Abstract
【解決手段】チタン酸アルミニウムセラミック製ウォールフロー型フィルタのための施栓混合物であって、アルミナ源、シリカ源、およびチタニア源を含有するチタン酸アルミニウム前駆体反応性バッチ組成物、焼結助剤、有機結合剤、および液体ビヒクルを有してなる施栓混合物から形成された端部栓により構成されたセラミック製ウォールフロー型フィルタを1350℃から1500℃の範囲にある最高焼成温度で、より好ましくは1375℃から1425℃の範囲にある最高焼成温度で施栓材料を焼成することにより、ハニカム構造体の選択的に施栓されたチャンネル内に焼成栓を形成する。

Description
Claims (5)
- 多孔質セラミック壁により境界が形成された複数のチャンネルを備えたセラミック製ハニカム構造体を有する多孔質セラミック製ウォールフロー型フィルタを製造する方法であって、
平行な壁により境界が形成された複数のチャンネルを有する第1のハニカム構造体を提供する工程であって、該ハニカム構造体が、第1のチタン酸アルミニウムバッチ組成物から形成され、1350℃から1500℃の範囲にあるピーク焼成温度で焼成される工程;
前記焼成されたハニカム構造体の前記第1のチタン酸アルミニウムバッチ組成物とは異なるチタン酸アルミニウムバッチ組成物、焼結助剤、有機結合剤、および液体ビヒクルを有してなる施栓混合物で少なくとも1つの所定のチャンネルを選択的に施栓して、選択的に施栓されたハニカム構造体を形成する工程;および
前記施栓混合物を焼成し、前記少なくとも1つの選択的に施栓されたチャンネル内に焼成栓を形成するのに効果的な条件下で、前記選択的に施栓されたハニカム構造体を焼成する工程であって、前記施栓混合物を焼成するのに効果的な条件が、前記ピーク焼成温度より少なくとも約50℃低い工程;
を有してなる方法。 - 前記焼成されたハニカム構造体が、チタン酸アルミニウムセラミックハニカム構造体であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記施栓混合物を焼成するのに効果的な条件が、該施栓混合物をチタン酸アルミニウムセラミック組成物に転化するのに効果的であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記施栓混合物を焼成するのに効果的な条件が、1350℃から1500℃の範囲にある最大焼成温度で前記選択的に施栓されたハニカム構造体を焼成する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記施栓混合物を焼成するのに効果的な条件が、1375℃から1425℃の範囲にある最大焼成温度で前記選択的に施栓されたハニカム構造体を焼成する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
