Abstract
Description
本発明は、概して、試作品、工具、および量産部品等の3次元(3D)物体の高速製造に関する。特に、本発明は、高速製造された3D物体を表面処理する方法に関する。
[概要]
本発明は、表面処理された3D物体を形成するための方法に関する。本方法は、溶剤を用いた平滑化工程によって、高速製造された3D物体の外表面を平滑化するステップと、溶剤によって平滑化された外表面の少なくとも一部をメディア(媒体)を用いてブラスティング(ブラスト加工)するステップと、を含む。
[実施例]
本発明は、以下の実施例において、より具体的に説明される。以下の実施例は、例証のみを意図しており、本発明の範囲内における多数の修正および変形例は、当業者には明白であるだろう。平滑かつ艶のある外表面を呈する表面処理された3D物体を、以下の手順に従って、調製した。最初に、ミネソタ州Eden PrairieのStatasys, Inc.から「FDM TITAN」という商品名で市販される溶解蒸着成型システムにおいて、白色アクリロニトリル・ブタジエン・スチレン(ABS)ポリマーによって、3D物体を積層方式で構築した(方法10のステップ12に従った)。次いで、3D物体を溶解蒸着成型システムから除去し、常温に冷却した。本実施例では、方法10のステップ14に基づく事前平滑化プロセスは、実施しなかった(例えば、支持材料の除去を必要としなかった)。
Claims (20)
- 表面処理された3次元物体を形成するための方法であって、
高速製造された3次元物体の外表面を、溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスによって平滑化するステップと、
前記溶剤によって平滑化された外表面の少なくとも一部を媒体を用いてブラスト加工するステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスは、蒸気による平滑化プロセスを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスにて、塩化メチレン、臭化n−プロピル、ペルクロロエチレン、トリクロロエチレン、アセトン、メチルエチルケトン、ジメチルアセトアミド、キシレン、トルエン、水、アルコール、およびそれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択される溶剤が使用される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記外表面を平滑化するステップに先立って、前記高速製造された3次元物体を、常温を下回る温度に冷却するステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記高速製造された3次元物体を、フック状部材から懸架するステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶剤によって平滑化された外表面から、少なくとも1つの表面欠陥を研磨除去するステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記媒体を用いたブラスト加工は、重炭酸ナトリウムを用いたブラスト加工を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記3次元物体の外表面の鏡面反射率を監視するステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記鏡面反射率が所定のレベルに到達すると、前記溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスを中断する動作と、前記媒体を用いたブラスト加工を中断する動作と、から成る群から選択される動作を実施するステップをさらに含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 表面処理された3次元物体を形成するための方法であって、
3次元物体の少なくとも一部を高速製造技術によって構築するステップであって、前記3次元物体が外表面を有する、ステップと、
溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスによって前記外表面を平滑化するステップと、
溶剤によって平滑化された外表面の少なくとも一部を媒体を用いてブラスト加工するステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスは、蒸気による平滑化プロセスを含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 外表面を平滑化するステップに先立って、高速製造された3次元物体を、常温を下回る温度に冷却するステップをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記3次元物体の外表面の鏡面反射率を監視するステップをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記媒体を用いたブラスト加工は、重炭酸ナトリウムを用いたブラスト加工を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 表面処理された3次元物体を形成するための方法であって、
3次元物体の少なくとも一部を高速製造技術によって構築するステップであって、前記3次元物体が外表面を有する、ステップと、
前記外表面の鏡面反射率を平滑化プロセスによって増加させるステップと、
前記外表面の前記鏡面反射率を媒体を用いたブラスト加工によって減少させるステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記平滑化プロセスは、溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記溶剤を用いた平滑化プロセスは、蒸気による平滑化プロセスを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記平滑化プロセスは、前記外表面における前記3次元物体の気孔率を減少させる、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記外表面の鏡面反射率を監視するステップをさらに含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記媒体を用いたブラスト加工のプロセスは、重炭酸ナトリウムによるブラスト加工を含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
