Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の実施の形態1に係る液晶表示装置500の断面図である。液晶表示装置500は、アクティブマトリクス型の液晶表示装置である。また、液晶表示装置500は、FFS方式の液晶表示装置である。
次に、本実施の形態の特徴的な構成について説明する。本実施の形態では、構成の異なる2種類の画素が使用される。以下においては、当該構成の異なる2種類の画素の一方を、「画素Pxa」ともいう。また、以下においては、当該構成の異なる2種類の画素の他方を、「画素Pxb」ともいう。表示領域Rg1を構成する複数の画素Pxの各々は、構成の異なる画素Pxaおよび画素Pxbのいずれかである。
Claims (2)
- 映像を表示するための表示領域を有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記表示領域は、行列状に配置された複数の画素から構成されており、
前記液晶表示装置は、
前記複数の画素の各々に設けられている第1電極と、
第2電極と、を備え、
前記第1電極および前記第2電極は、前記映像の表示のために使用される電極であり、
前記複数の画素の各々は、構成の異なる第1画素および第2画素のいずれかであり、
前記第1画素および前記第2画素は、互いに隣接して配置されており、
前記第2電極は、前記第1画素および前記第2画素にわたって設けられており、
前記第1画素の前記第1電極は、前記第2電極の上方に設けられており、
前記第1画素の前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間には第1絶縁膜が設けられており、
前記第2画素の前記第1電極は、前記第2電極の下方に設けられており、
前記第2画素の前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間には第2絶縁膜が設けられている
液晶表示装置。 - 平面視において、前記表示領域を構成する平面に沿った方向は、互いに直交する第1方向および第2方向を含み、
前記第1画素および前記第2画素は、前記第1方向に沿った方向において、交互に配置されており、
前記第1画素および前記第2画素は、さらに、前記第2方向に沿った方向において、交互に配置されている
