Abstract
【解決手段】ハニカム構造体は、複数の貫通孔が隔壁を隔てて並設されたハニカムユニット11とコート層15とを有する。ハニカムユニットは、SOx吸蔵剤と無機粒子と無機バインダとを含み、コート層は隔壁上に形成され、SOx吸蔵剤と、無機粒子とを含む。ハニカムユニットの塩基性度はコート層の塩基性度より大きくなっている。この構成により、ハニカム構造体のSOxの吸蔵性能を向上させる。このハニカム構造体を、排ガスの流れに対して、NOx吸蔵剤を含む別のハニカム構造体の上流側に配置することにより、NOx吸蔵剤のSOx被毒を抑制できる。

Description
複数の貫通孔が隔壁を隔てて長手方向に並設された少なくとも一つのハニカムユニットと、コート層とを有するハニカム構造体であって、
前記ハニカムユニットは、第一のSOx吸蔵剤と、第一の無機粒子と、無機バインダとを含み、
前記コート層は、前記隔壁上に形成され、第二のSOx吸蔵剤と、第二の無機粒子とを含み、
前記ハニカムユニットの塩基性度は、前記コート層の塩基性度よりも大きいことを特徴とするハニカム構造体が提供される。
まず、SOx吸蔵剤として使用される酸化マグネシウム440gと、無機粒子として使用される、平均粒径が2μmのγアルミナ1750g、および平均粒径が2μmのジルコニア50gと、無機繊維として使用される、平均繊維径が6μmで、平均繊維長が100μmのアルミナ繊維680gと、無機バインダとして使用される、固形分20重量%を含むアルミナゾル2600gと、有機バインダとして使用されるメチルセルロース195gとを混合混練して、原料ペーストを調製した。押出成形機を用いて、原料ペーストを押出成形し、生のハニカム成形体を得た。マイクロ波乾燥機および熱風乾燥機を用いて、ハニカム成形体を乾燥させた後、これを400℃で2時間脱脂した。次に、ハニカム成形体を700℃で2時間焼成した。これにより、高さ35mm、幅35mm、長さ68mmの正四角柱状のハニカムユニットが得られた。ハニカムユニットの長手方向に垂直な断面の1cm2当たりの貫通孔数は、93個であり、隔壁の厚さは、0.2mmであった。
原料ペーストに使用されるγアルミナおよびジルコニアの量を、それぞれ1700gおよび100gとした以外は、実施例1と実質的に同様の方法で、白金が担持されたハニカム構造体を製作した。
原料ペーストに使用されるγアルミナおよびジルコニアの量を、それぞれ1500gおよび300gとした以外は、実施例1と実質的に同様の方法で、白金が担持されたハニカム構造体を製作した。
原料ペーストを調製する際に、ジルコニアの代わりに炭酸カルシウムを用いた以外は、実施例3と実質的に同様の方法で、白金が担持されたハニカム構造体を製作した。
原料ペーストに使用されるγアルミナおよびジルコニアの量を、それぞれ1300gおよび500gとした以外は、実施例1と実質的に同様の方法で、白金が担持されたハニカム構造体を製作した。
原料ペーストに使用されるγアルミナおよびジルコニアの量を、それぞれ1000gおよび800gとした以外は、実施例1と実質的に同様の方法で、白金が担持されたハニカム構造体を製作した。
原料ペーストに使用されるγアルミナおよびジルコニアの量を、それぞれ1800gおよび0g(なし)とした以外は、実施例1と実質的に同様の方法で、白金が担持されたハニカム構造体を製作した。
原料ペーストに使用されるγアルミナおよびジルコニアの量を、それぞれ1800gおよび0g(なし)とし、ジルコニアの代わりに、γアルミナを用いてコート層用分散液を調製した以外は、実施例1と実質的に同様の方法で、白金が担持されたハニカム構造体を製作した。

全自動温度制御脱離スペクトル装置TPD−1−ATw(日本ベル社製)を用いて、真空中で、各試料(実施例および比較例において製造したハニカムユニットおよびコート層の粉体を乾燥させたもの)0.05gを昇温速度10℃/分で、300℃に昇温して、60分間放置した。次に、試料を100℃まで冷却し、定常状態としてから、CO2を30分間導入して、試料に吸着させた。温度を100℃に保持した状態で、CO2を排気して、試料を30分間、真空に保持した。次に、流量50mL/分でヘリウムを導入しながら、試料を昇温速度10℃/分で、600℃まで昇温した。この間に、ヘリウム中に脱離したCO2の累積量を測定した。なお、CO2の検出には、四重極型質量分析計を用いた。全ての試料における測定結果を表1に示す。
SOxの吸蔵量が500gになるまで、空間速度(SV)50000/hrで、400℃の模擬ガスをハニカム構造体に流しながら、MEXA−7100DおよびMEXA−1170SX(以上、HORIBA社製)を用いて、ハニカム構造体から排出されるガス中のSOxの濃度を測定した(検出限界0.1ppm)。模擬ガスの構成成分は、窒素(balance)、二酸化炭素(10体積%)、酸素(10体積%)、一酸化窒素(200ppm)、一酸化炭素(0体積%)、炭化水素(200ppm)、二酸化硫黄(125ppm)である。

Claims (13)
- 複数の貫通孔が隔壁を隔てて長手方向に並設された少なくとも一つのハニカムユニットと、コート層とを有するハニカム構造体であって、

前記コート層は、前記隔壁上に形成され、第二のSOx吸蔵剤と、第二の無機粒子とを含み、
前記ハニカムユニットの塩基性度は、前記コート層の塩基性度よりも大きいことを特徴とするハニカム構造体。 - 前記第一のSOx吸蔵剤及び第二のSOx吸蔵剤は、それぞれ独立に、アルカリ金属及びアルカリ土類金属の少なくとも一方を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記第一のSOx吸蔵剤及び第二のSOx吸蔵剤は、それぞれ独立に、カリウム、マグネシウム及びバリウムの少なくとも一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁は、前記第一のSOx吸蔵剤を1.0mol/L以上2.5mol/L以下含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記第一の無機粒子及び前記第二の無機粒子は、それぞれ独立に、アルミナ、ジルコニア、炭酸カルシウム、チタニア及びシリカからなる群より選択される一種以上を含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記第一の無機粒子は、前記第二の無機粒子と同一の粒子と、前記第二の無機粒子よりも塩基性度が大きい別の粒子を含み、
前記第二の無機粒子は、アルミナを有し、
前記第二の無機粒子よりも塩基性度が大きい別の粒子は、ジルコニアを有することを特徴とする請求項5に記載のハニカム構造体。 - 前記第一の無機粒子は、前記ジルコニアを3重量%以上30重量%以下含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記無機バインダは、アルミナゾル、シリカゾル、チタニアゾル、水ガラス、セピオライト及びアタパルジャイトの固形分のうちの少なくとも一つを有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記ハニカムユニットは、無機繊維をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記無機繊維は、アルミナ、シリカ、炭化ケイ素、シリカアルミナ、ガラス、チタン酸カリウム及びホウ酸アルミニウムからなる群より選択される一種以上を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 当該ハニカム構造体は、接着層を介して相互に接着された、複数のハニカムユニットを有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁に、貴金属触媒が担持されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至11のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記貴金属触媒は、白金、パラジウム及びロジウムの少なくとも一つを有することを特徴とする請求項12に記載のハニカム構造体。
