Description
本願は、2008年11月3日に出願された、発明の名称を"Adjustable Rod For Spinal Correction"とする、米国仮特許出願第61/110,711号を基礎とする優先権を主張し、同出願を参照によってここで完全に引用する。
Claims (14)
- 人間の脊柱を修正し又は真っ直ぐにするための調整式ロッド組立体であって、この調整式ロッド組立体が、
患者の胸郭、骨盤、又は脊柱に取り付けられるように構成された少なくとも1つの骨結合要素と、
第1の長手方向軸線に沿って細長く形成されている第1の細長い部材であって、前記第1の細長い部材は、骨結合要素の1つに結合されるように構成されてなる第1のロッド部分を備え、第1の細長い部材は、屈曲され且つ曲率半径を形成する第1の延長部分をさらに具備し、第1の延長部分はさらに、第1の細長い部材の外面に複数のボア孔を具備している、上記第1の細長い部材と、
第2の長手方向軸線に沿って細長く形成されている第2の細長い部材であって、前記第2の細長い部材は、骨結合要素の1つに結合されるように構成されてなる第2のロッド部分と、第1の延長部分に対して摺動式に可動である第2の延長部分と、を具備し、第2の延長部分は屈曲され且つ第1の延長部分の曲率半径と同一である曲率半径を形成し、第2の延長部分はさらに第2の細長い部材の外面に複数の貫通孔を具備し、第1の細長い部材及び第2の細長い部材は第1のロッド部分から第2のロッド部分まで延びる長さを定め、この長さは調整可能である、上記第2の細長い部材と、
係止要素であって、複数のボア孔及び複数の貫通孔のそれぞれの少なくとも1つに挿入されるように構成されたピンを具備し、それにより、第1及び第2の細長い部材を一緒に結合し、上記長さを固定する、上記係止要素と、を有し、
上記骨結合要素は、1)前記骨結合要素が、前記第1のロッド部分に関して、前記第1の長手方向軸線を中心に回転的に調整可能であり、且つ前記第1の長手方向軸線に沿って直線的に調整可能であるような前記第1のロッド部分と、2)前記骨結合要素が、前記第2のロッド部分に関して、前記第2の長手方向軸線を中心に回転的に調整可能であり、且つ前記第2の長手方向軸線に沿って直線的に調整可能であるような前記第2のロッド部分と、のうち少なくとも1つに回転式に結合されるように形成されることを特徴とする調整式ロッド組立体。 - 上記少なくとも1つの骨結合要素は、ラミナーフックであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記少なくとも1つの骨結合要素は、クランプ組立体を具備し、前記クランプ組立体は、肋骨フックを有し、肋骨篭に取り付けられるように構成された肋骨フックキャップとを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第1のロッド部分は、実質的に円筒形の形状である少なくとも一部分を有し、上記少なくとも1つの骨結合要素は、実質的に円筒形の形状であるロッド部分を受け入れる開口部を有し、第1のロッド部分に対して骨結合要素の角度の調整を許容することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記調整式ロッド組立体は、さらに、サイズ及び形状の異なる複数の第1の細長い部材と、サイズ及び形状の異なる複数の第2の細長い部材とを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記調整式ロッド組立体は、さらに、複数の骨結合要素を備え、患者の肋骨に取り付けるように構成された少なくとも1つのクランプ組立体と、患者の脊柱に取り付けるように構成された少なくとも1つのフックと、患者の骨盤に取り付けるように構成された少なくとも1つのフックとを具備していることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記調整式ロッド組立体は、さらに、少なくとも1本の横断バーを備えていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第2の延長部分は、第1の延長部分の少なくとも一部分を受け入れるように構成された通路を有するスリーブとして形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第1のロッド部分は真っ直ぐであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記第1の延長部材は、雄型拡張部分を含み、且つ上記第2の延長部材は、雄型拡張部分を摺動可能に受け入れるように構成されている通路を有する雌型拡張部分を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記雄型拡張部分は、T字形バーの形状を有し、上記雄型拡張部分の通路は、C字形の形状であり、T字形バーの形状に形成された上記雄型拡張部分を摺動可能に受け入れて第1の細長い部材及び第2の細長い部材の長さを調整するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記少なくとも1つの骨結合要素は、S字形フックコネクタを備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
- 上記調整式ロッド組立体は、さらに、第1のロッド部分を受け入れるように構成されている開口部を有する横断バーであって、この横断バーが第1のロッド部分に関して横断バーを固定するように第1のロッド部分に嵌着されることができる、上記横断バーと、
前記横断バーに取付けられ、且つ前記横断バーを中心として回転的に調整可能な追加の骨結合要素とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。 - 上記調整式ロッド組立体は、さらに、第2のロッド部分を受け入れるように構成されている開口部を有する横断バーであって、この横断バーが第2のロッド部分に関して横断バーを固定するように第2のロッド部分に嵌着されることができる、上記横断バーと、
前記横断バーに取付けられ、且つ前記横断バーを中心として回転的に調整可能な追加の骨結合要素とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の調整式ロッド組立体。
