Abstract
Description
本発明の栄養液は、ヒトに対して経口投与するのに適しており、意図する投与温度で飲用に適した粘度を有している脂肪、タンパク質及び炭水化物の少なくとも1つを含む。これらの組成物は、最も典型的にはエマルジョン(例えば、水中油型、油中水型または複合水性エマルジョン)として、更により典型的には連続水性相及び不連続油相を有する水中油型エマルジョンとして処方され得る。栄養液は長期貯蔵可能であり得る。
栄養液は、経口栄養製品中に使用するのに適しており、そうでなくとも栄養液の必須要素または特徴と適合するHMBまたはその源を含む。
栄養液は、HMBに加えて脂肪、タンパク質及び炭水化物の少なくとも1つを含む。通常、多量栄養素が本明細書中に規定されている栄養液の必須要素と適合し得るならば、公知であるかまたはそうでなくとも栄養製品中に使用するのに適しているどんな脂肪、タンパク質及び炭水化物の源も本発明において使用するのに適している。
本発明の栄養液は、製品安定性を改善し、苦味及び後味の経時的発生を最小限とするために選択した量の可溶性タンパク質を含み得る。
本発明の栄養組成物は、製品安定性を改善し、苦味及び後味の経時的発生を最小限とするためにエマルジョン中の可溶性カルシウム結合能(SCBC)/全可溶性カルシウムの選択した重量比を含むエマルジョン実施形態を含み得る。
比=SCBC/[可溶性カルシウム]
SCBC=(0.32×[可溶性クエン酸]+0.63[可溶性リン酸]+0.013×[可溶性タンパク質])
に従って求められる。
本発明の栄養液は、更に対象とする個人において健康な筋肉を発達または維持するのに使用するために所望によりカルシウムを含み得る。HMBカルシウムまたはHMBカルシウム一水和物をHMB源として使用するときカルシウムの一部または全部が与えられ得る。しかしながら、他のカルシウム源が栄養液の必須要素と適合するならば、どんな他のカルシウム源を使用してもよい。
本発明の栄養組成物は、更に対象とする使用者の健康な筋肉を維持するのを助けるためにビタミンDを含み得る。ビタミンD形態には、ビタミンD2(エルゴカルシフェロール)及びビタミンD3(コレカルシフェロール)、または栄養製品中に使用するのに適している他の形態が含まれる。
栄養液は、更に製品の物理的、化学的、快楽的または加工特性を修正し得、または対象とする集団において使用するとき医薬成分または追加栄養成分として役立ち得る他の任意成分を含み得る。これらの任意成分の多くは公知であるかまたはそうでなくとも他の栄養製品中に使用するのに適しており、任意成分が経口投与するのに安全且つ有効であり、選択した製品形態中の必須成分及び他の成分と適合性であるならば本明細書中に記載されている栄養液中にも使用され得る。
本明細書中に記載されている栄養液は、補充、主要または単独の栄養源を与えるために及び/または本明細書中に記載されている1つ以上の効果を個人に与えるために有用である。この方法によれば、栄養液を所要により所望レベルの栄養を最も典型的には1日につき1〜2サービングの形態で、1日につき1または2つ以上の分割用量で与えるために経口投与され得、例えばサービングサイズは典型的には約100〜約300ml、例えば約150〜約250ml、約190ml〜約240mlの範囲であり、各サービングは1サービングあたり約0.4〜約3.0g、例えば約0.75〜約2.0g、約1.5gのHMBカルシウムを含有している。
栄養液は、栄養エマルジョンまたは他の栄養液を製造するため、最も典型的には栄養水性エマルジョンまたは乳を主成分とするエマルジョンを製造するための公知であるかまたはそうでなくとも適当な方法により製造され得る。
本発明の栄養液は、重量基準でその全部または大部分がプラスチック、金属、ガラス、紙、厚紙であり得る容器、または前記材料の組み合わせからなるパッケージ(例えば、プラスチック本体と金属キャップ、蓋、リムまたは他の少量包装成分を有する缶)に包装される。
本実施例は、再構成したペディアシュア(登録商標)パウダー(栄養エマルジョン)中のHMBの緩衝効果を説明する。再構成したペディアシュア(登録商標)パウダー(Abbott Laboratories,オハイオ州コロンバス)(HMBなし)の対照サンプル及び再構成したパウダー1kgあたり5.17gのHMBで強化した再構成したペディアシュア(登録商標)パウダーのサンプルに既知量の希塩酸を室温で添加する。HMB含有サンプルを強化するために使用するHMBはHMBカルシウム一水和物からカルシウムをカチオン交換除去することにより調製する。サンプルに遊離HMBを添加する前に、そのpHを水酸化ナトリウムを用いて6.7に調節する。対照サンプルには等モル量のナトリウムを塩化ナトリウムとして添加する。塩酸の添加から1分後、各サンプルのpHを連続撹拌しながら測定する。pH測定値から、水素イオン濃度(H+)を計算する。結果を下表に示す。
