Abstract
【解決手段】板状の固体電解質体と、固体電解質体の一方の表裏面に形成され、当該固体電解質体と共に被測定ガス中の特定ガスの濃度を検知する検知部を構成する一対の検知電極と、を有するガスセンサ素子と、発熱体を有するヒータと、を積層させた板状の積層体を、素子挿通部材を介してハウジングに組み込んだガスセンサであって、積層体の積層方向の両側端部には、アルミナを主成分とする絶縁基体が設けられ、当該絶縁基体の積層方向の両側端面のうち、少なくとも素子挿通部材と対向する部位には、アルミナよりも高靭性な第1材料を主成分とする塗布層が形成され、積層体の積層方向と平行な面には、前記塗布層が形成されていない。

Description
さらには、「アルミナよりも高靭性な第1材料」とは、第1材料がJIS R 1607(1990年)により規定されたアルミナの靭性よりも高い靭性を有するものであればよく、例えば、ジルコニア、窒化珪素、炭化珪素等が挙げられる。
また、本実施形態では、強化保護層121や第2絶縁基体23がアルミナからなっていたが、これに限らず、アルミナを主成分とすればよく、その他、ジルコニアやムライトが含有されていても良い。
また、空燃比センサ以外のガスセンサ、例えば、HCセンサ、COセンサ、NOxセンサに使用する積層型ガスセンサ素子に対しても、上記と同様にして適用することができる。
Claims (5)
- 板状の固体電解質体と、
前記固体電解質体の一方の表裏面に形成され、当該固体電解質体と共に被測定ガス中の特定ガスの濃度を検知する検知部を構成する一対の検知電極と、
を有するガスセンサ素子と、
発熱体を有するヒータと、
を積層させた板状の積層体を、素子挿通部材を介してハウジングに組み込んだガスセンサであって、
前記積層体の積層方向の両側端部には、アルミナを主成分とする絶縁基体が設けられ、当該絶縁基体の積層方向の両側端面のうち、少なくとも前記素子挿通部材と対向する部位には、アルミナよりも高靭性な第1材料を主成分とする塗布層が形成され、
前記積層体の積層方向に平行な表面には、前記塗布層が形成されていない
ことを特徴とするガスセンサ。 - 請求項1記載のガスセンサであって、
前記塗布層の厚さが10μm以上50μm以下であることを特徴とするガスセンサ。 - 請求項1または請求項2記載のガスセンサであって、
前記塗布層は、前記絶縁基体よりも熱伝導率が低い材料からなることを特徴とするガスセンサ。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項に記載のガスセンサであって、
前記塗布層は、前記絶縁基体との熱膨張率差が0.7×10−6以下となる材料からなることを特徴とするガスセンサ。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一項に記載のガスセンサであって、
前記塗布層は、ジルコニアを主成分とすることを特徴とするガスセンサ。
