Claims (11)
- 表示領域と周辺領域を含む基板、
前記基板の上に位置する薄膜トランジスタ、
前記薄膜トランジスタと接続される画素電極、
前記画素電極と対向して位置するルーフ層、
前記ルーフ層の上に位置するキャッピング層、そして
前記周辺領域に位置し、前記キャッピング層の側面部を囲む遮断膜を含み、
前記表示領域には前記画素電極と前記ルーフ層の間に複数のマイクロキャビティ(Microcavity)が形成されており、前記マイクロキャビティは液晶物質を含む液晶層を形成し、
前記遮断膜の上部面レベルは前記液晶層の上部面レベルより高いことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記表示領域で、
前記ルーフ層の下に位置する下部絶縁層、そして
前記ルーフ層の上に位置する上部絶縁層をさらに含み、
前記下部絶縁層および前記上部絶縁層を無機膜で形成し、
前記遮断膜は前記下部絶縁層、前記ルーフ層および前記上部絶縁層と対応する有機/無機構造層を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記有機/無機構造層は第1無機層、有機層および第2無機層を含み、前記第1無機層は前記下部絶縁層に対応し、前記第2無機層は前記上部絶縁層に対応し、前記有機層は少なくとも一つのカラーフィルタを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1無機層は前記下部絶縁層と接続され、前記第2無機層は前記上部絶縁層と接続されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2無機層は、前記有機層の上部面および側面を覆うことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記キャッピング層の上部面の上に位置するバリア層をさらに含み、前記バリア層は窒化ケイ素を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記キャッピング層の上部面と前記遮断膜の上部面は同一のレベルに位置することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記ルーフ層の下に位置する下部絶縁層、そして
前記ルーフ層の上に位置する上部絶縁層をさらに含み、
前記下部絶縁層および前記上部絶縁層を無機膜で形成し、
前記遮断膜は前記表示領域から延長された前記下部絶縁層、有機層および前記表示領域から延長された前記上部絶縁層を含む有機/無機構造層であり、
前記有機層は互いに異なる色を有するカラーフィルタが積層された構造を含み、前記カラーフィルタのうちの一つが前記ルーフ層と接続されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記有機/無機構造層の下に位置する透明電極パターンをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機/無機構造層の下に位置する犠牲層残留パターンをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記遮断膜と前記表示領域に位置する前記ルーフ層は互いに離隔されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
