実験リアクタと模擬的な排気ガスとを使用して、コーティングされたフィルタのH2S制御性能が判定された。リーンNOxトラップの脱硫酸化中に生成されたガスの代わりに、リーン排気ガス混合物とリッチ排気ガス混合物とが使用された。全てのサンプルは、16時間にわたり、800℃の熱水条件下で事前にエイジングされた。リアクタは第1評価温度まで加熱され、リーンガス混合物は、20秒間にわたりサンプルを通過した。ガス混合物は次いで、20秒間にわたりリッチガス混合物に切り替えられた。試験中、リーンガス混合物とリッチガス混合物を交替させるこのサイクルが反復された。ガス混合物の濃度は表1に示されており、残部は窒素である。
フィルタサンプルの下流のH2Sの濃度は継続的に測定され、H2Sのピーク濃度が判定された。この値は、H2Sスリップと呼ばれる。5サイクルのリーン/リッチ運転にわたって測定された平均的なH2Sスリップが、図1に示されている。
図1は、本発明の(実施例1による)触媒化基材モノリスを通過した模擬的なリッチ排気ガス、及び、(比較例2による)比較用の触媒化基材を通過した排気ガスに関する、H2Sスリップを示す。図1は、本発明の区域に分けられた触媒化基材が、単一のゾーンにおける単一の卑金属酸化物、又は、卑金属酸化物の一混合物よりも効率的に硫化水素の排出を制御することを、明確に示している。
スラリーは、アンモニアと、<15ミクロンのd90粒子サイズに粉砕されたセリア−ジルコニア混合酸化物とを使用して作製された。2:1のPt:Pd重量比を伴う、10g/ft3の最終的なコーティング済触媒添加量を付与するために、好適な量の可溶性のPt塩及びPd塩が添加された。亜鉛酸化物の粉末が添加され、スラリーは均質化するよう攪拌された。コーティングスラリーは、確立されている粒子フィルタコーティング技術(例えばWO2011/080525参照)を使用して、市販の壁面流炭化ケイ素フィルタ基材のチャネルに適用された。このコーティングは、100℃で乾燥され、次いで500℃でか焼された。最終的な触媒上の亜鉛の量は250gNOxft−3だった。NOx

図2は、実施例4、実施例5及び実施例6の触媒化基材モノリスを通過した模擬的なリッチ排気ガスに関する、H2Sスリップを示す。図1は、亜鉛酸化物を含む実施例4とマンガン酸化物を含む実施例2はどちらも、硫化水素除去のための卑金属酸化物を含有しない実施例3よりも効果的に、硫化水素の排出を制御することを、明確に示している。
実施例4、実施例5及び実施例6の触媒化基材モノリスは、CO酸化性能について試験された。表3の導入ガス混合物を使用して、模擬的な触媒活性試験(SCAT)ガス装置内で、エイジングされたコア部が試験された。それぞれの場合において、残部は窒素である。
表4は、触媒化基材モノリスに関するT50発火温度を示している。亜鉛酸化物を含む実施例4は、硫化水素制御のための卑金属酸化物を含有しない実施例6と同様の発火を示す。マンガン酸化物を含む実施例5は、実施例4と実施例6の両方よりも高温の発火を示す。表4は、CO酸化性能に、実施例5内に存在するマンガン酸化物が、実施例4内に存在する亜鉛酸化物よりも大きな悪影響を与えていることを示す。NOx

Claims (21)
- 第1区域と第2区域とを含む、区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリスであって、前記第1区域と前記第2区域は軸方向に直列に配設され、前記第1区域は、担体に担持された白金族金属と、鉄酸化物、マンガン酸化物、銅酸化物、亜鉛酸化物、ニッケル酸化物、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択された第1の卑金属酸化物、又は、無機酸化物に担持された、鉄、マンガン、銅、亜鉛、ニッケル、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択された第1の卑金属とを含み、前記第2区域は、ゼオライトに担持された銅又は鉄と、鉄酸化物、マンガン酸化物、銅酸化物、亜鉛酸化物、ニッケル酸化物、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択された第2の卑金属酸化物、又は、無機酸化物に担持された、鉄、マンガン、銅、亜鉛、ニッケル、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択された第2の卑金属とを含み、前記第2の卑金属は前記第1の卑金属とは異なる、区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域内の前記白金族金属は、パラジウム、白金、ロジウム、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、かつ、前記担体は、無機酸化物、ゼオライト、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域内の、前記第1の卑金属酸化物、又は、無機酸化物に担持された前記第1の卑金属は、前記担体に担持された前記白金族金属から物理的に隔離される、請求項1又は2に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域は、リーンNOxトラップ組成物を含み、担体に担持された前記白金族金属は、前記リーンNOxトラップ組成物の成分である、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域又は前記第2区域では、前記無機酸化物は、アルミナ、シリカ、チタニア、ジルコニア、セリア、ニオビア、タンタル酸化物、モリブデン酸化物、タングステン酸化物、それらのうちの任意の混合酸化物又は複合酸化物、及び、それらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記基材モノリスは、フィルタ基材、又はフロースルー基材モノリスである、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記基材モノリスは、入口端部、出口端部、前記入口端部と前記出口端部との間に延在する基材軸方向長さ、及び、壁面流基材の内壁によって画定された複数のチャネルを含む壁面流モノリスフィルタである、フィルタ基材であり、前記複数のチャネルは、開入口端部と閉出口端部とを有する入口チャネル、及び、閉入口端部と開出口端部とを有する出口チャネルを含む、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域は、前記壁面流モノリスフィルタの前記入口端部の前記入口チャネル内、又は前記入口チャネル上に配置され、前記第2区域は、前記壁面流モノリスフィルタの前記出口端部の前記出口チャネル内、又は前記出口チャネル上に配置される、請求項7に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域と前記第2区域との間には重複が実質的に存在しない、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域は前記基材モノリスの軸方向の全長の10から90パーセントを覆い、かつ、前記第2区域は前記基材の前記軸方向の全長の90から10パーセントを覆う、請求項9に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域と前記第2区域との間に重複が存在する、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第1区域と前記第2区域の各々は、前記基材モノリスの前記軸方向の全長の10から90パーセントを覆う、請求項11に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 前記第2区域の後ろに軸方向に直列に、かつ、前記第1区域から対向する前記基材の端部に配置された第3区域を含み、前記第3区域は担持された白金族金属を含む、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリス。
- 内燃エンジンのための排気システムであって、
(a)リーンNOxトラップと、
(b)区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリスとを含み、
前記区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリスは、前記リーンNOxトラップよりも下流に配置される、排気システム。 - 第1区域は上流側に配向される、請求項14に記載の排気システム。
- 請求項6に従属する場合、前記区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリスの基材モノリスはフロースルー基材モノリスであり、かつ、前記排気排出システムは粒子フィルタを含む、請求項14又は15に記載の排気システム。
- 前記リーンNOxトラップの上流に配置された酸化触媒を含む、請求項14から16のいずれか一項に記載の排気システム。
- 内燃エンジンと、請求項14から17のいずれか一項に記載の排気システムとを含む、装置。
- 請求項18に記載の装置を含む車両。
- 内燃エンジンからの排気ガスを処理する方法であって、請求項14から17のいずれか一項に記載の排気排出システムを通るよう前記排気ガスを方向付けることを含む、方法。
- 請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の区域に分けられた触媒化基材モノリスを作製する方法であって、前記第1区域と前記第2区域は、ウォッシュコート方式を使用して、基材モノリス上に配置され、前記第1区域は、前記第2区域をウォッシュコートすることに先立って、前記基材モノリス上でウォッシュコートされる、方法。
