Claims (21)

  1. 多価不飽和脂肪酸（PUFA）を産生するためのポリケチドシンターゼ（PKS）様系由来のPKS-様遺伝子活性を有するタンパク質またはその断片をコードする単離された核酸分子であって、配列番号６９、配列番号７１または配列番号７６の相補鎖に対して高ストリンジェンシー条件下でハイブリダイズする核酸配列を含む、単離された核酸分子。
  2. 配列番号７０と少なくとも９０％の配列同一性を有し、かつPKS-様遺伝子活性を有するアミノ酸配列をコードする核酸配列を含む、請求項１記載の単離された核酸分子。
  3. 配列番号７０のアミノ酸配列をコードする核酸配列を含む、請求項１または２記載の単離された核酸分子。
  4. 配列番号７２と少なくとも９０％の配列同一性を有し、かつPKS-様遺伝子活性を有するアミノ酸配列をコードする核酸配列を含む、請求項１記載の単離された核酸分子。
  5. 配列番号７２のアミノ酸配列をコードする核酸配列を含む、請求項１または４記載の単離された核酸分子。
  6. 配列番号７３と少なくとも９０％の配列同一性を有し、かつPKS-様遺伝子活性を有するアミノ酸配列をコードする核酸配列を含む、請求項１記載の単離された核酸分子。
  7. 配列番号７３のアミノ酸配列をコードする核酸配列を含む、請求項１または６記載の単離された核酸分子。
  8. 配列番号６９、配列番号７１、配列番号７６、およびそれらの相補鎖からなる群より選択される核酸配列の少なくとも５０個連続するヌクレオチドからなる、オリゴヌクレオチドプローブまたはプライマー。
  9. 請求項１〜７のいずれか一項に記載の単離された核酸分子によってコードされる、単離されたタンパク質。
  10. プロモーターと機能的に連結している、請求項１〜７のいずれか一項に記載の単離された核酸分子を含む、組み換え核酸分子。
  11. 請求項１〜７のいずれか一項に記載の単離された核酸分子の少なくとも１つのコピーを含む、組換え細胞。
  12. 植物細胞または微生物細胞である、請求項１１記載の組換え細胞。
  13. 請求項１１または１２の組み換え細胞によって産生される油。
  14. 植物細胞における長鎖多価不飽和脂肪酸の産生のための方法であって、植物により長鎖多価不飽和脂肪酸が産生される条件下で、請求項１２に記載の組み換え植物細胞の複数を含む植物を生育させる段階を含む、方法。
  15. 請求項１〜７のいずれか一項記載の核酸分子によってコードされるタンパク質を発現する、トランスジェニック植物。
  16. 請求項１５記載のトランスジェニック植物により産生される植物油。
  17. 微生物細胞培養物における長鎖多価不飽和脂肪酸の産生のための方法であって、微生物細胞により長鎖多価不飽和脂肪酸が産生される条件下で、請求項１２に記載の組み換え微生物細胞の複数を含む微生物細胞培養物を生育させる段階を含む、方法。
  18. PUFAを産生するためのPKS-様系由来のタンパク質またはその断片をコードする核酸配列を同定する方法であって、該核酸配列を同定するために、多価不飽和脂肪酸（PUFA）を産生する生物から構築した核酸ライブラリーを、配列番号７０、配列番号７２、または配列番号７３のタンパク質またはそれらの断片をコードする核酸配列と相補的なオリゴヌクレオチドプローブでスクリーニングする段階を含む、方法。
  19. 配列番号７０のタンパク質またはその断片をコードする核酸配列が配列番号６９を含む、請求項１８記載の方法。
  20. 配列番号７２のタンパク質またはその断片をコードする核酸配列が配列番号７１を含む、請求項１８記載の方法。
  21. 配列番号７３のタンパク質またはその断片をコードする核酸配列が配列番号７６を含む、請求項１８記載の方法。
