Abstract
Description
Li1+xMyMn2-x-yO4-zQz (1)
Li2CO3とMnO2を均等の比率で混合し、この混合物を800℃で焼成して、リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物を調製した。次いで、80%重量のリチウムマンガンベースの酸化物、7%重量の黒鉛、および7%重量のDENKA BLACKを、spex粉砕(spex-milling)によって混合して、錯体を調製した。この錯体を、溶媒としてのN-メチルピロリドン中で、6%重量のポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)を混合して、活物質スラリを調製した。
spex粉砕を実行しなかったことを除いては、実施例1と同じようにして活物質スラリを調製した。

- リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物を含むカソード活物質であって、
前記リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物が、スピネル構造を有し、3V領域まで放電する間に粒子の表面から粒子の中心への方向で、立方構造から正方構造へと結晶構造の相転移が発生する起点となるコアシェル相転移を示し、前記正方構造の導電率を改善するためにシェルにおいて導電性材料を含む、カソード活物質。 - 前記リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物が以下の式1で表され、
Li1+xMyMn2−x−yO4−zQz (1)
ここで、0≦x≦0.3、0≦y≦1、および0≦z≦1であり、Mは、Al、Mg、Ni、Co、Fe、Cr、V、Ti、Cu、B、Ca、Zn、Zr、Nb、Mo、Sr、Sb、W、Ti、およびBiからなる群から選択された少なくとも1つの要素を含み、Qは、N、F、S、およびClからなる群から選択された少なくとも1つの要素を含む、請求項1に記載のカソード活物質。 - コアの導電率が、Li2MyMn2−yO4−zQzの導電率よりも大きく、ここで0≦y≦1かつ0≦z≦1である、請求項1に記載のカソード活物質。

- 前記カソード活物質が、リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物、粒子の直径が相対的に大きい第1の炭質材料、および粒子の直径が相対的に小さい第2の炭質材料の錯体である、請求項1に記載のカソード活物質。
- 前記2次粒子が、前記リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物の前記1次粒子間に第2の炭質材料が配置された構造を有することができ、第1の炭質材料が、前記リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物の前記2次粒子の外面に配置される、請求項4に記載のカソード活物質。
- 前記リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物の前記2次粒子が球面形態であるとき、前記第2の炭質材料が、主に前記2次粒子の外部円周領域における前記1次粒子間に配置される、請求項6に記載のカソード活物質。
- 前記第2の炭質材料が、前記2次粒子の半径(r)に対して前記2次粒子の中心から0.3r〜1rの間の位置で、前記1次粒子間に配置される、請求項7に記載のカソード活物質。
- 前記第1の炭質材料の粒子直径が、0.3μm〜30μmであり、前記第2の炭質材料の粒子の直径が、前記第1の炭質材料の前記粒子直径よりも小さい範囲の10nm〜500nmである、請求項5に記載のカソード活物質。
- カソード活物質の総重量に基づいて、それぞれ、前記第1の炭質材料の含有量が1〜15重量%の範囲にあり、前記第2の炭質材料の含有量が1〜15重量%の範囲にあり、前記第1および第2の炭質材料の総重量が2〜20重量%の範囲にある、請求項5に記載のカソード活物質。
- 前記スピネル型リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物と第1の炭質材料および第2の炭質材料とを高エネルギー粉砕によって混合することにより、前記カソード活物質が形成される、請求項1に記載のカソード活物質。
- 前記スピネル型リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物を焼成している間、第1の炭質材料および第2の炭質材料を加えることによって前記カソード活物質が形成される、請求項1に記載のカソード活物質。
- 第1の炭質材料および第2の炭質材料、またはそれらの前駆物質を、スピネル型リチウムマンガンベースの酸化物を合成するのに使用されるリチウム化合物およびマンガン化合物に加えることによって、前記カソード活物質が形成される、請求項12に記載のカソード活物質。
- 前記第1の炭質材料が、天然黒鉛および人造黒鉛からなる群から選択された少なくとも1つを含み、前記第2の炭質材料が、DENKA BLACK、チャネルブラック、ファーネスブラック、ケッチェンブラック、およびカーボンブラックからなる群から選択された少なくとも1つを含む、請求項5に記載のカソード活物質。
- 結晶構造内に(440)面が主に形成され、その結果、前記カソード活物質のリチウムイオン拡散率が高くなる、請求項1に記載のカソード活物質。
- 請求項1〜15のいずれか一項に記載のカソード活物質を含む、カソード材料。
- 請求項16に記載のカソード材料を集電板に被覆することによって調製される、2次電池用のカソード。
- 請求項17に記載の2次電池用のカソードを備える、リチウム2次電池。
- 前記リチウム2次電池が、中規模および大規模の装置用の電源である電池モジュール用のユニットセルとして使用される、請求項18に記載のリチウム2次電池。
- 前記中規模および大規模の装置が、電気自動車、ハイブリッド電気自動車、プラグインハイブリッド電気自動車、または電力貯蔵システムを含む、請求項19に記載のリチウム2次電池。
