Description
本願は、2008年11月3日に出願された、発明の名称を"Adjustable Rod For Spinal Correction"とする、米国仮特許出願第61/110,711号を基礎とする優先権を主張し、同出願を参照によってここで完全に引用する。
Claims (17)
- 人間の脊柱を修正し又は真っ直ぐにするための調整式ロッド組立体であって、この調整式ロッド組立体が、
患者の胸郭、骨盤、又は脊柱に取り付けられる少なくとも1つの骨結合要素と、
第1の細長い部材であって、骨結合要素の1つに結合されるように構成されてなる第1のロッド部分と、第1の延長部分と、を具備し、第1の延長部分はさらに、外面に複数のボア孔を具備している、上記第1の細長い部材と、
第2の細長い部材であって、骨結合要素の1つに結合されるように構成されてなる第2のロッド部分と、第1の延長部分に対して摺動式に可動である第2の延長部分と、を具備し、第2の延長部分はさらに、外面に複数のボア孔を具備している、上記第2の細長い部材と、
係止要素であって、ボア孔及び貫通孔のそれぞれの少なくとも1つに挿入可能に構成されたピンを具備し、それにより、第1及び第2の細長い部材を一緒に結合し、調整式ロッド組立体の長さを固定する、上記係止要素と、を有し、
上記骨結合要素は、第1のロッド部分及び第2のロッド部分のうち少なくとも1つを中心として回転式に調整可能であり、上記第1の細長い部材は、少なくとも部分的に直線状であるか、又は少なくとも部分的に前彎状に屈曲していることを特徴とする調整式ロッド組立体。 - 上記第1及び第2の細長い部材は、屈曲していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第1の延長部分及び第2の延長部分は、それぞれ屈曲しており、それぞれ同一の曲率半径を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第1及び第2の延長部分の曲率半径は、約200mmから約520mmの間であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記少なくとも1つの骨結合要素は、ラミナーフックであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記少なくとも1つの骨結合要素は、クランプ組立体を具備していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記クランプ組立体は、肋骨フックと、肋骨篭に取り付けられる肋骨フックキャップとを具備していることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第1のロッド部分は、実質的に円筒形の形状である少なくとも一部分を有し、上記少なくとも1つの骨結合要素は、実質的に円筒形の形状であるロッド部分を受け入れる開口部を有し、第1のロッド部分に対して骨結合要素の角度の調整を許容することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記調整式ロッド組立体がさらに、サイズ及び形状の異なる複数の第1の細長い部材と、サイズ及び形状の異なる複数の第2の細長い部材とを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記調整式ロッド組立体がさらに、複数の骨結合要素を備え、患者の肋骨に取り付けるための少なくとも1つのクランプ組立体と、患者の脊柱に取り付けるための少なくとも1つのフックと、患者の骨盤に取り付けるための少なくとも1つのフックとを具備していることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記調整式ロッド組立体がさらに、少なくとも1本の横断バーを備えていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第2の延長部分は、スリーブとして形成され、通路を有し、第1の延長部分の少なくとも一部分を受け入れることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第1の延長部分は屈曲しており、第1のロッド部分は真っ直ぐであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 人間の脊柱を修正し又は真っ直ぐにするための調整式ロッド組立体を移植する方法であって、この方法が、
患者の第1の位置へ、第1の開口部を通して、第1の骨結合要素を挿入する段階と、
第1の骨結合要素を、第1の位置にて、骨に結合する段階と、
患者の第2の位置へ、第2の開口部を通して、第2の骨結合要素を挿入する段階と、
第2の骨結合要素を、第2の位置にて、骨に結合する段階と、
第1の開口部に通して第1の細長い部材を挿入する段階と、
第1の細長い部材を、第1の骨結合要素に結合する段階と、
第2の開口部に通して第2の細長い部材を挿入する段階と、
第2の細長い部材を、第2の骨結合要素に結合する段階と、
細長い部材を一緒に結合する段階と、を有することを特徴とする方法。 - さらに、第3の位置に第3の開口部を形成する段階と、第3の切開を通してカプラを挿入して細長い部材と一緒に結合する段階と、を有することを特徴とする請求項14に記載の方法。
- 上記第1の細長い部材が第1のロッド部分を有し、さらに、第1のロッド部分に第1の骨結合要素を結合する段階と、第1のロッド部分に対して第1の骨結合要素の角度を調整する段階と、を有することを特徴とする請求項14に記載の方法。
- さらに、第1のロッド部分に対して第1の骨結合要素の角度向きを固定する段階を有することを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。
