Abstract
【解決手段】 基板上に、第1の強磁性層と、第1の強磁性層上に形成された非磁性層と、非磁性層上に形成された第2の強磁性層とを有し、第2の強磁性層の保磁力Hc2が第1の強磁性層の保磁力Hc1よりも大きい磁気記録媒体に、磁極により磁界Hを印加して、第1の強磁性層の磁化方向を印加磁場方向に変化させ、金属探針と磁気記録媒体との間に正又は負の何れか一方の電圧Vを印加して、第1の強磁性層と第2の強磁性層との間の量子井戸準位のエネルギーを変化させて交換磁場HEを誘起し、交換磁場HEと磁界Hとにより、第2の強磁性層の磁化方向を変化させる。

Description
また、特許文献3には、強磁性体金属/非磁性金属/強磁性体金属の三層構造からなる記録媒体に金属探針により局所電界を印加し、且つアシスト磁場を用いて磁化を制御する方法および装置が開示されている。引用文献3では、金属探針に印加する電圧を、正V0から負-V、又は負-Vから正V0に変化させ、かつ書き込み磁化方向にアシスト磁場を印加することで磁化反転を行っている。すなわち、電圧も磁場も反転させている。
Claims (16)
- 基板上に、第1の強磁性層と、前記第1の強磁性層上に形成された非磁性層と、前記非磁性層上に形成された第2の強磁性層とを有し、第2の強磁性層の保磁力Hc2が第1の強磁性層の保磁力Hc1よりも大きい磁気記録媒体と、
前記磁気記録媒体に磁界Hを印加する磁極と、
金属探針と前記磁気記録媒体との間に、正又は負の何れか一方の電圧Vを印加する手段とを備え、
前記第1の強磁性層と第2の強磁性層との間に形成された非磁性層中には、量子井戸準位が形成されており、
前記磁界Hにより、第1の強磁性層の磁化方向が印加磁場方向に変化し、
前記正又は負の何れか一方の電圧Vが印加されることにより、前記第1の強磁性層と第2の強磁性層との間の量子井戸準位のエネルギーが変化して、交換磁場HEが誘起され、
前記磁界Hと交換磁場HEとにより、前記第2の強磁性層の磁化方向が変化することを特徴とする記録再生装置。 - 前記第1の強磁性層の保磁力Hc1、第2の強磁性層の保磁力Hc2、及び磁界Hとは、Hc1<H<Hc2の関係を有し、
前記交換磁場HEとは、Hc2<H+HEの関係を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の記録再生装置。 - 前記交換磁場HEとは、さらにH−HE<Hc1の関係を有することを特徴とする請求項2記載の記録再生装置。
- 前記第1の強磁性層は反強磁性層の上に形成されており、前記第1の強磁性層の磁化は固定されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の記録再生装置。
- 前記第1の強磁性層及び第2の強磁性層の磁化方向は、面内方向であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の記録再生装置。
- 前記第1の強磁性層及び第2の強磁性層の磁化方向は、膜面に垂直方向であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の記録再生装置。
- 前記第1の強磁性層と基板との間に、非磁性層を介して形成された第3の強磁性層と、前記基板と第3の強磁性層との間に形成された反強磁性層とを有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の記録再生装置。
- 電圧Vの非印加時において、第1の強磁性層と第2の強磁性層と間に働く磁気的交換相互作用は、ほぼ0であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の記録再生装置。
- 金属探針と磁化領域表面との間に電圧を印加し、トンネル電流値の変化により、強磁性層の磁化方向を読み取ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の記録再生装置。
- 基板上に、第1の強磁性層と、前記第1の強磁性層上に形成された非磁性層と、前記非磁性層上に形成された第2の強磁性層とを有し、第2の強磁性層の保磁力Hc2が第1の強磁性層の保磁力Hc1よりも大きい磁気記録媒体と、
前記磁気記録媒体に磁界Hを印加する磁極と、
金属探針と前記磁気記録媒体との間に電圧Vを印加する電極とを備え、
前記磁界Hにより、第1の強磁性層の磁化方向を印加磁場方向に変化させ、
正又は負の何れか一方の電圧Vを印加して前記第2の強磁性層の磁化方向を変化させて、磁化情報を第2の強磁性層に記録することを特徴とする記録再生装置。 - 前記電圧Vを印加することにより交換磁場HEが誘起され、
前記交換磁場HEと磁界Hとにより、第2の強磁性層の磁化方向を変化させることを特徴とする請求項11記載の記録再生装置。 - 前記第1の強磁性層の保磁力Hc1、第2の強磁性層の保磁力Hc2、及び磁界Hとは、Hc1<H<Hc2の関係を有し、
前記交換磁場HEとは、Hc2<H+HEの関係を有することを特徴とする請求項10記載の記録再生装置。 - 前記交換磁場HEとは、さらにH−HE<Hc1の関係を有することを特徴とする請求項12記載の記録再生装置。
- 基板上に、第1の強磁性層と、前記第1の強磁性層上に形成された非磁性層と、前記非磁性層上に形成された第2の強磁性層とを有し、第2の強磁性層の保磁力Hc2が第1の強磁性層の保磁力Hc1よりも大きい磁気記録媒体に、磁極により磁界Hを印加して、第1の強磁性層の磁化方向を印加磁場方向に変化させ、
金属探針と前記磁気記録媒体との間に正又は負の何れか一方の電圧Vを印加して、前記第1の強磁性層と第2の強磁性層との間の量子井戸準位のエネルギーを変化させて交換磁場HEを誘起し、
前記交換磁場HEと前記磁界Hとにより、前記第2の強磁性層の磁化方向を変化させることを特徴とする電界印加磁気記録方式。 - 前記第1の強磁性層の保磁力Hc1、第2の強磁性層の保磁力Hc2、及び磁界Hとは、Hc1<H<Hc2の関係を有し、
前記交換磁場HEとは、Hc2<H+HEの関係を有することを特徴とする請求項14記載の電界印加磁気記録方式。 - 前記交換磁場HEとは、さらにH−HE<Hc1の関係を有することを特徴とする請求項14記載の電界印加磁気記録方式。
