Claims (19)
- 内側シェルと、
外側シェルと、
内側シェルと外側シェルとの間に配置された断熱材と、
内側シェルにより形成されたキャビティと連通している端部を備えた入力チューブと、
内側シェル内に配置された、エンジン排気ガスを処理する基板と、
複数の孔を備えたバッフル板とを有し、該バッフル板は、排気ガスが基板に流入する前に孔を通るように配置され、バッフル板は内側シェルおよび入口チューブの端部を支持していることを特徴とする排気ガス処理装置。 - 前記バッフル板は、入口チューブと係合する周方向に延びたフランジを有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記バッフル板は、内側シェルの端部を受入れる凹部を有していることを特徴とする請求項2記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 入口板を更に有し、該入口板は、入口チューブを受入れる第1孔および出口シェルを受入れる第2孔を備えていることを特徴とする請求項3記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記入口チューブはバッフル板に圧嵌めされていることを特徴とする請求項4記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記バッフル板および入口板は、互いに実質的に平行に延びておりかつ互いに間隔を隔てていることを特徴とする請求項5記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記バッフル板と入口板との間に配置された断熱材を更に有することを特徴とする請求項6記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記基板の外表面と内側シェルの内表面との間に配置された圧縮性マットを更に有することを特徴とする請求項7記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記バッフル板は内側シェルを包囲する管状壁部を有し、該管状壁部は、内側シェルへの溶接部を受入れる周方向に間隔を隔てた複数のスロットを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記入口チューブにより定められる排気ガス流の軸線は、基板を通る排気ガス流の軸線に対して実質的に平行であり、両軸線は外側シェルの半径と内側チューブの内径との和に実質的に等しいか、これより小さい距離オフセットしていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 外側フードに連結された外側管状ボディを備えた外側シェルと、
内側フードに連結された内側管状ボディを備えた内側シェルと、
内側シェルと外側シェルとの間にサンドイッチされた断熱材と、
内側シェルにより形成されたキャビティと連通している端部を備えた入口チューブと、
内側シェル内に配置された、エンジン排気ガスを処理するための基板と、
入口チューブおよび外側管状ボディに固定された入口板と、
該入口板に対して実質的に平行に延びているバッフル板とを有し、該バッフル板は内側管状ボディの端部に固定されかつ入口チューブの端部を支持しており、バッフル板は複数の孔を備え、該孔は、入口チューブを通る排気ガス流が180°反転して、基板に流入する前に基板を通るように配置されていることを特徴とする排気ガス処理装置。 - 前記バッフル板は、内側シェルの端部を受入れる凹部を有していることを特徴とする請求項11記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記バッフル板は、入口チューブと係合する周方向に延びたフランジを有することを特徴とする請求項12記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記入口チューブはバッフル板に圧嵌めされていることを特徴とする請求項13記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記バッフル板と入口板との間に配置された断熱材を更に有することを特徴とする請求項14記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記基板の下流側で内側シェル内に配置された他の基板を更に有することを特徴とする請求項11記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記入口チューブを通る全ての排気ガス流が、両基板を通ることを特徴とする請求項16記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記外側フードは複数の内向き突出部を備え、該内向き突出部は内側フードの複数の外向き突出部に固定されており、内側フードの大部分はバッフル板に対して実質的に平行に延びていることを特徴とする請求項11記載の排気ガス処理装置。
- 前記バッフル板は内側シェルを包囲する管状壁部を有し、該管状壁部は、内側シェルへの溶接部を受入れる周方向に間隔を隔てた複数のスロットを備えていることを特徴とする請求項11記載の排気ガス処理装置。
