約1658.32(±46.41)MPaのヤング率、41.03(±0.70)の降伏応力、約0.8150(±0.0853)MPa・m1/2の破壊靱性、約395μmの延性、及び約55〜58℃のTgを特徴とする、二次被覆組成として有用であることが既に知られていた基材配合物を用いて、2つの異なるコーティング組成物を作製した。
この実験に用いたガラスファイバは、コア径が70μmより大きく、NAが0.24より大きく、全モード励振伝送帯域が850nmにおいて500MHz-kmより大きい、多モードファイバである。これらのファイバを組成物1または組成物2で、それぞれの厚さを約12.5μmに調節し、少なくとも5m/秒の線引き速度を用いながら、(米国メリーランド州ゲイサースバーグ(Gaithersberg)のFusion UV Systemsの)Fusion紫外線ランプを1〜3個用いて硬化させて、被覆した。。

Claims (5)
- 組成物において、
1つ以上のアクリレート含有化合物を含む光硬化性基材組成物、
適する波長の光に露光されると前記光硬化性基材組成物の重合化を促進する光重合開始剤、及び
前記適する波長の前記光への露光後に酸基を遊離する光酸発生化合物、
を含むことを特徴とする組成物。 - 前記光重合開始剤が、ケトン系光重合開始剤またはホスフィンオキシド系光重合開始剤、あるいはこれらの組合せであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記光酸発生化合物が、オニウム塩、鉄アレーン錯体またはフルオランテン錯体であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記光酸発生化合物が、(4-メチルフェニル)[4-(2-メチルプロピル)フェニル]ヨードニウムPF6、8-[2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-オクタフルオロ-1-(ノナフルオロブチルスルホニルオキシイミノ)-ペンチル]-フルオランテン、またはη5-2,4-シクロペンタジエン-1-イル[(1,2,3,4,5,6-η)-(1-メチルエチル)ベンゼン]-鉄(+)-ヘキサフルオロホスフェートであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の組成物。
- ガラスファイバ及び前記ガラスファイバを実質的に封入する請求項1に記載の組成物で形成されたコーティングを有することを特徴とする光ファイバ。
