Claims (18)
- 約50nm〜約3000nmの範囲の平均直径を有する湿潤性のポリマー繊維の多孔質細繊維層を含むセパレータを有するアルカリ電池であって、前記多孔質細繊維層が強アルカリ性電解質によって恒久的に湿潤しているアルカリ電池。
- 前記繊維ポリマーが、内部に組み入れられた有効量の界面活性剤を含む請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記繊維が、電界紡糸または電気ブロー加工によってポリマーの紡糸溶液から製造され、界面活性剤が前記紡糸溶液に加えられる請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記界面活性剤が、前記ポリマーの約0.4重量%〜約20重量%のレベルで存在する請求項2に記載の電池。
- 前記界面活性剤が、前記ポリマーの約1重量%〜約5重量%のレベルで存在する請求項2に記載の電池。
- 前記界面活性剤が非イオン性界面活性剤である請求項2に記載の電池。
- 前記非イオン性界面活性剤が、アルキル化ポリエーテル界面活性剤およびシロキシルポリエーテル界面活性剤からなる群から選択される請求項6に記載の電池。
- 前記繊維が、脂肪族ポリアミド、半芳香族ポリアミド、ポリビニルアルコール、セルロース、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリプロピレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレート、ポリスルホン、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、ポリフッ化ビニリデン−ヘキサフルオロプロペン、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリメチルペンタン、ポリフェニレンスルフィド、ポリアセチル、ポリウレタン、芳香族ポリアミドおよびそれらのブレンド、混合物およびコポリマーからなる群から選択されるポリマーを含む請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記多孔質細繊維層が、約0.01μm〜約15μmの平均流孔径を有する請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記多孔質細繊維層が、約0.1ミル(0.0025mm)〜約12ミル(0.3mm)の厚さを有する請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記多孔質細繊維層が、約1g/m2〜約90g/m2の坪量を有する請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記繊維が、約50nm〜約1000nmの平均直径を有する請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記ポリマーが架橋される請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記セパレータが複数の多孔質細繊維層を含む請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記セパレータが、異なるポリマーを含む複数の多孔質細繊維層を含む請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記セパレータが、厚さ、坪量、孔径、繊維サイズ、多孔率、透気率、イオン抵抗性および引張り強さからなる群から選択される、異なる特性を有する複数の多孔質細繊維層を含む請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記アルカリ電池が、Zn−MnO2一次電池、Zn−MnO2二次電池、Zn−空気電池、Zn−AgO電池、Ni−Zn電池、Cd−AgO電池、Zn−HgO電池、Cd−HgO電池、Ni−Cd電池、Ni−金属水素化物電池、またはNi−H2電池である請求項1に記載のアルカリ電池。
- 前記ポリマー繊維が、界面活性剤をさらに塗布される請求項2に記載のアルカリ電池。
