形成する、請求項1に記載の加工装置。
- 前記制御手段は、前記カッタによる往復移動の進行方向および進行速度とワークの回転方向および回転速度とが同期するよう、前記カッタ駆動手段による前記カッタの往復移動および前記ワーク保持手段による正転および逆転を制御する、請求項1又は2に記載の加工装置。
- 前記複数の切刃のそれぞれは、前記カッタの周面に所定の間隔で周設される請求項1〜3の何れか一項に記載の加工装置。
- 前記カッタの軸線周りに周設された複数の切刃から構成されて、前記カッタの周面に各々別々にリング状に形成された複数の刃部が軸線に沿う方向に複数並設されたカッタを軸線の周りに一方向に回転させるとともに、前記カッタの軸線方向にワークに対して相対的に2つの反対の方向に往復移動させ、前記カッタの往復移動に応じて前記カッタが前記軸線に沿った一方の方向に移動するときに前記ワークを正回転させ、前記カッタが前記軸線に沿った他方の方向に移動するときに前記ワークを逆回転させ、前記カッタの各前記刃部を前記ワークの周面に接触させて、前記ワークに対して歯車又は歯車状の断面を有する軸の外形形状を形成するように切削することを特徴とする加工方法。
- 前記切削は、スプライン軸又はセレーション軸からなる前記歯車状の断面を有する前記軸を形成する、請求項5に記載の加工方法。
- 前記カッタの往復移動に応じて前記軸線に沿った一方の方向に移動するときに前記ワークを正回転させるステップ及び前記ワークを逆回転させるステップは、前記カッタによる往復移動の進行方向および進行速度と前記ワークの回転方向および回転速度とを同期させるステップを含む、請求項5又は6に記載の加工方法。
- 前記複数の切刃のそれぞれは、前記カッタの周面に所定の間隔で周設される請求項5〜7の何れか一項に記載の加工方法。
