Abstract
【解決手段】キャニスタ内の吸着材を加熱するためのPTCヒータ10に供給する電力を、キャニスタ内に導入するパージエア量に応じて可変制御する計量装置15を設ける。計量装置15は、キャニスタ内におけるパージエアの流路を遮るように配置され、そのパージエアの流量に応じて動作するフラップ17と、PTCヒータ10と電気的に直列に接続され、フラップ17の位置に応じて電気抵抗が変化するポテンショメータ16と、を備えていて、パージエアの流量増加に伴ってポテンショメータ16における電気抵抗が減少し、PTCヒータ10に供給する電力が増大する。

Claims (5)
- 燃料タンクで発生した蒸発燃料をキャニスタ内の吸着材に一旦保持し、エンジン稼働時にそのエンジンの吸気圧をもってキャニスタ内に導入したパージエアにより、上記吸着材から上記蒸発燃料に相当する燃料を脱離させて上記エンジンへ供給する蒸発燃料処理装置であって、電気ヒータをもって上記吸着材を加熱するようにしたものにおいて、
上記キャニスタ内に導入するパージエア量に応じて上記電気ヒータに供給する電力を可変制御する給電制御手段を有していることを特徴とする蒸発燃料処理装置。 - 上記電気ヒータがPTCヒータであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の蒸発燃料処理装置。
- 上記給電制御手段は、上記キャニスタ内におけるパージエアの流路を遮るように配置され、そのパージエアの流量に応じて動作するフラップと、上記電気ヒータに電力を供給するための電気回路に介装され、上記フラップの位置に応じて電気抵抗が変化する可変抵抗器と、を備えていて、
上記パージエアの流量増加に伴って上記可変抵抗器の電気抵抗が減少し、上記電気ヒータに供給する電力が増大するようになっていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の蒸発燃料処理装置。 - 上記可変抵抗器の電気抵抗が上記フラップの位置に応じて連続的に変化するようになっていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の蒸発燃料処理装置。
- 上記キャニスタの内部空間のうち上記エンジンの吸気通路に接続されるパージポートの直前に、上記吸着材の充填されていない蒸発燃料排出室が形成されていて、その蒸発燃料排出室に上記フラップが配置されていることを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載の蒸発燃料処理装置。
