Claims (10)
- 断面を横切る中心軸線を有するハニカム網状組織の複数のセルを画成する相互接続された複数のウェブを備えたセラミックハニカム構造体において、
前記複数のウェブが、
前記中心軸線から互いに分岐するように配置された長さの異なる複数の半径方向ウェブであって、少なくともその一部が前記中心軸線から前記網状組織の最外周まで延びている半径方向ウェブ、および
前記中心軸線に対して同心的に配置された複数の接線方向ウェブ
を包含することを特徴とするセラミックハニカム構造体。 - 前記ハニカム網状組織を取り囲む外皮をさらに備え、前記網状組織の最外周辺部を画成する複数の半径方向ウェブのそれぞれが、前記外皮の内周縁に対しほぼ直交する方位で接合することを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミックハニカム構造体。
- 前記ハニカム網状組織は複数の遷移ゾーンを備え、該複数の遷移ゾーンのそれぞれが、前記複数の接線方向ウェブの1本によって画成され、前記半径方向ウェブの本数が半径方向で変化することを特徴とする請求項2記載のセラミックハニカム構造体。
- 前記半径方向ウェブの本数は、前記複数の遷移ゾーンの少なくとも一部において、半径方向に前記中心軸線に向かって減らされていることを特徴とする請求項3記載のセラミックハニカム構造体。
- 半径方向における前記複数の遷移ゾーンの少なくとも一部は、隅肉、先細にされた半径方向の壁、または厚くされた遷移ウェブによって補強されていることを特徴とする請求項4記載のセラミックハニカム構造体。
- 前記半径方向ウェブの本数は、選択された平均セル密度が前記網状組織全体に亘ってほぼ維持されるように、前記中心軸線に向かって減少していることを特徴とする請求項4記載のセラミックハニカム構造体。
- 外皮と、
該外皮の内部に収容されたハニカム網状組織を形成する複数の相互接続されたウェブとを備えた、前記ハニカム網状組織が断面の内部に重心を有するセラミックハニカム構造体において、
前記ウェブが、
複数の半径方向ウェブであって、それぞれが前記外皮に対しほぼ直交する方位で接合し、一部のみがほぼ前記重心から前記外皮まで延び、残りが前記網状組織の半径の長さよりも短くなっている半径方向ウェブ、および
前記重心に対して接線方向に配置されて、放射状に配列された複数のセルを画成する複数の接線方向ウェブ、
を包含していることを特徴とするセラミックハニカム構造体。 - 前記複数の半径方向ウェブの本数が、前記重心に向かって減少していることを特徴とする請求項7記載のセラミックハニカム構造体。
- 前記複数の半径方向ウェブの本数が、選択された複数の遷移ゾーンにおいて減らされており、該複数の遷移ゾーンのそれぞれが前記複数の接線方向ウェブの1本によって画成されていることを特徴とする請求項8記載のセラミックハニカム構造体。
- 円筒状外皮と、
該外皮の内部に収容された、ハニカム網状組織を画成する複数の相互接続されたウェブとを備え、前記網状組織が、複数のセルと前記網状組織の断面内の重心とを有するセラミックハニカム構造体において、
前記複数のウェブが、
前記外皮の内周縁に対しほぼ直交する方位で接合するように配置された複数の半径方向ウェブであって、一部の前記半径方向ウェブのみが前記円筒状外皮の半径にほぼ対応する半径方向長さを有し、かつ前記複数の半径方向ウェブの本数が、前記半径に沿う選択された遷移ゾーンにおいて前記重心に向かう方向に減らされている半径方向ウェブ、および
前記重心に対して同心的に配置された複数の接線方向ウェブであって、1本の接線方向ウェブが前記半径に沿った各遷移ゾーンを画成し、各接線方向遷移ウェブが他の全ての接線方向非遷移ウェブよりも高い強度を有している接線方向ウェブ、
を包含することを特徴とするセラミックハニカム構造体。
