Abstract
【解決手段】表示パネルと、前記表示パネルに駆動電圧を供給し、前記駆動電圧を変化させる可変回路を内蔵した電源供給部と、前記電源供給部から前記表示パネルに前記駆動電圧が供給される期間に前記表示パネルに流入するパネル電流を検出する電流検出部とを備え、前記駆動電圧を変化させながら前記パネル電流の変化率を算出して最適な駆動電圧を設定する。

Claims (18)
- 表示パネルと、
前記表示パネルに駆動電圧を供給し、前記駆動電圧を変化させる可変回路を内蔵した電源供給部と、
前記電源供給部から前記表示パネルに前記駆動電圧が供給される期間に前記表示パネルに流入するパネル電流を検出する電流検出部とを備え、
前記駆動電圧を変化させながら前記パネル電流の変化率を算出して最適な駆動電圧を設定することを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記最適な駆動電圧は、前記駆動電圧に応じた前記パネル電流の微分値が変化する変曲点における駆動電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記最適な駆動電圧は、前記駆動電圧の増加に伴う前記パネル電流の微分値が減少する時点における駆動電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記電源供給部は、正側出力端子に第1電源電圧を出力し、負側出力端子に第2電源電圧を出力し、前記駆動電圧は、前記第1電源電圧と前記第2電源電圧との電圧差に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第1電源電圧は、高電位の電源電圧であり、前記第2電源電圧は、低電位の電源電圧であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記電源供給部は、前記第1電源電圧を変化させて前記駆動電圧を変化させることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記電流検出部は、前記電源供給部からの前記第1電源電圧を前記表示パネルに伝達する第1電源供給ライン上に位置し、前記第1電源供給ラインに流れる前記パネル電流を検出することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記電流検出部は、
前記パネル電流を検出する電流センサと、
前記パネル電流の変化率を算出する変化率算出部とを備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記変化率算出部は、前記駆動電圧に応じた前記パネル電流の微分値を演算して出力する演算器で実現されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記変化率算出部は、前記駆動電圧に応じた前記パネル電流の微分値を出力するアナログ微分器で実現されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記電流検出部は、前記パネル電流の変化率に応じて前記電源供給部を制御する制御信号を生成する制御信号生成部をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記最適な駆動電圧を設定する間、前記表示パネルは、静止画像を表示することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記最適な駆動電圧を設定する間、前記表示パネルには、最高階調に相当するデータが供給されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 駆動電圧を変化させながら表示パネルに供給するステップと、
前記駆動電圧が供給される期間に前記表示パネルに流入するパネル電流を検出するステップと、
前記駆動電圧に応じた前記パネル電流の変化率を算出して最適な駆動電圧を設定するステップとを含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置の駆動電圧設定方法。 - 前記最適な駆動電圧は、前記駆動電圧に応じた前記パネル電流の微分値が変化する変曲点における駆動電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動電圧設定方法。
- 前記最適な駆動電圧は、前記駆動電圧の増加に伴う前記パネル電流の微分値が減少する時点における駆動電圧に設定されることを特徴とする請求項15に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動電圧設定方法。
- 前記最適な駆動電圧を設定する間、前記表示パネルに静止画像のデータを供給することを特徴とする請求項14に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動電圧設定方法。
- 前記最適な駆動電圧を設定する間、前記表示パネルに最高階調に相当するデータを供給することを特徴とする請求項14に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動電圧設定方法。
