Abstract
Description
a)少なくとも部分的に中和されていてよい、少なくとも1の、エチレン系不飽和の、酸基を含有するモノマー、
b)少なくとも1の架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1の開始剤、
d)場合により、a)で挙げられたモノマーと共重合可能な1以上のエチレン系不飽和モノマー、及び
e)場合により、1以上の水溶性ポリマー
を含有するモノマー溶液又は−懸濁液を重合させ、得られた水性ポリマーゲルを強制通風型ベルト式乾燥機内で連続コンベヤベルトを用いて乾燥させ、粉砕し、分級し、かつ場合により熱的に表面後架橋させることを含む、吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造法において、該連続コンベヤベルトの表面が少なくとも0.9μmの粗さRzを有していることを特徴とする方法により解決された。
実施例1(水性ポリマーゲルの製造)
37.3質量%ナトリウムアクリレート水溶液4485gを、アクリル酸427g及び水1024gと混合し、窒素で不活性化した。この混合物を、窒素で不活性化させたWerner & Pfleiderer LUK 8.0 K2ニーダー(2軸、Σ型ブレード)中へ入れ、順に、15回エトキシ化されたトリメチロールプロパントリアクリレート11.96g、0.5質量%アスコルビン酸水溶液20.50g及び15質量%過硫酸ナトリウム水溶液31.66gと混合した。該ニーダーを、最大回転数(より高速の軸 約98rpm、より低速の軸 約49rpm、約2:1の比)で撹拌した。過硫酸ナトリウムの添加直後に、ニーダージャケットを74℃の温かい熱媒体で加熱した。最大温度に達した後、ジャケット加熱のスイッチを切り、該ニーダー中でさらに15分間後反応させた。得られたポリマーゲルを63℃に冷却し、排出し、後続の試験に使用した。
実施例1からの水性ポリマーゲル1234gを乾燥トレイに注ぎ入れ、強制通風型乾燥棚中で175℃で370分間乾燥させた。該乾燥トレイは、高さ5cm、内部寸法23.7×23.7cmの特殊鋼フレームと、交換可能な特殊鋼底板(材料番号14301)とからなっていた。特殊鋼底板は正方形であり、2×20mmの開口部を有するスリットの平行な列を有しており、かつ特殊鋼フレームにぴったりとはめ込まれていた。

Claims (10)
- 以下:
a)少なくとも部分的に中和されていてよい、少なくとも1の、エチレン系不飽和の、酸基を含有するモノマー、
b)少なくとも1の架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1の開始剤、
d)場合により、a)で挙げられたモノマーと共重合可能な1以上のエチレン系不飽和モノマー、及び
e)場合により、1以上の水溶性ポリマー
を含有するモノマー水溶液又はモノマー水性懸濁液を重合させ、得られた水性ポリマーゲルを強制通風型ベルト式乾燥機内で連続コンベヤベルトを用いて乾燥させ、粉砕し、分級し、かつ場合により熱的に表面後架橋させることを含む、吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造法において、該連続コンベヤベルトの表面が少なくとも0.9μmの粗さRzを有していることを特徴とする方法。 - 連続コンベヤベルトがオーステナイト鋼からなっている、請求項1記載の方法。

- 連続コンベヤベルトが少なくとも1mの幅を有している、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- コンベヤベルト速度が0.005〜0.05m/sである、請求項1から5までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 強制通風型ベルト式乾燥機内での乾燥前のポリマーゲルの水含有量が30〜70質量%である、請求項1から6までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 強制通風型ベルト式乾燥機内での乾燥後のポリマーゲルの水含有量が0.5〜15質量%である、請求項1から7までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 連続コンベヤベルト上のポリマーゲル充填層の高さが2〜20cmである、請求項1から8までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 吸水性ポリマー粒子が少なくとも15g/gの遠心分離保持力を有している、請求項1から9までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