本実施例は、再構成したペディアシュア(登録商標)パウダー(栄養エマルジョン)中のHMBの緩衝効果を説明する。再構成したペディアシュア(登録商標)パウダー(HMBなし)の対照サンプル及び再構成したパウダー1kgあたり5.17gのHMBで強化した再構成したペディアシュア(登録商標)パウダーのサンプルに既知量(1.32mg/kg−再構成したパウダー)の過酸化水素を室温で添加する。HMB含有サンプルを強化するために使用するHMBは、HMBカルシウム一水和物からカルシウムをカチオン交換除去することにより調製する。サンプルに遊離HMBを添加する前に、そのpHを水酸化ナトリウムを用いて6.7に調節する。対照サンプルには等モル量のナトリウムを塩化ナトリウムとして添加する。1時間後、各サンプルのpHを連続撹拌しながら室温で測定し、pH測定値から[H+]濃度を計算する。結果を下表に示す。
本実施例は、栄養エマルジョンとしてのレディ・トゥ・ドリンク液体中のHMBの緩衝効果を説明する。市販されているエンシュア(登録商標)プラス(サンプル#1)(Abbott Laboratories,オハイオ州コロンバス)及びサンプル#2(エンシュア(登録商標)プラスを主成分とし、エマルジョン1kgあたり6.5gのHMBカルシウム及びエマルジョン1kgあたり2.38gのホスフェートを含有している液体栄養エマルジョン)の緩衝能を塩酸滴定及び水酸化ナトリウム滴定により比較する。結果を下表に示す。
以下の実施例は、本明細書中に記載されている製造方法に従って製造され得る本発明の長期貯蔵可能な栄養液の幾つかを例示する。これらの組成物には、プラスチック及び他の容器中に包装され、1〜25℃の範囲の貯蔵温度で処方/包装から2〜18ヶ月間物理的に安定のままである水性水中油型エマルジョン及び他の栄養液が含まれる。
実施例4〜7は、成分が下表にリストされている本発明の栄養エマルジョンを例示する。すべての成分の量は、別段の定めがない限り、製品の1000kgバッチあたりのkgとしてリストされている。

Claims (15)
- ペルオキシド処理した無菌パッケージ及び該パッケージ中に密閉した栄養液を含む包装されている組成物であって、該栄養液が、β−ヒドロキシ−β−メチルブチレート並びに脂肪、炭水化物及びタンパク質の少なくとも1つを含む組成物。
- ペルオキシド処理した無菌パッケージの大部分は重量基準でプラスチックである請求項1に記載の包装されている組成物。
- ペルオキシド処理した無菌パッケージの大部分は重量基準で金属である請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 栄養液は栄養液の重量基準で約0.2%〜約5.0%のβ−ヒドロキシ−β−メチルブチレートを含む請求項1に記載の包装されている組成物。
- 請求項1に記載の組成物であって、栄養液は脂肪、炭水化物、タンパク質及びβ−ヒドロキシ−β−メチルブチレートを含み、前記タンパク質は50〜100重量%の可溶性タンパク質を含み、及びホスホセリン含有タンパク質1kgあたり少なくとも約100mmolのホスホセリンを有するホスホセリン含有タンパク質を含む組成物。
- 可溶性タンパク質はカゼインナトリウム、ホエータンパク質濃縮物またはその組合せから選択される請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 栄養液は約2.3:1〜約12:1の可溶性カルシウム結合能/全可溶性カルシウムの重量比を有している請求項1に記載の組成物。
- ペルオキシド処理した無菌パッケージは少なくとも約13cm3のヘッドスペースを含む請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 脂肪、タンパク質、炭水化物及びβ−ヒドロキシ−β−メチルブチレートを一緒に合せて栄養液を形成し;
栄養液を滅菌し;
パッケージの内部をペルオキシド含有溶液で処理することによりパッケージを無菌的に滅菌し;
滅菌した栄養液を無菌的に滅菌したパッケージに充填すること
を含むペルオキシド処理した無菌パッケージ中のpH安定性栄養液の製造方法。 - ペルオキシド処理した無菌パッケージはガラス、プラスチック、金属、紙、厚紙及びその組合せからなる群から選択される材料を含む請求項9に記載の方法。
- ペルオキシド処理した無菌パッケージはリクローザブルである請求項9に記載の方法。
- タンパク質はカゼインナトリウム、ホエータンパク質濃縮物及びその組合せからなる群から選択される可溶性タンパク質を含む請求項9に記載の方法。
- 栄養組成物は約2.3:1〜約12:1の可溶性カルシウム結合能/全可溶性カルシウムの重量比を有している請求項9に記載の方法。
- 栄養液は約5:1〜約12:1の可溶性カルシウム結合能/全可溶性カルシウムの重量比を含む請求項9に記載の方法。
