Abstract
Description
以下、本発明に係るコネクタの第1の実施形態について、図面を参照して説明する。本実施形態のコネクタ11は、図1に示すように、互いに嵌合する雌ハウジング12(一方のハウジング)と雄ハウジング13(他方のハウジング)とを備えて構成され、雌ハウジング12と雄ハウジング13が嵌合することで、雌ハウジング12に収容された雌端子14と雄ハウジング13に収容された雄端子15が、電気的に接続されるようになっている。雌端子14と雄端子15には、それぞれ電線16,17が接続されている。雌ハウジング12は、雄ハウジング13との嵌合時に雄ハウジング13の内側に嵌め込まれてロックされるようになっている。図1では、各ハウジングにそれぞれ2本ずつ端子が収容されているが、端子の収容数は2本に限られない。なお、以下では、図1のX方向を前後方向、Y方向を幅方向、Z方向を高さ方向とし、各コネクタの嵌合方向をそれぞれ前方と定義し、図1の上側を上方と定義して説明する。
本実施形態が、第1の実施形態と相違する点は、雌側筒状体24と雄側筒状体47の嵌合による防水構造において、図13(a)に示すように、雌側筒状体24と雄側筒状体47の互いに対向する面のうち、雌側筒状体24の対向面71に、全周にわたって雄側筒状体47の対向面(不図示)と接触する環状突起72を設け、その環状突起72に、雌側筒状体24の前端側から後端側に向かって突出高さが低くなる傾斜面73を形成した点である。
本実施形態が、第1の実施形態と相違する点は、雌側筒状体24と雄側筒状体47の嵌合による防水構造において、雄側筒状体47の前方への突出長さのみを長くした点にある。図14は、雌側筒状体24と雄側筒状体47の嵌合状態を模式化した図である。ここで、図14(a),(b)は、雌側筒状体24の前方への突出長さと、雌側筒状体24の外周面と雄側筒状体47の内周面が接する前後方向の長さ(ラップ長)が同じである。

Claims (4)
- 一方のハウジングの挿入部が他方のハウジングの筒部に挿入されて互いに嵌合する一対のハウジングを備え、
前記一方のハウジングの前記挿入部の外周面に、前記挿入部の前端から後方にわたって前記外周面から突出する複数の外リブが、周方向に分散して設けられ、
前記他方のハウジングの前記筒部の内周面に、前記筒部の前端から後方にわたって前記内周面から突出する複数の内リブが、周方向に分散して設けられ、
前記外リブと前記内リブが周方向に互いの位置をずらして設けられるコネクタ。 - 前記外リブは、前記挿入部の外周面の幾何学的中心を通る面に対して面対称の位置に配置され、
前記内リブは、前記筒部の内周面の幾何学的中心を通る面に対して面対称の位置に配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコネクタ。 - 前記外リブは、前記挿入部の前端から設定距離だけ離れた位置から後方にわたって突出高さを高くした段付き状に形成され、或いは、前記内リブは、前記筒部の前端から設定距離だけ離れた位置から後方にわたって突出高さを高くした段付き状に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記一対のハウジングは、それぞれ、端子を収容するキャビティと、前記キャビティの開口を内側に位置させて前記ハウジングに支持され、互いに嵌合する一対の樹脂製の筒状体とを有し、前記一対の筒状体の嵌合時に、前記一対の筒状体の互いに対向する面の一方の面に全周にわたって他方の面と接触する環状突起が設けられ、
前記環状突起は、前記筒状体の前端側から後端側に向かって低くなる傾斜面を有してなる請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載のコネクタ。
