攪拌機、還流冷却器、内部温度計及び窒素導入部を備えたフラスコ内で、モノマーA、モノマーC、及び場合により分子量調節剤、及びレドックス開始剤系の成分1(アスコルビン酸)を、溶剤中に窒素導入下に仕込んだ。次いで、温度を攪拌下に80℃にし、そして3時間内にレドックス開始剤系の成分2(t−BuOOH)の溶液を計量添加した。これと同時に、モノマーBの計量添加を開始し、これを3時間後に完了した。これに次いで、この温度で2時間更に攪拌し、次いで溶剤を真空下に除去した。
