R及びR’はそれぞれ独立して、以下のもの:アルキル基(典型的には、直鎖状又は分岐状C1〜C18アルキル)、アリール基(典型的には、直鎖状又は分岐状C6〜C24アリール)、(メタ)アクリロイル基又は−Hから選択される。)

− 5〜75wt%、より詳細には20〜75wt%、更により詳細には30〜75wt%の総固体含有量(又は固形分含有量)。(概して、固形分含有量は、少なくとも50wt%、より典型的には少なくとも60wt%である。典型的には、固形分含有量は、多くても70wt%、より典型的には多くても67wt%、更に典型的には多くても65wt%である。かかる高い固形分含有量を有する安定な放射線硬化性水性組成物を得ることができることは、かなり稀である。)
− 20〜2,000mPa・sの25℃で測定される粘度。(典型的には、粘度は、25℃で、少なくとも300mPa・s、及び、典型的に多くても700mPa・sである。)
− 2〜10、好ましくは4〜8のpH値。
− 100〜1,000nm、好ましくは300〜700nmの平均液滴サイズ。
− 0〜40℃、より好ましくは0〜10℃、最も好ましくは0℃未満の最小膜形成温度。
60℃の加熱浴と接続された二重壁ステンレス鋼容器に、例1の化合物(A)55.9g(86部)、MAXEMUL(登録商標)7101 5.2g(8部)及びDOWANOL(登録商標)DPM3.9g(6部)を入れる。温度が60℃に到達するまで、直径60mmを有するコールズ(cowless)プロペラを用いて、回転速度100rpmでブレンドを撹拌する。続いて、回転速度2000rpmで混合物を撹拌する一方で、水16.25gを室温で、蠕動ポンプを使用して約5分の間に一定流速で添加して、約80%の固体含有量に到達させる。最大の粘度に相当する転相点を観察して、回転速度2000rpmで、更に20分間、60℃の一定温度で、混合物を更にせん断する。次に、更なる量の水18.75gを室温で、蠕動ポンプを使用して約5分の間に一定流速で混合物に添加する一方で、コールズ回転速度を、200rpmにまで徐々に減少させて、温度を室温に減少させる。最終的なエマルジョンは、約65%の固体含有量を有する。

60℃の加熱浴と接続された二重壁ステンレス鋼容器に、例1の特許のウレタンアクリレート51.9g(86部)、MAXEMUL(登録商標)7101 5.2g(8部)及びDOWANOL(登録商標)DPM3.9g(6部)を入れる。温度が60℃に到達するまで、直径60mmを有するコールズプロペラを用いて、ブレンドを回転速度100rpmで撹拌する。更なる量の4gのIRR(登録商標)768を均質になるまで添加する。続いて、混合物を回転速度2000rpmで撹拌する一方で、水16.25gを室温で、蠕動ポンプを使用して約5分の間に一定流速で添加して、約80%の固体含有量に到達させる。最大の粘度に相当する転相点を観察して、回転速度2000rpmで、更に20分間、60℃の一定温度で混合物を更にせん断する。次に、更なる量の水18.75gを室温で、蠕動ポンプを使用して約5分の間に一定流速で混合物に添加する一方で、コールズ回転速度を、200rpmまで徐々に減少させて、温度を室温に低下させる。最終的なエマルジョンは、約65%の固体含有量を有する。
容器に100gのUcecoat(登録商標)7849を入れ、100rpmの速度で機械的撹拌器を使用して周囲温度で混合する。例1のエマルジョン30gを、約5分間で容器へ徐々に添加する。最終的な水ベースの生成物は、約45%の固体含有量を有する。
油加熱浴と接続され、且つ撹拌器、冷却器、ディーン−スターク、及び散気装置を装着した二重壁ガラス反応器に、60℃で予め溶融されたMaxemul(登録商標)7101(IOH 18〜22mg KOH/g)300g、ヒドロキノンモノメチルエーテル0.67g、p−tert−ブチルカテコール0.5g、50%での次亜リン酸0.4g、リン酸0.6g、65%でのp−トルエンスルホン酸1.53g、トルエン31.57g及びアクリル酸15.7gを、速度100rpmで撹拌しながら入れる。2リットル/時間の一定気流を用いて、温度60℃にまで加熱する。連続して、反応媒質を最大128℃に加熱する(150℃でのジャケット温度を用いて)。酸価を反応の6時間後に測定して、アクリル酸のエステル化を制御する。定常値には、典型的に12〜15時間後に到達し、ディーン−スタークの底部にある水2.31gに相当する。続いて、温度を105℃に冷却させて、MeHQを更に0.67g添加する。ストリッピングは、100℃〜105℃の温度で6時間の間に、徐々に完全真空にすることによって開始される。溶媒が残存しない場合には、生成物を最大温度60℃に冷却させて、反応器をたたき出す。
Claims (22)
- (I)少なくとも1つのエチレン性不飽和化合物(A)、及び(II)交互ポリアルキレンオキシドセグメントで本質的に構成される少なくとも1つの乳化剤(B)を含む水性放射線硬化性組成物であって、前記乳化剤が、アルキル基、アリール基、ヒドロキシル基及び/又は共重合性エチレン性不飽和基から選択される1つ又は複数の基を任意選択で有し、前記乳化剤(B)が、少なくとも5のHLB値を有する上記水性放射線硬化組成物。
- 前記乳化剤(B)が、一般式(I):

