Claims (10)
- セラミックス材料、分散媒、成形助剤、及び添加剤を含有する原料組成物からなり、隔壁によって区画された流体の流路となる複数のセルを有する未焼成のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法であって、
乾燥空間内において、前記ハニカム成形体の開口上端面の上方及び開口下端面の下方に設けた、相対する電極板の間に電流を流し、前記ハニカム成形体に対するパワー密度を5〜20[kW/kg(水)]の範囲に維持して誘電乾燥を行う誘電乾燥工程を有するハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。 - 前記ハニカム成形体の前記乾燥空間内充填率を制御することによって、前記乾燥空間内のパワー密度を5〜20[kW/kg(水)]の範囲に維持する請求項1に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 相対する前記電極板の面積を乾燥に有効な最小の広さに抑えることによって、前記乾燥空間内のパワー密度を5〜20[kW/kg(水)]の範囲に維持する請求項1又は2に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 前記ハニカム成形体の誘電乾燥前の含水率は、20〜25質量%である請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 前記ハニカム成形体の誘電乾燥後の含水率が、誘電乾燥前の含水率に対して10〜40%となるまで前記誘電乾燥を行う請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 前記誘電乾燥を行った後に、更にマイクロ波乾燥及び/又は熱風乾燥を行う工程を有する請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 前記原料組成物に、前記成形助剤として、熱ゲル化特性及び/又は熱硬化特性を有するバインダーを含む請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 前記原料組成物における前記バインダーの含有量は、1〜10質量%である請求項7に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 前記乾燥空間内の湿球温度を60℃以上100℃未満に維持して前記誘電乾燥を行う請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
- 前記ハニカム成形体の、前記複数のセルの開口率が70〜90%であり、且つ前記隔壁の厚さが0.05〜0.2mmである請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム成形体の乾燥方法。
