Abstract

- ハイパーリンクによってリンクされた注釈データ受信システムであって、
複数のマスクデータパケット及び複数のオブジェクトデータパケットとともに符号化された放送信号を受信する受信機において、
各前記マスクデータパケットは、ビデオプログラムの特定のビデオフレームに対応し、前記特定のビデオフレーム内のビデオオブジェクトと関連付けられたグラフィックデータを含み、
前記マスクデータパケットは、前記複数のオブジェクトデータパケットの一つに含まれたオブジェクトマッピングテーブルへの識別子を含み、
前記オブジェクトマッピングテーブルは、ビデオフレーム内の複数のビデオオブジェクトの各々に関連付けられたエントリを含み、
オブジェクトマッピングテーブル内の各エントリは、前記複数のオブジェクトデータパケットの一つ又は複数内に含まれた情報データ構造を参照し、
前記情報データ構造は、対応するビデオオブジェクトに関する情報を含む、前記受信機と、
前記放送信号から前記マスクデータパケット及び前記オブジェクトデータパケットを抽出するビデオ復号器と、

複数のビデオフレームを含むビデオプログラムを提供するビデオソースと、
前記ビデオソースと通信するビデオ符号器であって、前記ビデオ符号器は複数のマスクデータパケット及び複数のオブジェクトデータパケットを符号化し放送信号を生成し、
各前記マスクデータパケットは、ビデオプログラムの特定のビデオフレームに対応し、前記特定のビデオフレーム内のビデオオブジェクトと関連付けられたグラフィックデータを含み、
前記マスクデータパケットは、前記複数のオブジェクトデータパケットの一つに含まれたオブジェクトマッピングテーブルへの識別子を含み、
前記オブジェクトマッピングテーブルは、ビデオフレーム内の複数のビデオオブジェクトの各々に関連付けられたエントリを含み、
オブジェクトマッピングテーブル内の各エントリは、前記複数のオブジェクトデータパケットの一つ又は複数内に含まれた情報データ構造を参照し、
前記情報データ構造は、対応するビデオオブジェクトに関する情報を含む、前記ビデオ符号器と、
前記放送信号から前記マスクデータパケット及び前記オブジェクトデータパケットを抽出するビデオ復号器と、
前記放送信号を受信機へ伝送する手段とを備え、
前記受信機は、
前記複数のビデオオブジェクトの各々が前記特定のビデオフレーム内で見えるのかを判断し、
前記特定のビデオフレーム内で見えると判断された各ビデオオブジェクトに、対応するグラフィックイメージを重ね、
重ねられたグラフィックイメージの一つと関連付けられたユーザの選択を受信し、
前記ユーザの選択へ応答し、前記特定のビデオフレームに対応する前記マスクデータパケットから前記オブジェクトマッピングテーブルの識別子を読み出し、
前記読み出された識別子に基づいて、オブジェクトマッピングテーブルを読み出し、
前記ユーザの選択に関連付けられたビデオオブジェクトに関するエントリを前記オブジェクトマッピングテーブル内で検索し、
前記検索されたエントリ内で参照された情報データ構造を識別し、
前記情報データ構造内の情報を読み出し、
前記表示装置内に前記読み出された情報を表示するように構成される、放送システム。
