Abstract
Description
実施例及び比較例で形成された液晶層の表面硬度は、ASTM D3363によって500gの鉛筆荷重と250mm/minの鉛筆移動速度で測定した。
位相差は、550nmまたは589nmの波長の光を使用して測定する。16個のミュラーマトリクス(Muller Matrix)を測定することができる装備であるAxoscan(Axomatrics社製)を使用して、製造社のマニュアルによって位相差フィルムの16個のミュラーマトリクスを測定し、これを通じて位相差を抽出する。
面抵抗は、面抵抗測定機(HIRESTA−UP(MCP−HT450)、Mitsubishi Chemical社製)を利用して製造社のマニュアルによって測定した。
実施例及び比較例での液晶の配向性は、液晶層を光吸収軸が互いに垂直に配置された2枚の偏光子の間に位置させて、光を一側面に照射しながら液晶フィルムにより発現される位相差及びその均一度を観察して評価した。
光反応性重合体である5−ノルボルネン−2−メチル−(4−メトキシシンナーメート)20g、ジペンタエリスリトールヘキサ(メタ)アクリレート20g及び光開始剤(Irgacure OXE02、Ciba−Geigy社製(スイス))5gをシクロペンタノン980gに溶解させて配向膜を形成するための塗工液を製造し、前記塗工液をTAC(Triacetyl cellulose)フィルム上に乾燥後の厚さが約1,000Åになるように塗布した後、70℃の乾燥オーブンで2分間熱風乾燥させて膜を形成した。その後、膜が形成されたTACフィルムを一方向に移動させながら高圧水銀ランプ(80w/cm)を光源で使用して、ワイヤグリッド偏光板(Moxtek社製)を媒介で直線偏光された紫外線を照射しながら3m/分の速度で1回露光させて配向性を付与した。
重合性液晶化合物と反応性非液晶性化合物の混合物に帯電防止剤(Methacroylcholine Chloride、TCI社製)を3重量%の濃度になるように添加して使用したこと以外は、実施例1と同一な過程を経て液晶層を形成した。
TACフィルムの代わりに一面にTDA社の伝導性高分子(AedotronTM)でコーティング層を形成したCOP(Cycloolefin polymer)フィルムを使用したこと以外は、実施例1と同一な過程を経て液晶層を形成した。
TACフィルムの代わりに一面にTDA社の伝導性高分子(AedotronTM)でコーティング層を形成したCOP(Cycloolefin polymer)フィルムを使用したこと以外は、実施例5と同一な過程を経て液晶層を形成した。
配向膜用塗工液の製造時に、TDA社の伝導性高分子(AedotronTM)を約10重量%の割合で添加した塗工液を使用したこと以外は、実施例5と同一な過程を経て液晶フィルムを製作した。
実施例1〜実施例8、比較例1及び比較例2で製作された光学フィルムを、通常的なLCDの視認側偏光板の上部に、前記視認側偏光板の吸収軸と液晶層の光軸(遅相軸)が約45度を成すように配置し、LCDを駆動させながら一般的な偏光メガネの裏面に輝度計を位置させて輝度を測定した結果、実施例の光学フィルムが位置した場合に、偏光メガネの偏光軸の変化によって有意な輝度の変化が観察されなかった。比較例1及び比較例2の場合にも初期には実施例の場合と類似な結果が出たが、使用過程でスクラッチなどの損傷が容易に誘発されて性能が経時的に大きく落ちることを確認した。
Claims (18)
- 多官能性重合性液晶化合物を含む重合性液晶物質を含み、配向された状態で硬化されて表面硬度が1H以上の層を形成することができる液晶組成物。
- 重合性液晶物質は、単官能性重合性液晶化合物をさらに含む請求項1に記載の液晶組成物。
- 重合性液晶物質内に多官能性液晶化合物の重量割合が50重量%以上である請求項1または2に記載の液晶組成物。
- 多官能性液晶化合物は、重合性官能基が2個である液晶化合物及び重合性官能基が3個以上の液晶化合物を含む請求項3に記載の液晶組成物。
- 重合性官能基が3個以上の液晶化合物の液晶物質内での重量割合が8重量%以上である請求項4に記載の液晶組成物。
- 硬化されて表面硬度が2H以上の層を形成する請求項3から5のいずれか一項に記載の液晶組成物。
- 重合性液晶化合物と反応することができる官能基を2個以上含む非液晶性化合物をさらに含む請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の液晶組成物。
- 重合性液晶化合物と反応することができる官能基を4個以上含む非液晶性化合物をさらに含む請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の液晶組成物。
- 重合性液晶物質内に多官能能性液晶化合物の重量割合が45重量%以上である請求項8に記載の液晶組成物。
- 非液晶性化合物は、重合性液晶化合物と反応することができる官能基を4個以上含み、分子量または重量平均分子量が200〜5,000または200〜1,000の化合物である請求項8または9に記載の液晶組成物。
- 非液晶性化合物は、重合性液晶物質100重量部に対して、5重量部以下の割合で含まれる請求項8から10のいずれか一項に記載の液晶組成物。
- 硬化されて表面硬度が2H以上の層を形成することができる請求項8から11のいずれか一項に記載の液晶組成物。
- 面抵抗が1012Ω以下の層を形成する請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の液晶組成物。
- 帯電防止剤をさらに含む請求項13に記載の液晶組成物。
- 配向層上に請求項1から14のいずれか一項に記載の液晶組成物の層を形成し、前記組成物の液晶化合物が配向された状態で前記液晶化合物を重合させる工程を含む光学フィルムの製造方法。
- 配向層には、帯電防止剤が含まれている請求項15に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
- 液晶組成物の層には帯電防止剤が含まれている請求項15または16に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
- 配向層は、基材層上に形成されており、配向層と基材層との間には、帯電防止層が形成されている請求項15から17のいずれか一項に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
