Claims (6)
- 非磁性基板上に少なくとも、軟磁性下地層と、直上の層の配向性を制御する配向制御層と、磁化容易軸が非磁性基板に対し主に垂直に配向した垂直磁性層と、保護層が設けられた磁気記録媒体であって、前記垂直磁性層は基板側から第1の磁性層、第2の磁性層、第3の磁性層、第4の磁性層をこの順で含み、
前記第1の磁性層から前記第4の磁性層はグラニュラー構造の磁性層であり、
前記第1の磁性層から前記第4の磁性層を構成する磁性粒子が連続した柱状晶であり、
前記第1の磁性層と前記第2の磁性層との間、及び、前記第2の磁性層と前記第3の磁性層との間には各々交換結合制御層を有し、
前記第3の磁性層と前記第4の磁性層は接し、
前記第1の磁性層から前記第4の磁性層は強磁性結合し、
前記第1から第4の磁性層の磁気異方性定数をKui、飽和磁化をMsi、膜厚をtiとしたとき(iは第1〜第4の磁性層の数字に対応する。)、
Kui>Kui+1 (i=1、2)、
Msi・ti>Msi+1・ti+1 (i=1、2)、
Kui<Kui+1 (i=3)、
Msi・ti<Msi+1・ti+1 (i=3)、
の関係を満たすことを特徴とする磁気記録媒体。 - 前記Ms1が、1200〜500emu/ccの範囲内、
前記Ku1が、12×106〜5×106erg/ccの範囲内、
前記Ms2が、1100〜400emu/ccの範囲内、
前記Ku2が、11×106〜4×106erg/ccの範囲内、
前記Ms3が、1000〜300emu/ccの範囲内、
前記Ku3が、10×106〜4×106erg/ccの範囲内、
前記Ms4が、900〜200emu/ccの範囲内、
前記Ku4が、9×106〜2×106erg/ccの範囲内、
前記t1、t2、t3、t4が、1〜10nmの範囲内、
であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の磁気記録媒体。 - 前記第4の磁性層と保護層との間に第5の磁性層を含み、
前記第5の磁性層は非グラニュラー構造の磁性層であり、
前記第1の磁性層から前記第5の磁性層を構成する磁性粒子が連続した柱状晶であり、
前記第4の磁性層と前記第5の磁性層は接し、
前記第1の磁性層から前記第5の磁性層は強磁性結合し、
前記第5の磁性層の磁気異方性定数をKu5、飽和磁化をMs5、膜厚をt5としたとき、
Ku4>Ku5、
Ms4・t4>Ms5・t5、
の関係を満たすことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の磁気記録媒体。 - 前記第5の磁性層の磁気異方性定数をKu5、飽和磁化をMs5、膜厚をt5が、
Ku3>Ku5、
Ms3・t3<Ms5・t5、
の関係を満たすことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の磁気記録媒体。 - 前記Ms5が、950〜250emu/ccの範囲内、
前記Ku5が、8×106〜1×106erg/ccの範囲内、
前記t5が、1〜10nmの範囲内、
であることを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載の磁気記録媒体。 - 磁気記録媒体と、
該磁気記録媒体に情報を記録再生する磁気ヘッドとを備えた磁気記録再生装置であって、
前記磁気記録媒体が請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の磁気記録媒体であることを特徴とする磁気記録再生装置。
