Abstract
【解決手段】 車両に縦置きに搭載される内燃機関50の排気系10Aに配設された前段触媒11Aと、排気系10Aのうち、前段触媒11Aよりも下流側の部分に前段触媒11Aと直列に配設された後段触媒12とを有して構成される内燃機関の排気浄化装置100Aであって、排気系10Aのうち、前段触媒11Aよりも上流側の部分で排気系10Aの排気通路に連通するとともに、排気系10Aのうち、前段触媒11Aと後段触媒12との間の部分で排気系10Aの排気通路に連通するバイパスパイプ15Aを備えるとともに、バイパスパイプ15Aが排気系10Aの排気通路から内燃機関50の主たる振動方向Fに平行な方向よりも垂直な方向に向かってより大きく離れた位置に配設されている。

Claims (8)
- 車両に縦置きに搭載される内燃機関の排気系に配設された前段触媒と、前記排気系のうち、前記前段触媒よりも下流側の部分に該前段触媒と直列に配設された後段触媒とを有して構成される内燃機関の排気浄化装置であって、
前記排気系のうち、前記前段触媒よりも上流側の部分で前記排気系の排気通路に連通するとともに、前記排気系のうち、前記前段触媒と前記後段触媒との間の部分で前記排気系の排気通路に連通するバイパスパイプを備えるとともに、該バイパスパイプが前記排気系の排気通路から前記内燃機関の主たる振動方向に平行な方向よりも垂直な方向に向かってより大きく離れた位置に配設されていることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記主たる振動方向が水平方向であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記内燃機関が、気筒休止運転が行なわれることがある内燃機関であるとともに、前記バイパスパイプが気筒群毎に分岐した前記排気系のうち、気筒休止運転時に運転される気筒群側の排気系に配設された前記前段触媒よりも上流側の排気通路に連通していることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 内燃機関の排気系にガスが双方向から流入可能なように配設された前段触媒と、前記排気系のうち、前記前段触媒よりも下流側の部分に配設された後段触媒と、前記前段触媒に流入するガスの向きを切替える流入方向切替手段とを有して構成される内燃機関の排気浄化装置と、前記内燃機関とを備えるとともに、前記前段触媒の上流側に配設された第1のガスセンサの出力を前記内燃機関の燃料噴射量に反映させるフィードバック制御手段と、前記前段触媒の下流側、且つ前記後段触媒の上流側に配設された第2のガスセンサの出力を前記内燃機関の燃料噴射量に反映させるサブフィードバック制御手段とによって空燃比がフィードバック制御される内燃機関システムで、前記流入方向切替手段を制御するための内燃機関の排気制御装置であって、
前記フィードバック制御手段及び前記サブフィードバック制御手段によって空燃比がフィードバック制御されているときに、前記第2のガスセンサの出力がリッチ出力からリーン出力になった場合に、前記前段触媒に流入するガスの向きを逆向きに切替えるように前記流入方向切替手段を制御する第1の排気制御手段を備えることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気制御装置。 - 前記前段触媒がフロント高担持触媒であり、さらに前記内燃機関の冷間始動時に前記前段触媒に流入するガスの向きが高担持側から流入する向きになるように、前記流入方向切替手段を制御する第2の排気制御手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項4記載の内燃機関の排気制御装置。
- さらに前記内燃機関の暖機が完了した場合に、前記前段触媒に流入するガスの向きを高担持側から流入する向きとは逆向きに切替えるように、前記流入方向切替手段を制御する第3の排気制御手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項5記載の内燃機関の排気制御装置。
- 前記流入方向切替手段が、前記前段触媒にガスを双方向から流入可能にした状態で、さらに下流側に向かってガスが流通するように構成されているとともに、前記内燃機関で行われるフューエルカット制御に応じて、前記前段触媒に流入するガスの向きを双方向から流入可能な向きに切替えるように、前記流入方向切替手段を制御する第4の排気制御手段をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項4から6いずれか1項記載の内燃機関の排気制御装置。
- さらに前記前段触媒に第3のガスセンサが配設されるとともに、前記フィードバック制御手段及び前記サブフィードバック制御手段によって空燃比がフィードバック制御されているときに、前記第3のガスセンサの出力がリーン制御時にリッチ出力からリーン出力になった場合に、前記サブフィードバック制御手段が、前記第2のガスセンサの出力の代わりに、前記第3のガスセンサの出力を前記内燃機関の燃料噴射量に反映させるとともに、
前記フィードバック制御手段及び前記サブフィードバック制御手段によって空燃比がフィードバック制御されているときに、前記第3のガスセンサの出力がリーン制御時にリッチ出力からリーン出力になった場合に、前記前段触媒に流入するガスの向きを逆向きに切替えるように前記流入方向切替手段を制御する第5の排気制御手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項3記載の内燃機関の排気制御装置。
