Abstract
【解決手段】電気光学装置用基板は、基板(301)上に、互いに交差する複数の走査線(40)及び複数のデータ線(50)と、複数の走査線及び複数のデータ線の交差に対応して設けられた複数の画素電極(21)と、複数の画素電極に夫々対応し、対応する画素電極をスイッチング制御する複数の半導体素子(24)とを備える。基板上で平面的に見て、複数の半導体素子のうち少なくとも一の半導体素子は、一の半導体素子に対応する一の画素電極に隣り合う他の画素電極に少なくとも部分的に重なるように配置されている。

Description
本発明に係る電気光学装置の実施形態について、図面1乃至図3を参照して説明する。尚、本実施形態では、本発明に係る電気光学装置の一例として電気泳動表示装置を挙げる。また、以下の図では、各層・各部材を図面上で認識可能な程度の大きさとするため、該各層・各部材ごとに縮尺を異ならしめてある。
次に、本実施形態に係る電気泳動表示装置1の第1変形例について、図4を参照して説明する。ここに、図4は、図2と同趣旨の、本実施形態の第1変形例に係る隣り合う画素の平面図である。
次に、本実施形態に係る電気泳動表示装置1の第2変形例について、図5を参照して説明する。ここに、図5は、図3と同趣旨の、本実施形態の第2変形例に係る隣り合う複数の画素部の断面図である。
次に、本実施形態に係る電気泳動表示装置1の第3変形例について、図6及び図7を参照して説明する。ここに、図6は、図4と同趣旨の、本実施形態の第3変形例に係る隣り合う画素の平面図である。図7は、図3と同趣旨の、本実施形態の第3変形例に係る隣り合う画素部の断面図である。
次に、上述した電気泳動表示装置1を適用した電子機器について、図8及び図9を参照して説明する。以下では、上述した電気泳動表示装置1を電子ペーパー及び電子ノートに適用した場合を例に挙げる。
Claims (7)
- 基板上に、
互いに交差する複数の走査線及び複数のデータ線と、
前記複数の走査線及び前記複数のデータ線の交差に対応して設けられた複数の画素電極と、
前記複数の画素電極に夫々対応し、対応する画素電極をスイッチング制御する複数の半導体素子と
を備え、
前記基板上で平面的に見て、前記複数の半導体素子のうち少なくとも一の半導体素子は、前記一の半導体素子に対応する一の画素電極に隣り合う他の画素電極に少なくとも部分的に重なるように配置されている
ことを特徴とする電気光学装置用基板。 - 前記他の画素電極は、前記一の画素電極の前記データ線が延びる方向に隣り合う画素電極であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置用基板。
- 前記複数の画素電極の各々は、導電性及び遮光性を有する材料を含んでなることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の電気光学装置用基板。
- 前記複数の半導体素子の各々は、前記データ線が延びる方向に沿ったチャネル長を有するチャネル領域を有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置用基板。
- 前記複数の画素電極の各々は、光を透過する透過部と、光を遮る遮光部とを有し、
前記遮光部は、前記一の半導体素子に少なくとも部分的に重なるように配置されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置用基板。 - 請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置用基板を備えることを特徴とする電気光学装置。
- 請求項6に記載の電気光学装置を備えることを特徴とする電子機器。
