Abstract
Description
本件出願は2004年7月27日出願の米国仮特許出願第60/591,533号の優先権を主張するものである。
(a)約40〜約95重量パーセントの少なくとも1つのポリアミド、
(b)約5〜約50重量パーセントの少なくとも1つの無機充填剤、および
(c)約0.1〜約10重量パーセントの少なくとも1つの可塑剤
を含むポリアミド組成物を含む物品に金属メッキを施す工程を含む、金属メッキされたポリアミド組成物の製造方法が本明細書で開示され、権利請求の対象となる。
ポリアミド6は47の相対粘度のポリアミドである。
カ焼粘土は、イメリーズ・ミネラルズ社、英国コーンウォール(Imerys Minerals Ltd.,Cornwall UK)から入手可能な、ポラライト(Polarite)(登録商標)102Aである。
熱安定剤はヨウ化カリウム、ヨウ化銅、およびアルミニウムジステアレートのブレンドである。
実施例1〜6について表1に示す原料を、約260℃で運転する55mm混練機で溶融ブレンドした。溶融温度は約300℃であった。可塑剤はダイに近い液体注入器によって供給した。押出機を出ると直ぐにストランドを冷却し、ペレットへカットした。比較例1は、本願特許出願人から入手可能なミンロン(Minlon)(登録商標)73M40 NC010であった。物理的特性および組成物のマーブリングを全く示さない成形プラークをもたらす射出成形速度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
Claims (10)
- 重量百分率が組成物の総重量を基準としている、
(a)約40〜約95重量パーセントの少なくとも1つのポリアミド、
(b)約5〜約50重量パーセントの少なくとも1つの無機充填剤、および
(c)約0.1〜約10重量パーセントの少なくとも1つの可塑剤
を含むポリアミド組成物を含む物品に金属メッキを施す工程を含むことを特徴とする金属メッキされたポリアミド組成物の製造方法。 - 前記ポリアミドがポリアミド6、ポリアミド6,6、ポリアミド6,T/6,6、またはポリアミド6,T/D,Tの1つまたは複数であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリアミド組成物がポリアミド(a)の総重量を基準にして(d)約0.01〜約3重量パーセントの少なくとも1つの有機酸をさらに溶融ブレンドすることによって製造されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記有機酸がドデカン二酸および/またはアジピン酸であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記無機充填剤がカ焼粘土、タルク、および/またはウォラストナイトであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記可塑剤がN−ブチルベンゼンスルホンアミド、N−エチル−o−トルエンスルホンアミド、またはN−エチル−p−トルエンスルホンアミドの1つまたは複数であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記金属メッキ工程が前記物品の表面を酸でエッチングする工程と、エッチングされた表面にメッキ触媒を塗布する工程と、無電解金属メッキを施す工程と、電気メッキを施す工程とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法によってメッキされることを特徴とする物品。
- 車両ドアハンドル、トランクハンドル、ギアシフター、ロゴ、ステアリングホイール、ホイールカバー、トリムエレメント、またはハブキャップの形態にあることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の物品。
- オートバイもしくはスクーター・エンジンカバー、タンク給油口蓋、トリムエレメント、またはハンドルバー端の形態にあることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の物品。
