Abstract
【解決手段】2Dまたは3D映像を表示する映像表示パネルと、映像表示パネルに2Dまたは3Dデータフォーマットのデータ電圧を印加する駆動回路と、2Dまたは3Dモードで駆動回路を制御するコントローラと、映像表示パネルの前に配置され、3Dモードで映像表示パネルからの光を第1偏光と第2偏光の光に分割するパターンリターダを備え、映像表示パネルのR、G及びBサブピクセルそれぞれは1個のデータラインと2個の隣接したゲートラインにより分割駆動される第1及び第2細部サブピクセルを含み、2Dモードで、第1及び第2細部サブピクセルに同一な2Dデータフォーマットのデータ電圧が印加され、3Dモードで、第1細部サブピクセルに3Dデータフォーマットのデータ電圧が印加される反面、第2細部サブピクセルにブラック階調電圧が印加される。

Claims (9)
- 2D映像または3D映像を表示する映像表示パネルと、
前記映像表示パネルに前記2D映像のための2Dデータフォーマットのデータ電圧または前記3D映像のための3Dデータフォーマットのデータ電圧を印加する駆動回路と、
前記2D映像を表示するための2Dモードまたは前記3D映像を表示するための3Dモードで前記駆動回路を制御するコントローラと、
前記映像表示パネルの前に配置され、前記3Dモードで前記映像表示パネルからの光を第1偏光と第2偏光の光とに分割するパターニングされたリターダと
を備え、
前記映像表示パネルのR、G及びBサブピクセルのそれぞれは、1個のデータラインと2個の隣接したゲートラインにより分割駆動される第1細部サブピクセルと第2細部サブピクセルとを含み、
前記2Dモードにおいて、前記第1及び第2細部サブピクセルには同一の前記2Dデータフォーマットのデータ電圧が印加され、
前記3Dモードにおいて、前記第1細部サブピクセルには前記3Dデータフォーマットのデータ電圧が印加される反面、前記第2細部サブピクセルにはブラック階調電圧が印加される
ことを特徴とする映像表示装置。 - 前記映像表示パネルが前記3D映像を表示する場合、前記R、G及びBサブピクセルの第1細部サブピクセルにはそれぞれ前記3DデータフォーマットのR、G及びBデータ電圧が印加され、前記R、G及びBサブピクセルの第2細部サブピクセルには前記ブラック階調電圧が印加される
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記コントローラは、3Dデータフォーマットで外部から入力されたRGBデジタルビデオデータと内部で生成されたデジタルブラックデータとをそれぞれ1水平ライン分ずつ交ぜる方式でデータを整列して前記駆動回路に供給する
ことを特徴とする、請求項2記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記映像表示パネルが前記2D映像を表示する場合、前記Rサブピクセルの第1及び第2細部サブピクセルには前記2Dデータフォーマットの同一なRデータ電圧が印加され、前記Gサブピクセルの第1及び第2細部サブピクセルには前記2Dデータフォーマットの同一なGデータ電圧が印加され、前記Bサブピクセルの第1及び第2細部サブピクセルには前記2Dデータフォーマットの同一なBデータ電圧が印加される
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記コントローラは、2Dデータフォーマットで外部から入力されたRGBデジタルビデオデータを1水平ライン単位でコピーした後、前記入力されたRGBデジタルビデオデータと前記コピーされたRGBデジタルビデオデータとをそれぞれ1水平ライン分ずつ交ぜる方式でデータを整列して前記駆動回路に供給する
ことを特徴とする、請求項4記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記コントローラは、外部から印加されるタイミング信号を利用して前記駆動回路の動作タイミングを制御するためのタイミング制御信号を発生すると共に前記タイミング制御信号を定数倍に倍速して、入力データに同期するフレーム周波数対比2倍のフレーム周波数で前記駆動回路を制御する
ことを特徴とする、請求項3または5記載の映像表示装置。 - サブピクセルの総垂直ピッチで前記第2細部サブピクセルの垂直ピッチの占める割合は前記3D映像の視野角と前記3D映像の輝度にしたがって決まる
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記3D映像の視野角は前記第2細部サブピクセルの垂直ピッチが占める割合に比例して広くなり、
前記3D映像の輝度は前記第2細部サブピクセルの垂直ピッチが占める割合に比例して減少する
ことを特徴とする、請求項7記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記第1偏光と第2偏光は、互いに垂直した偏光特性を有する
ことを特徴とする、請求項1記載の映像表示装置。
