Description
(2)前記発光光源は、330〜420nmの波長を有する光を発するLEDまたはLDであり、前記蛍光体は、前記光により520nm〜550nmの波長に発光ピークを持つ緑色光を発する緑色蛍光体と、前記光により600nm〜700nmの波長に発光ピークを持つ赤色光を発する赤色蛍光体とをさらに有し、前記化合物による青色光と前記緑色光と前記赤色光との混合により白色光を発するようにしてあることを特徴とする前記(1)項に記載の照明器具。

(6)前記黄色蛍光体は、Euを付活剤としたCa−αサイアロンであることを特徴とする前記(3)項に記載の照明器具。
(7)前記化合物は、AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶であることを特徴とする前記(1)〜(6)項のいずれかに記載の照明器具。
(8)前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶は、ウルツ型AlN結晶構造、または、2Hδ、27R、21R、12H、15Rおよび8Hから選ばれるいずれかの結晶構造を持つことを特徴とする前記(7)項に記載の照明器具。

以上の条件を満たすものは、ピーク波長が560nm以上650nm以下の範囲の赤色の蛍光体となる。
原料粉末は、平均粒径0.5μm、酸素含有量0.93重量%、α型含有量92%の窒化ケイ素粉末、比表面積3.3m2/g、酸素含有量0.79%の窒化アルミニウム粉末、純度99.9%の酸化ユーロピュウム粉末を用いた。
実施例1と同じ原料粉末を用いて、表1に示す組成を得るべく、窒化ケイ素粉末と窒化アルミニウム粉末と酸化ユーロピュウム粉末とを所定量秤量し、窒化ケイ素焼結体製のポットと窒化ケイ素焼結体製のボールとn−ヘキサンを用いて湿式ボールミルにより2時間混合した。ロータリーエバポレータによりn−ヘキサンを除去し、混合粉体の乾燥物を得た。得られた混合物をメノウ乳鉢と乳棒を用いて粉砕した後に500μmのふるいを通すことにより流動性に優れる粉体凝集体を得た。この粉体凝集体を直径20mm高さ20mmの大きさの窒化ホウ素製るつぼに自然落下させて入れた。つぎに、るつぼを黒鉛抵抗加熱方式の電気炉にセットした。焼成操作は、まず、拡散ポンプにより焼成雰囲気を真空とし、室温から800℃まで毎時500℃の速度で加熱し、800℃で純度が99.999体積%の窒素を導入して圧力を1MPaとし、毎時500℃で1900℃まで昇温し、その温度で2時間保持した。X線回折によれば、得られた焼成物はすべてAlNまたはAlN固溶体を50質量%以上含んでおり、蛍光分光測定を行なったところ表2に示すように紫外線から可視光で励起されて471nm〜480nmの間の波長にピークを持つ青色を発する蛍光体が得られた。
実施例1と同じ窒化ケイ素、窒化アルミニウム粉末および酸化ホウ素、窒化ホウ素、炭酸マンガン、酸化セリウム、酸化プラセオジウム、酸化ネオジム、酸化サマリウム、酸化ユーロピウム、酸化テルビウム、酸化ディスプロシウム粉末を原料として用いた。表3に示す組成を得るべく、原料粉末を表4に示す所定量秤量し、窒化ケイ素製の乳鉢と乳棒で10分間混合した。得られた混合物を500μmのふるいを通すことにより流動性に優れる粉体凝集体を得た。この粉体凝集体を直径20mm高さ20mmの大きさの窒化ホウ素製るつぼに自然落下させて入れた。つぎに、るつぼを黒鉛抵抗加熱方式の電気炉にセットした。焼成操作は、まず、拡散ポンプにより焼成雰囲気を真空とし、室温から800℃まで毎時500℃の速度で加熱し、800℃で純度が99.999体積%の窒素を導入して圧力を1MPaとし、毎時500℃で1900℃まで昇温し、その温度で2時間保持した。

