Description
Claims (30)
- 画素内照明を用いて高解像度のディスプレイ表示をおこなう方法であって、
第1の時点において、液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)変調パネル上の複数の第1の副画素領域を照明して第1の画像フレームを表示する段階と、
第2の時点において、前記液晶ディスプレイ上の複数の第2の副画素領域を照明して第2の画像フレームを表示する段階と
を備え、
前記第1および第2の副画素領域は、実質的に液晶ディスプレイ画素の非重複領域を含む方法。 - 一つの副画素の大きさが、液晶ディスプレイパネルの個々の変調画素のいずれか一つよりも小さい請求項1に記載の方法。
- 一つの副画素が、実質的に、液晶ディスプレイパネルの個々の変調画素のいずれか一つの半分の大きさである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の副画素領域は、垂直方向に前記液晶ディスプレイの画素列に配列されて、前記画素列の左半分を実質的に占める複数の副画素を含み、
前記第2の副画素領域は、垂直方向に前記液晶ディスプレイの前記画素列に配列されて、前記画素列の右半分を実質的に占める複数の副画素を含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 第3の時点に、前記液晶ディスプレイ変調パネル上の複数の第3の副画素領域を照明する段階をさらに備え、
前記第1、第2および第3の副画素領域は、実質的に液晶ディスプレイ画素の非重複領域を含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第1の時点に、第1の組の光源を起動する段階と、
前記第1の組の光源からの光を光学的に複製する段階と、
前記光学的に複製した光を、前記複数の第1の副画素領域に向けて投影する段階とをさらに備える請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第2の時点に、第2の組の光源を起動する段階と、
前記第2の組の光源からの光を光学的に複製する段階と、
前記光学的に複製した光を、前記複数の第2の副画素領域に向けて投影する段階とをさらに備える請求項6に記載の方法。 - 前記第1の組の光源および前記第2の組の光源は、赤、緑および青の発光ダイオード(LED)を含む請求項6に記載の方法。
- 各副画素領域は、赤色、青色または緑色の光のいずれかによって照らされ、各副画素領域において前記赤色の光、前記青色の光および前記緑色の光が時間的に循環して前記副画素の照明がおこなわれ、均一で空間的に平均化された白色光の照明を前記液晶ディスプレイに提供する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 複数のスクロール帯状領域を通じてスクロールすることにより表示遷移期間を隠すスクロール段階をさらに備える請求項1に記載の方法。
- 選択的に前記複数のスクロール帯状領域を照明して、前記液晶ディスプレイパネル変調のアドレッシングに同期した前記液晶ディスプレイパネルのスクロール照明をおこなう照明段階をさらに備える請求項10に記載の方法。
- 角度的に分離され色のついたビーム状の赤、緑および青の光を、円筒状のレンズアレイに供給して、前記第1の副画素領域および前記第2の副画素領域のいずれか一つに前記光を向ける段階をさらに備える請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の副画素領域の照明は、左目に入射する第1の画像を照明し、前記第2の副画素領域の照明は、右目に入射する第2の画像を照明する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記光路において前記液晶ディスプレイ変調パネルの後に配置されるレンチキュラーアレイによって、前記第1の副画素領域からの光を前記左目に向け、前記第2の副画素領域からの光を前記右目に向ける段階をさらに備える請求項13に記載の方法。
- 液晶ディスプレイパネルを照明する方法であって、
前記液晶ディスプレイパネルの画素は、左副画素および右副画素を含み、第1の組の副画素は実質的に複数の左副画素からなり、第2の組の副画素は実質的に複数の右副画素からなる前記液晶ディスプレイパネルを設ける段階と、
第1のスクロール帯状領域における前記複数の左副画素を照明する段階と、
第2のスクロール帯状領域における前記複数の左副画素を照明する段階と、
第1のスクロール帯状領域の前記複数の右副画素を照明する段階と、
第2のスクロール帯状領域の前記複数の右副画素を照明する段階と
を備える方法。 - 前記第1の組の副画素を照明する前記光は、第1の組の発光ダイオードから生じる光を含み、前記第2の組の副画素を照明する前記光は、第2の組の発光ダイオードから生じる光を含む請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のスクロール帯状領域における前記第1の組の副画素は、第1の時間位相に照明され、前記第2のスクロール帯状領域における前記第1の組の副画素は、第2の時間位相に照明される請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の時間位相は、時間的に前記第1の時間位相の後に続いている請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の時間位相は、前記第1の時間位相と少なくとも一部重複する請求項16に記載の方法。
- 第3のスクロール帯状領域における前記複数の左副画素を照明する段階と、
前記第3のスクロール帯状領域における前記複数の右副画素を照明する段階とをさらに備える請求項15に記載の方法。 - 前記第1のスクロール帯状領域と前記第2のスクロール帯状領域とが、前記液晶ディスプレイパネルのアドレス周期の異なる期間に照明される請求項15に記載の方法。
- 第1の組の発光ダイオードから第1の光を発生させて、前記第1の光を、前記液晶ディスプレイパネルの前記複数の左副画素に向ける段階と、
第2の組の発光ダイオードから第2の光を発生させて、前記第2の光を、前記液晶ディスプレイパネルの前記複数の右副画素に向ける段階と
をさらに備え、
各副画素に入射する光は、赤色、緑色および青色の光のいずれかである請求項15に記載の方法。 - 前記第1の光を前記液晶ディスプレイパネルの前記複数の左副画素に向け、前記第2の光を前記液晶ディスプレイパネルの前記複数の右副画素に向ける円筒状のレンズアレイに、角度的に分離され色のついたビーム状の赤色、緑色および青色の光を供給する段階をさらに備える請求項22に記載の方法。
- 選択的に前記複数のスクロール帯状領域を照明することは、前記液晶ディスプレイパネル変調のアドレッシングに同期した前記液晶ディスプレイパネルのスクロール照明を提供する請求項15に記載の方法。
- 第1の組の発光ダイオードおよび第2の組の発光ダイオードのいずれかより発生する光線でレンチキュラーシートを一時的に照明することにより、前記複数のスクロール帯状領域が形成され、前記色のついた光線は、それぞれ異なる入射角を有する請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の組の副画素の照明は、左目に入射する第1の画像を照明し、前記第2の組の副画素の照明は、右目に入射する第2の画像を照明する請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記液晶ディスプレイパネルより前に位置する拡散板において、光が結像する請求項15に記載の方法。
- 液晶変調パネルと、
第1の光および第2の光を生成し時間的に変調される照明源エンジンと、
前記液晶変調パネルに隣接して設けられ、前記照明源エンジンからの前記第1の光を前記液晶変調パネルの複数の第1の副画素領域に向け、前記照明源エンジンからの前記第2の光を前記液晶変調パネルの複数の第2の副画素領域に向ける微小光学アレイサブシステムと
を備え、
前記複数の第1の副画素領域および前記複数の第2の副画素領域は、実質的に液晶ディスプレイ画素の非重複領域を含む直視型視覚表示装置。 - 前記第1の光を前記液晶変調パネルの前記複数の第1の副画素領域に向け、前記第2の光を前記液晶変調パネルの前記複数の第2の副画素領域に向ける円筒状のレンズアレイをさらに備える請求項28に記載の直視型視覚表示装置。
- 前記第1の光および前記第2の光を供給する前記照明源エンジンを駆動する制御装置をさらに備える請求項28に記載の直視型視覚表示装置。
