Abstract
【解決手段】ポリカルボン酸と、該ポリカルボン酸の架橋剤である、アミノ基及びイミノ基の少なくとも一方を1分子あたり2以上有するアミン系化合物とを含有する熱硬化性水性バインダーの製造方法であって、上記ポリカルボン酸のカルボキシ基の少なくとも一部を揮発性塩基化合物でブロックして、ブロック化ポリカルボン酸を得るブロック工程と、上記ブロック化ポリカルボン酸と上記アミン系化合物とを混合する混合工程と、を備える製造方法。

Description
ブロック工程は、ポリカルボン酸1分子が有する複数のカルボキシ基のうち少なくとも一部のカルボキシ基を揮発性塩基化合物でブロックするものである。ここで、「ブロック」とは、カルボキシ基を揮発性塩基化合物により立体的に遮蔽することを意味する。ブロックにより形成されたブロック化ポリカルボン酸において、ポリカルボン酸と揮発性塩基化合物とは恒久的な結合が生じておらず、少なくとも混合工程においてアミン系化合物を添加する際に、アミン系化合物の反応を阻むことができる程度にブロック化されていればよい。そして、最終的に得られる水性バインダーを熱硬化させる場合においては、揮発性塩基化合物が揮発等によりカルボキシ基から離れ(脱ブロック化)、脱ブロック化で生じたポリカルボン酸とアミン系化合物とが反応することが好ましい。
混合工程においては、ブロック化ポリカルボン酸とアミン系化合物とを混合する。アミン系化合物としては、アミノ基及びイミノ基の少なくとも一方を1分子あたり2以上有するものであり、ポリカルボン酸の架橋剤となるものであれば特に限定されないが、例えば、脂肪族ポリアミン、脂環族ポリアミン及び芳香族ポリアミンが挙げられる。中でも、水溶性の観点から、脂肪族ポリアミンが好ましく、アルキレンポリアミン骨格を有する脂肪族ポリアミンがよい。
次亜リン酸ナトリウムを連鎖移動剤としてラジカル重合させたポリアクリル酸(重量平均分子量8,000、酸価660mgKOH/g)を水で溶解させ、樹脂溶液(固形分45質量%)を得た。固形分換算で100質量部の樹脂溶液に対して、ブロック率が表1に記載の値となる量の28%水酸化アンモニウム水溶液を加えた。水酸化アンモニウム水溶液を加えた樹脂溶液に、さらにポリエチレンイミン(重量平均分子量600、アミン価1120mgKOH/g)水溶液(ポリエチレンイミン濃度40質量%)を加えて水性バインダーを得た。ここで、ポリエチレンイミンの量を、固形分換算で(A)0.60質量部の場合と、(B)16.25質量部の場合と、の二通り行い、それぞれの場合について得られた水性バインダーの混合状態を目視で観察した。結果を表1に示す。表1において、◎は析出物がなく均一な混合物が得られる場合、○は析出物が僅かにあるが実用上問題のない場合、×は析出がある場合をそれぞれ意味する。
次亜リン酸ナトリウムを連鎖移動剤としてラジカル重合させたポリアクリル酸(重量平均分子量12,000、酸価716mgKOH/g)を水で溶解させ、樹脂溶液(固形分50質量%)を得た。固形分換算で100質量部の樹脂溶液に対して、ブロック率が表1に記載の値となる量の28%水酸化アンモニウム水溶液を加えた。水酸化アンモニウム水溶液を加えた樹脂溶液に、繰り返し単位がエチレンアミンのアルキレンポリアミン(重量平均分子量350、アミン価1200mgKOH/g)水溶液(アルキレンポリアミン濃度40質量%)を加えて水性バインダーを得た。ここで、上記アルキレンポリアミンの量を、固形分換算で(C)2.3質量部の場合と、(D)15.75質量部の場合との二通り行い、それぞれの場合について得られた水性バインダーの混合状態を目視で観察した。結果を表2に示す。表2において、◎は粘稠物の分離がなく均一な混合物が得られる場合、○は粘稠物の分離が僅かにあるが実用上問題のない場合、×は粘稠物の分離がある場合をそれぞれ意味する。
Claims (4)
- ポリカルボン酸と、該ポリカルボン酸の架橋剤である、アミノ基及びイミノ基の少なくとも一方を1分子あたり2以上有するアミン系化合物と、を含有する熱硬化性水性バインダーの製造方法であって、
前記ポリカルボン酸のカルボキシ基の少なくとも一部を揮発性塩基化合物でブロックして、ブロック化ポリカルボン酸を得るブロック工程と、
前記ブロック化ポリカルボン酸と前記アミン系化合物とを混合する混合工程と、を備える製造方法。 - 前記混合工程における前記アミン系化合物は、該アミン系化合物の濃度が20〜80質量%の水溶液である、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記ブロック工程の前に、前記アミン系化合物以外の架橋剤と前記ポリカルボン酸とを混合する予備混合工程を備える、請求項1又は2に記載の製造方法。
- 前記アミン系化合物以外の前記架橋剤は、ポリオールである、請求項3記載の製造方法。
