Abstract
【解決手段】実施形態によれば、情報処理装置は、複数のポータブルデバイスのバッテリを充電可能な情報処理装置であって、複数のポート、電流検出手段、及び給電制御手段を具備する。複数のポートは、前記複数のポータブルデバイスが取り外し自在に装着される。電流検出手段は、前記複数のポータブルデバイスが前記複数のポートに装着されている場合、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流を検出する。給電制御手段は、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの内の、所定数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流が第1しきい値以上である場合、前記所定数のポータブルデバイス以外のポータブルデバイスに前記第1しきい値以上の電流が引き込まれないように制御する。

Description
本コンピュータ10は、図2に示されているように、CPU101、ノースブリッジ102、主メモリ103、サウスブリッジ104、グラフィクスコントローラ105、ビデオメモリ(VRAM)105A、サウンドコントローラ106、BIOS−ROM107、ハードディスクドライブ(HDD)109、ODD19、第1USBポート20、第2USBポート21、第1電流制限部26、第2電流制限部27、第1バススイッチ部28、第2バススイッチ部29、エンベデッドコントローラ/キーボードコントローラIC(EC/KBC)116、EEPROM117、キーボード(KB)13、電源スイッチ14、タッチパッド16、電源コントローラ(PSC)23、電源回路24、バッテリ25、ACアダプタ30等を備えている。
まず、EC116は、USBポート20,21のステータスを設定する(ブロックB101)。EC116は、例えば、ユーザーによる設定に応じて、USBポート20,21のステータスを設定する。次に、EC116は、電流制限部26,27にイネーブル信号を出力する(ブロックB102)。電流制限部26,27は、EC116によって出力されたイネーブル信号に応じて、USBポート20,21に電力を供給する。また、EC116は、設定されたステータスを示す信号であるステータスID[2:0]をバススイッチ部28,29に出力する(ブロックB103)。バススイッチ部28,29は、このステータスに応じて、USBバス信号をUSBポート20,21へスルーするためのパス、バススイッチ部28,29とUSBポート20,21との間を接続するパス等を切り替える(ブロックB104)。
それら他のバススイッチ部29,33,34は、第1バススイッチ部28によって出力された信号“L”を受け取ったことに応じて、急速充電(DCP 2Aモード)の禁止を設定する。
Claims (7)
- 複数のポータブルデバイスのバッテリを充電可能な情報処理装置であって、
前記複数のポータブルデバイスが取り外し自在に装着される複数のポートと、
前記複数のポータブルデバイスが前記複数のポートに装着されている場合、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流を検出する電流検出手段と、
前記複数のポータブルデバイスの内、所定数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流が第1しきい値以上である場合、前記所定数のポータブルデバイス以外のポータブルデバイスに前記第1しきい値以上の電流が引き込まれないように制御する給電制御手段とを具備する情報処理装置。 - 前記複数のポートの各々に対して、前記複数のポータブルデバイスによって引き込まれる電流の最大値が前記第1しきい値以上である第1ステータスと、前記電流の最大値が前記第1しきい値未満である第2ステータスのいずれか一方を設定するステータス設定手段をさらに具備し、
前記給電制御手段は、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの内の、前記所定数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流が前記第1しきい値以上である場合、前記所定数のポータブルデバイス以外のポータブルデバイスを前記第2ステータスに設定する請求項1記載の情報処理装置。 - 前記給電制御手段は、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの内の第1ポータブルデバイスに引き込まれる電流が第2しきい値より大きい場合、当該第1ポータブルデバイスに引き込まれる電流を遮断し、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの内の、前記所定数のポータブルデバイスに引き込まれる電流が前記第1しきい値以上であって前記第2しきい値以下である場合、前記所定数のポータブルデバイス以外のポータブルデバイスに前記第1しきい値以上の電流が引き込まれないように制御する請求項1記載の情報処理装置。
- 前記所定数は、前記情報処理装置が前記複数のポータブルデバイスに供給可能な電力に基づいて決定される請求項1記載の情報処理装置。
- 前記複数のポートは、ユニバーサル・シリアル・バス規格に対応したポートである請求項1記載の情報処理装置。
- 複数のポータブルデバイスのバッテリを充電可能な情報処理装置の動作を制御するための制御方法であって、前記情報処理装置は、前記複数のポータブルデバイスが取り外し自在に装着される複数のポートを備えており、
前記複数のポータブルデバイスが前記複数のポートに装着されている場合、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流を検出し、
前記複数のポータブルデバイスの内の、所定数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流が第1しきい値以上である場合、前記所定数のポータブルデバイス以外のポータブルデバイスに前記第1しきい値以上の電流が引き込まれないように制御する制御方法。 - 前記複数のポートの各々に対して、前記複数のポータブルデバイスによって引き込まれる電流の最大値が前記第1しきい値以上である第1ステータスと、前記電流の最大値が前記第1しきい値未満である第2ステータスのいずれか一方を設定し、
前記制御することは、前記複数のポータブルデバイスの内の、前記所定数のポータブルデバイスの各々に引き込まれる電流が前記第1しきい値以上である場合、前記所定数のポータブルデバイス以外のポータブルデバイスを前記第2ステータスに設定する請求項6記載の制御方法。