R1、R2又はR3はそれぞれ独立して、直鎖状又は分岐状のC2〜C12アルキルであり、
R1≠R2であり、R3≠R2であり、
X=6〜100であり、
Y=6〜100であり、
Z=0〜100であり、
R及びR’はそれぞれ独立して、以下のもの:直鎖状又は分岐状のC1〜C18アルキル、直鎖状又は分岐状のC6〜C24アリール、(メタ)アクリロイル又は−Hから選択される。)
により表される、請求項1に記載の組成物。 - 乳化剤(B)が、交互ポリエチレンオキシドセグメント及びポリプロピレンオキシドセグメントで本質的に構成され、前記乳化剤が、アルキル基、アリール基、アリル基、(メタ)アクリロイル基及び/又はヒドロキシル基から選択される1つ又は複数の基を任意選択で有し、前記乳化剤(B)が、少なくとも6のHLB値を有する、請求項1又は2に記載の組成物。
- 化合物(単数又は複数)(A)が、少なくとも4meq/gのエチレン性不飽和基の量を特徴とし、さらに、典型的には1分子当たり少なくとも3つのエチレン性不飽和基の官能性を特徴とする、請求項1から3までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 化合物(単数又は複数)(A)が、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレート(単数又は複数)及び/又はポリエステル(メタ)アクリレート(単数又は複数)から選択される、請求項1から4までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- ウレタン(メタ)アクリレート(単数又は複数)が、400〜20,000ダルトンの分子量を有し、ポリエステル(メタ)アクリレート(単数又は複数)が、200〜20,000ダルトンの分子量を有する、請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 乳化剤(単数又は複数)(B)が、ジブロック及び/又はトリブロックコポリマーから選択される、請求項1から6までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 乳化剤(B)(単数又は複数)が、(i)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリエチレンオキシド、及び(ii)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリプロピレンオキシドの交互配列を含むジブロックコポリマーであり、前記乳化剤(単数又は複数)が、末端アルキル官能基、ヒドロキシル官能基及び/又は(メタ)アクリロイル官能基から選択される1つ又は複数の基を任意選択で有する、請求項7に記載の組成物。
- 乳化剤(単数又は複数)(B)が、(i)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリエチレンオキシド、(ii)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリプロピレンオキシド、及び(iii)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリエチレンオキシドの交互配列を含むトリブロックコポリマーであり、前記乳化剤(単数又は複数)が、末端アルキル官能基、ヒドロキシル官能基及び/又は(メタ)アクリロイル官能基から選択される1つ又は複数の基を任意選択で有する、請求項7に記載の組成物。
- 前記乳化剤(単数又は複数)(B)が、少なくとも1つの末端(メタ)アクリロイル基、及び任意選択で少なくとも1つの末端アルキル基を有する、請求項1から9までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記乳化剤(単数又は複数)(B)が、10〜17のHLBを有する、請求項1から10までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記HLB値が、乳化剤のブレンドのHLB値の加重平均である、請求項1から11までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 化合物(A)及び(B)の総重量に対して、50〜99.9wt%の化合物(A)及び0.1〜50wt%の化合物(B)を含む、請求項1から12までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 760mmHgで100℃〜300℃の沸点を有する少なくとも1つの共溶媒、並びに/或いは有機塩基及び/又は無機塩基から選択される少なくとも1つの中和剤を更に含む、請求項1から13までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 5〜75wt%の固形分含有量を有する、請求項1から14までのいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- (I)請求項1から15までのいずれか一項に記載される少なくとも1つのエチレン性不飽和化合物(A)、及び(II)交互ポリアルキレンオキシドセグメントを含む少なくとも1つの乳化剤(B)を含む水性放射線硬化性組成物であって、前記乳化剤(B)が、エチレン性不飽和基を有しないことを特徴とし、前記乳化剤(B)が、少なくとも5のHLBを有することを特徴とする上記組成物。
- 前記乳化剤(B)が、アルキル基、アリール基及び/又はヒドロキシル基から選択される1つ又は複数の基を有する、請求項16に記載の組成物。
- 交互ポリアルキレンオキシドセグメントで本質的に構成されるエチレン性不飽和非イオン性乳化剤(B2)であって、少なくとも1つの共重合性エチレン性不飽和基、並びに任意選択でアルキル基及び/又はヒドロキシル基から選択される少なくとも1つの基を有する上記乳化剤。
- ポリエチレンオキシドセグメント及びポリプロピレンオキシドセグメントを含む請求項18に記載の乳化剤であって、少なくとも1つの共重合性エチレン性不飽和基、並びに任意選択でアルキル基及び/又はヒドロキシル基から選択される少なくとも1つの基を有し、少なくとも5、好ましくは少なくとも6のHLB値を有する上記乳化剤。
- (i)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリエチレンオキシド、及び(ii)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリプロピレンオキシドの交互配列を含むジブロックコポリマー、又は(i)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリエチレンオキシド、(ii)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリプロピレンオキシド、及び(iii)6〜100単位を含む重合度を有するポリエチレンオキシドの交互配列を含むトリブロックコポリマーである請求項18に記載の乳化剤であって、前記ジブロック又はトリブロックコポリマーが、少なくとも1つの末端(メタ)アクリロイル基、並びに任意選択で少なくとも1つの末端ヒドロキシル基及び/又はアルキル基を有する上記乳化剤。
- 請求項1から17までのいずれか一項に記載の少なくとも1つの組成物を含むコーティング組成物、インク、重ね刷りワニス又は接着剤。
- 物品又は基材をコーティングする方法であって、請求項21に記載の組成物を、物品又は基材の少なくとも1つの表面に塗布する工程、続いて組成物を硬化させる工程を含み、硬化工程が典型的には、水を蒸発させる工程により先行される上記方法。
