Abstract
【解決手段】用紙束SSの背部に接着剤ADを塗布し冊子を作製する製本装置において、塗布ローラ602から用紙束SSの背部に塗布された接着剤ADの量が所定量以上になった場合、接着剤槽601内の接着剤ADの量が少なくなったものと判断し、固形状の接着剤であるペレットPTを接着剤槽601へ補給する。

Description
用紙束の背部に接着剤を塗布し冊子を作製する製本装置であって、
接着剤を収容する接着剤槽と、
固形状の接着剤を前記接着剤槽へ補給する補給部と、
前記接着剤槽へ補給された固形状の接着剤を溶解する溶解部と、
前記用紙束の背部に接着剤を塗布する塗布部と、
前記塗布部により塗布された接着剤の量が所定量以上になった場合、前記補給部より前記接着剤槽へ固形状の接着剤を補給すべく、前記補給部を制御する制御部と、
を有することを特徴とするものである。
用紙に画像を形成する画像形成装置と、
当該画像形成装置から出力される用紙を受け取って冊子を作製する請求項1乃至4の何れか1項に記載の製本装置と、
を有することを特徴とするものである。
残量検知センサ606はサーミスタからなる温度検知素子を有し、接着剤槽601内の温度を検知する。溶融状態の接着剤ADが残量検知センサ606に接触すると検知温度が高く、溶融状態の接着剤ADが残量検知センサ606に接触しないと検知温度が低下する。従って、接着剤槽601内の接着剤の量が所定量以下になると、残量検知センサ606により検知される温度が所定温度以下になる。接着剤の残量の減少検知信号が出ると、ペレットPTが接着剤槽601に補給される。このように残量検知センサ606により接着剤槽601内の温度を検知すれば簡易に接着剤の残量を検知できる。
補給センサFSのカウント数Nは必ずしも補給するペレットPTの数に一致するわけではなく、実験例では補給センサFSの1カウントがペレット2.5個分に対応した。なお、実際の補給量は折れ線L2で示すように小数点以下を切り捨てたカウント数とした。図14に示す特性データがROM201に記憶されており、この特性データを参照してCPU201が補給量を算出する。

Claims (5)
- 用紙束の背部に接着剤を塗布し冊子を作製する製本装置であって、
接着剤を収容する接着剤槽と、
固形状の接着剤を前記接着剤槽へ補給する補給部と、
前記接着剤槽へ補給された固形状の接着剤を溶解する溶解部と、
前記用紙束の背部に接着剤を塗布する塗布部と、
前記塗布部により塗布された接着剤の量が所定量以上になった場合、前記補給部より前記接着剤槽へ固形状の接着剤を補給すべく、前記補給部を制御する制御部と、
を有することを特徴とする製本装置。 - 前記接着剤槽に収容された接着剤の量を検知する検知部を有し、
前記検知部により検知された接着剤の量が所定量以下になった場合、前記補給部より前記接着剤槽へ固形状の接着剤を補給すべく、前記制御部が前記補給部を制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の製本装置。 - 前記検知部は前記接着剤槽内の温度を検知するものであり、
前記制御部は、前記検知部により検知された温度が所定温度以下になった場合に、前記接着剤槽に収容された接着剤の量が所定量以下になった場合の制御を行うことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の製本装置。 - 前記用紙束の厚さを測定する測定部を有し、
前記測定部により測定された前記用紙束の厚さの積算値が所定値以上になった場合、前記塗布部により塗布された接着剤の量が所定量以上になったものとして、前記制御部が前記補給部を制御することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載の製本装置。 - 用紙に画像を形成する画像形成装置と、
当該画像形成装置から出力される用紙を受け取って冊子を作製する請求項1乃至4の何れか1項に記載の製本装置と、
を有することを特徴とする製本システム。
