Description
i)1つ又は複数の白金族金属、第一のセリア含有材料、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属、及び第一の無機酸化物を含む、第一の層、並びに、
ii)1つ又は複数の貴金属、第二のセリア含有材料及び第二の無機酸化物を含む、第二の層、
を含むものである。
「ウォッシュコート」という用語は、当該技術分野ではよく知られており、通常は触媒の製造中に基材に塗布される接着性コーティングを指す。
i)1つ又は複数の白金族金属、第一のセリア含有材料、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属、及び第一の無機酸化物を含む、第一の層、並びに、
ii)1つ又は複数の貴金属、第二の無機酸化物、及び第二のセリア含有材料を含む、第二の層、
を含み、
第一のセリア含有材料の合計ローディングが、第二のセリア含有材料の合計ローディングよりも大きい。
以下では本発明を、以下の非限定的な実施例によって説明する。
特に記載しない限り、全ての材料は市販で手に入り、知られた供給元から得られた。
Al2O3.CeO2.MgO-BaCO3複合材材料は、Al2O3(56.14%).CeO2(6.52%).MgO(14.04%)を酢酸バリウムで含浸し、得られたスラリーを噴霧乾燥することによって形成した。それからこれを、650℃で1時間、か焼した。目標とするBaCO3濃度は、23.3重量%である。
[Al2O3.CeO2.MgO.Ba].Pt.Pd.CeO2の調製:組成物A
2.07g/in3の[Al2O3.CeO2.MgO.BaCO3](上記一般調製に従って製造)を、蒸留水によってスラリーにし、それからミリングして、平均粒径を減少させた(d90=13~15μm)。このスラリーに、30g/ft3のマロン酸Pt溶液、及び6g/ft3の硝酸Pd溶液を添加し、均質になるまで撹拌した。Pt/Pdを担体に1時間、吸着させた。このスラリーに、2.1g/in3の事前にか焼したCeO2を添加し、それから0.2g/in3のアルミナバインダを添加した。
マロン酸Pt(65gft-3)及び硝酸Pd(13gft-3)を、[Al2O3(90.0%).LaO(4%)](1.2gin-3)を水に入れたスラリーに添加した。Pt及びPdは、CeO2(0.3gin-3)を添加する前に1時間、アルミナ担体に吸着させた。こうして生じたスラリーをウォッシュコートにし、天然増粘剤(ヒドロキシエチルセルロース)で粘稠化した。
マロン酸Pt(65gft-3)及び硝酸Pd(13gft-3)を、[Al2O3(90.0%).LaO(4%)](1.2gin-3)を水に入れたスラリーに添加した。Pt及びPdをアルミナ担体に1時間、吸着させた。こうして生じたスラリーをウォッシュコートにし、天然増粘剤(ヒドロキシエチルセルロース)で粘稠化した。
硝酸Rh(5gft-3)を、CeO2(0.4gin-3)を水に入れたスラリーに添加した。Rh吸着を促進させるためにNH3水溶液を、pH6.8になるまで添加した。続いて、マロン酸Pt(5gft-3)をこのスラリーに添加し、アルミナ(ベーマイト、0.2gin-3)及びバインダ(アルミナ、0.1gin-3)を添加する前に1時間、担体に吸着させた。こうして生じたスラリーを、ウォッシュコートにした。
ウォッシュコートA、C及びDをそれぞれ、セラミックモノリス又は金属モノリス上に順次、標準的なコーティング手順を用いてコーティングし、100℃で乾燥させ、500℃で45分間、か焼した。

触媒1及び2は、10%のH2O、20%のO2及び残部のN2から成るガス流中、800℃で16時間、水熱的にエージングした。これらについての性能試験は、定常状態の放出サイクル(300秒のリーンと、10秒のリッチというサイクル3回、目標NOx暴露は1g)によって、1.6リットルのベンチを搭載したディーゼルエンジンを用いて行った。排出は、触媒の前と後で測定した。
触媒のNOx吸蔵性能は、NOx吸蔵効率をNOx吸蔵の関数として測定することにより、評価した。150℃での1つの代表的なサイクル(これに失活予備条件が続く)からの結果が、以下の表1に示されている。

- リーンNOxトラップ触媒であって、
i)1つ又は複数の白金族金属、第一のセリア含有材料、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属、及び第一の無機酸化物を含む、第一の層、並びに、
ii)貴金属、第二のセリア含有材料及び第二の無機酸化物を含む、第二の層であって、貴金属が、白金とパラジウムとの混合物、又は白金とパラジウムとの合金である、第二の層、
を含み、
第一のセリア含有材料の合計ローディングが、第二のセリア含有材料の合計ローディングよりも大きく、
第二の層における貴金属の合計ローディングの、第一の層における1つ又は複数の白金族金属の合計ローディングに対する比が、w/w基準で少なくとも2:1である、リーンNOxトラップ触媒。 - 第一のセリア含有材料の合計ローディングの、第二のセリア含有材料の合計ローディングに対する比が、w/w基準で少なくとも2:1である、請求項1に記載のリーンNOxトラップ触媒。
