Description

Claims (10)
- 基板の平坦面に沿って形成され、その上の中心を中心にして前記面上に同心円状に位置する隆起部によって形成されるパターンを含む光格子カプラであって、隆起部の各隣接ペアが、溝によって隔てられている光格子カプラと、
前記隆起部のうちの最も外側の隆起部の近くで末端をなす第1の端部を有する複数の光導波路であって、前記第1の端部が、前記隆起部のうちの前記最も外側の隆起部に沿ってほぼ均一に間隔をおいて配置され、前記中心に対して放射方向に向けられる光導波路と
を備える光デバイス。 - 隆起部の前記パターンが、前記中心に対して放射方向にチャープである、請求項1に記載の光デバイス。
- 前記複数の放射方向導波路の個数に等しい個数の入出力ポートを有するスターカプラをさらに備え、前記入出力ポートの各々が、前記放射方向導波路のうちの対応する放射方向導波路に接続される、請求項1に記載の光デバイス。
- 複数の偏光ビームスプリッタをさらに備え、各偏光ビームスプリッタが、前記スターカプラの対応するポートに結合される、請求項3に記載の光デバイス。
- 前記円形格子カプラにわたって位置すると共に前記円形格子カプラに向いている端部を有するリングコアマルチモード光ファイバをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の光デバイス。
- 基板の平坦面に沿って光媒体の格子カプラを形成するステップであって、前記格子が、前記面上の中心を中心にして同心円状に位置する複数の隆起部を含み、隣接した隆起部の各ペアが溝によって隔てられている、格子カプラを形成するステップと、
前記隆起部のうちの最も外側の隆起部の近くで末端をなす第1の端部を有する複数の光導波路を形成するステップであって、前記第1の端部が、前記複数の隆起部のうちの前記最も外側の隆起部に沿ってほぼ均一に間隔をおいて配置され、前記中心に対して放射方向に向けられる、複数の光導波路を形成するステップと
を含む方法。 - 前記複数が、対応する複数の光信号を前記最も外側の隆起部に供給するように構成され、前記対応する複数の位相が、前記最も外側の隆起部の周りで2πのゼロでない整数倍だけ進む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の導波路が、対応する複数の光信号をほぼ等しい位相で前記最も外側の隆起部に供給するように構成される、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の放射方向導波路の個数に等しい個数の入出力ポートを有する前記基板の前記表面に沿って、スターカプラを形成するステップをさらに含み、前記形成するステップが、各入出力ポートを前記複数の放射方向導波路のうちの対応する放射方向導波路に接続するステップを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 各偏光ビームスプリッタが、前記スターカプラの対応するポートに接続される複数の偏光ビームスプリッタを用意するステップと、
前記複数の偏光ビームスプリッタを対応する複数の光源に結合するステップであって、前記偏光ビームスプリッタの各々が、前記複数の光信号源のうちの2つの信号源に接続され、前記複数の光信号源のうちの前記2つの信号源のうちの第1の信号源が、TMモードを生成するように構成され、前記複数の光信号源のうちの前記2つの信号源のうちの第2の信号源が、TMモード光を生成するように構成される、結合するステップと
をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
