Abstract

Claims (3)
- 液晶ディスプレイ(100)用のバックライトシステム(104)であって、
第1の主面(108)と前記第1の主面(110)の反対側の第2の主面(110)とを含むと共に、前記液晶ディスプレイ(100)の可視域に対応する可視領域(105)を含む実質的に平面の屈折性導波路(106)と、
光を生成するため前記視野領域(105)内で前記第2の主面(108)に近接して位置付けられた光源(116)と、
前記視野領域(105)内で前記第2の主面(108)及び前記第1の主面(110)の1つ又はそれ以上に近接し、前記光を前記導波路(106)内に光学的に結合して前記光が導波光になるようにする注入特徴部(114)と、
前記視野領域(105)内で前記第2の主面(108)及び前記第1の主面(110)の1つ又はそれ以上に近接し、前記導波光を前記導波路(106)の外部に光学的に結合する複数の抽出特徴部(128)と、
を備えるバックライトシステム(104)。 - 液晶ディスプレイ(100)用のバックライトシステム(104)であって、
第1の主面(110)と前記第1の主面(110)の反対側の第2の主面(108)を含むと共に、前記液晶ディスプレイ(100)の可視域に対応する可視領域(105)を含む実質的に平面の導波路(106)と、
光を生成するため前記視野領域(105)内で前記第2の主面(108)に近接して位置付けられた光源(116)と、
前記視野領域(105)内で前記第2の主面(108)及び前記第1の主面(110)の少なくとも1つに近接し、前記光を前記導波路(106)内に光学的に結合して前記光が導波光になるようにする注入特徴部(114)と、
前記視野領域(108)内で前記第2の主面(108)及び前記第1の主面(110)の少なくとも1つに近接して前記導波光を前記導波路(106)の外部に光学的に結合するようにし、且つ変動する抽出密度を有する複数の抽出特徴部(128)と、
を備えるバックライトシステム(104)。 - 複数のピクセルを有するLCDパネル(102)と、
前記ピクセルに結合され、該ピクセルを照明して画像を形成するバックライトシステム(104)と、
を備えた液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)(100)であって、
前記バックライトシステム(104)が、
第1の主面(108)と前記第1の主面(108)の反対側の第2の主面(110)とを含むと共に、前記液晶ディスプレイ(100)の可視域に対応する可視領域(105)を含む実質的に平面の誘電体導波路(106)と、
光を生成するため前記視野領域(105)内で前記第2の主面(108)に近接して位置付けられた光源(116)と、
前記視野領域(105)内で屈折を介して前記光を前記導波路(106)に光学的に結合して、前記光が導波光となるようにする注入特徴部(114)と、
前記視野領域(105)内で、前記導波光を前記導波路(106)の外部に光学的に結合し、且つ変動する抽出密度を有する複数の抽出特徴部(128)と、
を含む液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)(100)。
