Abstract
【解決手段】ニュートラル惰性走行を開始させる路面Rの上り勾配の上限値θn1は、フリーラン惰性走行を開始させる路面Rの上り勾配の上限値θf1よりも高く設定されていることから、上り勾配が比較的大きく惰性走行距離が短くなるところでは、ニュートラル惰性走行が実施されてエンジン12の停止・再始動が行われないので、車両のドライバビリティーの低下が抑制される。また、上り勾配が比較的小さく惰性走行距離が長くなるところでは、フリーラン惰性走行が実施されてエンジン12への燃料供給が停止されるので、車両の燃費が得られる。これにより、上り勾配の惰性走行時の車両の燃費と運転性とを両立させることができる。

Description
これに対して、ニュートラル惰性走行ではエンジンの停止・再始動の必要がないため、惰性走行距離に関わらすドライバビリティの悪化は生じない。しかし、上り勾配の小さいとき、すなわち惰性走行距離が長いときにもニュートラル惰性走行を実施すれば、エンジンを停止させる機会が減少し車両の燃費は相対的に悪化する。

Claims (2)
- エンジンと、前記エンジンと駆動輪との間の動力伝達経路に設けられてその動力伝達経路を解放するクラッチ装置とを備え、前記エンジンと車輪とを連結して走行する通常走行と、前記エンジンを停止させた状態で前記クラッチ装置を解放して惰性走行するフリーラン惰性走行と、前記エンジンを回転させた状態で前記クラッチ装置を解放して惰性走行するニュートラル惰性走行とを行なう車両の走行制御装置であって、
前記ニュートラル惰性走行を開始させる路面の上り勾配の上限値は、前記フリーラン惰性走行を開始させる路面の上り勾配の上限値よりも高く設定されている
ことを特徴とする車両の走行制御装置。 - 前記車両の惰性走行実施要求時において、車両が走行する路面の上り勾配が予め定められた勾配判定値以上であるときには前記ニュートラル惰性走行が開始され、車両が走行する路面の上り勾配が予め設定された勾配判定値を下回る場合は前記フリーラン惰性走行が開始される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車両の走行制御装置。