- 前記化合物は、前記金属元素Mとして少なくともMnを含有し、発光ピーク波長が560nm以上650nm以下の範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1項に記載の照明器具。
- 前記蛍光体は、前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶晶と異なる結晶相あるいはアモルファス相をさらに含み、前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶の含有量は10質量%以上であることを特徴とする請求項7項に記載の照明器具。
- 前記異なる結晶相あるいはアモルファス相が導電性を持つ無機物質であることを特徴とする請求項14項に記載の照明器具。
- 前記導電性を持つ無機物質が、Zn、Ga、In、Snから選ばれる1種または2種以上の元素を含有する酸化物、酸窒化物、または窒化物、あるいはこれらの混合物であることを特徴とする請求項15項に記載の照明器具。
- 電子線、電場、真空紫外線、または紫外線による励起源と、前記励起源により励起される蛍光体とを有する画像表示装置において、
前記蛍光体は、金属元素M(ただし、Mは、Mn、Ce、Nd、Sm、Eu、Tb、Dy、Ho、Er、Tm、Ybから選ばれる1種または2種以上の元素)と、Alと、Oと、Nと、元素A(ただし、Aは、C、Si、Ge、Sn、B、Ga、In、Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba、Sc、Y、La、Gd、Lu、Ti、Zr、Hf、Ta、Wから選ばれる1種または2種以上の元素)とを含有する化合物を有することを特徴とする画像表示装置。 - 前記画像表示装置が、蛍光表示管(VFD)、フィールドエミッションディスプレイ(FED)、プラズマディスプレイパネル(PDP)、陰極線管(CRT)のいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項17項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記化合物は、AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶であることを特徴とする請求項17項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶は、ウルツ型AlN結晶構造、または、2Hδ、27R、21R、12H、15Rおよび8Hから選ばれるいずれかの結晶構造を持つことを特徴とする請求項19項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記化合物は、CuKα線を用いたX線回折による測定において、2θ値が少なくとも、32度以上35度以下、および、58度以上62度以下の範囲に、前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶由来の回折ピークを持つことを特徴とする請求項20項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記32度以上35度以下の回折ピークが前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶の(100)面由来であり、前記58度以上62度以下の回折ピークが前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶の(110)面由来であることを特徴とする請求項21項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記化合物は、組成式MaAlbAcNdOe(式中、a+b+c+d+e=1とする)で示され、
0.00001≦ a ≦0.1・・・・・・・・・・(i)
0.4≦ b ≦0.55・・・・・・・・・・・・・(ii)
0.001≦ c ≦0.1・・・・・・・・・・・・(iii)
0.4≦ d ≦0.55・・・・・・・・・・・・・(iv)
0.001≦ e ≦0.1・・・・・・・・・・・・(v)
以上の条件を満たす組成で表されることを特徴とする請求項17項に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記化合物は、前記元素Aとして少なくともSiを含有し、前記金属元素Mとして少なくともEuを含有し、Euが2価であり、発光ピーク波長が450nm以上520nm以下の範囲であることを特徴とする請求項17項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記化合物は、前記金属元素Mとして少なくともMnを含有し、発光ピーク波長が560nm以上650nm以下の範囲であることを特徴とする請求項17項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記蛍光体は、前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶と異なる結晶相あるいはアモルファス相をさらに含み、前記AlN結晶またはAlN固溶体結晶の含有量は10質量%以上であることを特徴とする請求項19項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記異なる結晶相あるいはアモルファス相が導電性を持つ無機物質であることを特徴とする請求項26項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記導電性を持つ無機物質が、Zn、Ga、In、Snから選ばれる1種または2種以上の元素を含有する酸化物、酸窒化物、または窒化物、あるいはこれらの混合物であることを特徴とする請求項27項に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記化合物は青色蛍光体であり、前記励起源は電子線であることを特徴とする請求項24項に記載の画像表示装置。
